Hi - first post and very nervous

Hi everyone,

This is my first post and I am a bit nervous. I have been married for 2 years and we have decided to start trying in March 2009. I will be 32 then (just). I am excited about this as it is definitely something I want. I am also terrified as I need to get a referral to a dermatologist as I have suspected vulvodynia and I can't even have sex never mind try for a baby at the moment.

This is the first time I have said it to anyone, other than the doctor, but I suppose if I write it down it might push me to make that appointment and get this sorted out. More than anything I want to just feel normal and be able to try (and have a normal sex life). Hope this wasn't too much information for a first post.

Thanks for responding. I am going to make it this week and hopefully will be seen by a dermatologist soon after so I might be trying around the same time as you, or just before. It's nerve-wracking but exciting too. Need to get this out of the way first though.

Thanks. I will do. I have been given the name of a very good dermatologist and been told to get referred to her. Apparently she specialises in it. I have been fobbed off twice already and told it was thrush so third time lucky. Am hoping to be taken seriously this time.

Exactly. I just want to get past stage one of sorting out my problem and then I can get down to ttc. I am not that excited at the moment because there might be a waiting list to see the specialist but I suppose I am getting the ball rolling and that is the main thing.

So, are you taking some time out from ttc?

Im wtt right now. Im in my last few months of university and other half is insisting i try my best at finishing before we start ttc again. Hopefully it will go quickly

Am going down to the doctor first thing in the morning to register and make an appointment (not long moved to this flat). Think it is a good idea to concentrate on your uni. That's what we are doing too. My OH is in uni until June 2009 so if we start in March/April '09 then at least he will be working for a good while before a baby appears. Don't want to wait much longer than that as there is always something cropping up for us.
