I don’t know what is going on and I am getting scared… my doctors is telling me to just wait and see what the next set of blood work says. Is this good, bad, not a big deal!? What do you think? Please Help!!!!! We have been trying so long to get the BFP – I just can’t wait and see. I need your help and experience.

BFP using at home pregnancy test 11dpo – 14dpo

Beta done morning of 14dpo (I did not eat breakfast before this test)
HCG = 149
Progesterone = 30

2nd Beta done morning of 17dpo (I DID eat breakfast before this test)
HCG = 454
Progesterone = 15

He says he wants more blood work on 19dpo. He said he wants to check my numbers again. He asked “Are you still using the Crinone” and I answered “Of course!” and he just said “Ok, then let’s check this again. Your HCG is headed in the right direction, but I want to check this again in 2 days”

If everything is fine, why the triple check? Is it really bad that the progesterone dropped so much? Isn’t 15 still in the normal range? And I thought eating could cause progesterone levels to drop, should I have fasted? Am I reading too much into this?

Is this a sign of a pending miscarriage?????

Have any of you had drops in progesterone and the end result was a healthy baby?

Thank you for sharing you experiences with this blood work!!!!

I don't know much about what all those numbers mean but just wanted to say good luck and try not to stress. Wishing you the very best!

I think 15 is still in the OK range for progesterone (someone will come by who knows more). I'm not sure if eating affects the number.

I would express your concerns in the progesterone drop to your OB and ask if you need to supplement. If you're freaked out in the meantime, you can get some over the counter progesterone cream at a vitamin shop/health food store. It's a much lower dose, but I understand the feeling of wanting to do something when you're concerned. Good thing is you'll get checked again in a day or 2 and you can see what's up then. Good luck.

Wishing you the best. Praying for you as well. All will be fine!:hugs:

Eating bears no relationship to your progesterone number. As you are using crinone, you should be fine, as you are putting the progesterone where you need it, so it doesn't always show up in your blood, but 15 is a pretty low number.

Progesterone cream is not worth the money, you;d need a tonne of the stuff to make any difference, or to be anywhere close to the amount in the crinone!

I hope your next BT shows a better P4 number

I'm afraid I don't know much about the progesterone. I can understand why you are worried but I'd say at this point the most important number is still the HCG and if it is good then that is very positive. Hugs

With my first, my progrestrone dropped to 11.

My Doctor wouldnt give me any supplements as he thinks a healthy pregnancy will look after itself as long as hcg rises.

My 11 progrestrone is now 17 months old and running around everywhere!!!!. I think you will be fine as long as your hcg continues to rise.

It freaked me out so much with my first that he wouldnt give me anything, so much so that I refused to have my progestrone checked with this pregnancy in case it was low again and everything is going along fine.

Good luck xx

If you are really worried, you should push them to give you a supplement. My progesterone was 8 at 5 weeks. I have PCOS though and we always have a hard time with progesterone numbers. My OB wasn't concerned at all but I pushed for supplements. They do not harm you in any way, so there is no reason for them not to give it to you if you really want it. I took the pills up to like 16 weeks. I only had my number rechecked once after the 8 result. Within one week it had gone up to 22, so it really made me feel better and I didn't stress over it.

Good luck!
