Hi ladies,

I don't know what to think if I'm honest and you guys have heloed me so much up to yet that I thought I'd hat see others experiences and opinions....

Those of you that know me know Jacobs story and we've not had the easiest time so far, well last week when Jacob had his 12 week jabs, I also saw the health visitor for Jacob's measurements, (which they track back to his corrected age) well Jacob's measurements came up as follows

Head circumference 91st centile
Weight 25th centile
Length isn't even on the scale, so less than 4th centile.

I'm not sure if i'm more concerned about the head circumference being so large or about his length being so low!

I wouldn't worry about the head circumference. My dd is in the 87th and my son is in the 99th! It runs in our family that we all have big heads. We just joke that it is all e brain power. Unless there is fluid or something causing his head to be big, it is no concern.

Please try not to worry, Hun. Like in untero, babies grow and develop at different rates once they are born. I'm sure Jacob is fine. :flower:

Anything on the centiles is normal and nothing to be worried about. It just means that if you lined up 100 babies according to head size, your LO would be number 91 so not the biggest but near that end.

Lol, height wise he'd not even be no1 - good job he's got a larger head or we'd never see him!

My daughter has a huge head! Her height and weight have varied greatly throughout her short life due to reflux mainly (born in the 50th or so percentile for both, dropped to the 20th or so for both and now in the 65th percentile for height and 45th percentile for weight), but her head has always been somewhere in the 90th percentile. They measure her a bunch everytime we go to the pediatrician, but no one seems concerned beyond that! I will say that very few baby hats fit her, though :)

My baby (and every other kid I've met) has all had hge heads according to the chart. My son is 50th for weight and head is somewhere in the 80's. My doctor said its nothing to worry about. Also, if you look at the actual measurements, there is only a difference of a few millimeters and the length a few centimeters so if you try really hard, you can actually stretch them out to be an acceptable proportion ;)
