Help! Would you class Connect Four as a board game?

My daughters allowed to take board games into school today.
Would connect four be classed as a board game?

I'm not sure actually. I would let her take it in anyway though. It's not an electronic game (iPad, DS etc) which I am guessing the School would want to avoid so I would say Connect4 would be fine.
