Hello! My husband Josh and I are going to have our initial consultation with the team at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. Josh is in the Air Force and we are having IVF done by the military. We went to orientation in August and have all the tests done. They are going to go over our history and develop our plan of action. We have male factor, PCOS and a blocked tube. We are hoping to be able to do IVF in January.

Hi and welcome to Bnb. Good luck with your FS appointment, hope all goes well and you start your IVF cycle in the new year.
Any questions, or you just need to vent feel free to ask, everyone here is just fantastic.
Bek :hugs:

This morning we had our initial consultation with Dr. K. We met initially with an admin that got my BP and weight and brief history. My BP was through the freaking roof! 160/100! I could feel it being the bundle of nerves that I was. If the BP persists he wants to put me on meds but I get my BP taken twice a week when I give plasma and its fine.( Dr. K and Nurse Practitioner (NP) D reviewed my records and upon viewing my HSG video he wanted to do an internal ultrasound (not that awful of a procedure until he is encouraged her to make a sharp turn to look at the ovaries OUCH!) In 2005 I had a hysteroscopy to fix blocked tubes and a septated uterus. Upon viewing the septate for himself he said that he wants to do surgery after I get a new HSG so that he can fix the septate himself. The fix from 2005 either wasnt good enough or there was scar tissue that was formed. He said that my ovaries looked really good and it was apparent that I had ovulated this month on clomid. He said the ovaries looked like chocolate chip cookies and showed me what to look for. He didnt note any cysts, fibroids or any other areas of concern. He just wants to get the uterus to be as normal inside as possible because septates are a higher risk of miscarriage. Happily he said the sentence that I longed to hear: He doesnt see any reason why we shouldnt be able to get pregnant through IVF with ICSI!!!! We will be able to do in April or August. Josh had another semen analysis today and the results of that and my new HSG will tell them if we are candidates to do IUI (which is FREE through our clinic) while we are waiting for IVF. He was very pleased with my weight loss and was confident that I will lose another 14 lbs to have IVF. I brought him my before photo from last Christmas and he was quite impressed. He asked me to tell him what I was doing to lose weight and just basically wanted to make sure that I was doing it in a healthy way. We discussed a study from Harvard that said a BMI of 20-25 was optimal for IVF. For my height that is 170LBS. Which is definitely doable with IVF not being at least until April. Josh might also have to visit a urologist to make sure there isnt anything physically wrong that would be causing the low sperm count. I had a blood draw done today and I have to get a lipids panel soon. My clomid challenge test results were in the computer and the numbers were really good! (Although he didnt tell me the number but positive words are good enough for me!) I feel so relaxed after this appointment. It was funny that the one thing we thought was fixed was the thing that came up but I feel confident that he will be able to take care of my septate.

I'm really happy for you that things are moving along. It always helps when action is being taken. It is the wait and see that is so hard. Good luck with everything.
