Well I planned on BLW but my 4month old little boy has started drinking 7/8oz bottles and drinking so much so fast he was throwing most of it back up, and stopped sleeping through(ish) at night.

So I decided to give him some rice, about 4 tiny mouthfulls at our dinner time, and he slept from 12am until 7.30 am again :) He did enjoy it and he has had it for 3days now at tea time...

I have a few (Well alot) of Q's if people could help...:
1) When is the best time in the day to introduce foods in a routine, like teatime everyday or brekkie or w/e?

2) When do i introduce flavoured purees?

3) When do you start introducing more than one meal a day, how much, when, which meals?

4) When can he have finger foods?

5) How much should they eat?

6) Do you give a bottle straight after or before or stagger?

7) Any other information you could give me... So many people telling me different things...

Thanks guys :) xxx

1) When is the best time in the day to introduce foods in a routine, like teatime everyday or brekkie or w/e?

Hi hun, the best time to start is after his morning bottle, when he's alert & fully awake.

2) When do i introduce flavoured purees?

Give baby rice one wk then u can start introducing veggie/fruit puree. Start with veggies, as babies like sweeter tastes. Start with 1 veggie, wait 2-3 days then start introducing another veggie. Butternut squash, sweet potatoes & carrots r good for starting

3) When do you start introducing more than one meal a day, how much, when, which meals?

After 2-3 wks frm introducing the 1st meal is a good timing to introduce a second meal

4) When can he have finger foods?

At around 6 mnths, when their system is more mature & they can deal with lumps

5) How much should they eat?

It depends on ur baby. U can start with 1-2 tbsp or 1 cube then u can start to increase. When ur Lo closes his mouth or starts spitting food, it means he's full

6) Do you give a bottle straight after or before or stagger?

At the beginning, u start giving solids After bottles, again it depends on ur baby. I usually leave a gap of 1.5 to 2 hrs between meals & feeds, but my LO is not a big eater or drinker since he was tiny. He prefers bottles after solids when he's tired & ready to nap

7) Any other information you could give me... So many people telling me different things...

Take it slow hun. Ur LO needs his formula more than solids at this stage. Solids should be given in addition to his regular feeds. As ur Lo is taking more than the recommended dropping few ozs won't hard but u should always make sure he's taking the minimum recommended for his age (around 28 oz). If he still wants more formula, just give it to him. Good luck hun xx

1) When is the best time in the day to introduce foods in a routine, like teatime everyday or brekkie or w/e?

We have a bottle for breakfast then next meal is dinner/milk

2) When do i introduce flavoured purees?

You can introduce root veg in the first week but I weaned early so wanted to only give porridge for the first week.

3) When do you start introducing more than one meal a day, how much, when, which meals?

Brooke has 5 bottles a day and we alternate, milk, dinner/milk, milk, tea/milk, milk

4) When can he have finger foods?

Over 6 months

5) How much should they eat?

Depends on your baby they will let you know when they have had enough

6) Do you give a bottle straight after or before or stagger?

We have dinner/tea then finish with milk

7) Any other information you could give me... So many people telling me different things...

Go at the pace of your baby, your mam.. you'll know and be fine!
My son was weaned at 3 months (11yrs ago) and he is fine, no allergies not fat etc my daughter was 16 weeks and my nephew was 8 months.. they are all thriving!
