Hi ya girlies - ive just started drinking raspberry leaf tea maybe a bit late i know but how much a day should i drink and would it do me any harm in drinking it by the glass- cold? i.e im making up a few pints a day and leaving it in the fridge much more refreshing and easier to drink but i dont want to drink to much!!!

Any advice much appreciated :)

I think it's 1 cup a day, that's what I drank anyway started at 36 weeks, I am now drinking 2 but think I can drink 3, there doesn't seem to be no hard and fast rule, just if you get too many bh's to drink less

I started ať 35wks to with 1cup a day next wk 2 čup wk after 3 cups etc x

I started last week (36wks) with one cup a day and am going to build up to 2 this week and 3 next week xx

so whats the deal with this RLT?? iv herd soo soo many pregnant ladies mention it, i even drank it the other two times i was pregnant but without knowing why lol...

I have started on one weak cup a day (at 34+4 MW said it was okay to start then), and am going to increase by a cup every few days, though I'll back off if my BH get too bad (I have irritable uterus), and my MW said a max of 3 cups a day once I've built up slowly. I've started on the Clipper tea, which is only about 50% raspberry leaves (plus rosehip, apple and raspberry fruit), and it tastes lovely, but I think pure leaves will be more effective, so I'm going to order some proper loose leaf tea to use from 36 weeks.

It's supposed to tone the uterus and make your contractions more efficient.

I had my first RLT today. I will be having 1 cup a day for the next 7 days then increase by 2 cups a day the following week, 3 cups the week after and then 4. I don't think I can manage more than 4 a day, if that's even advisable?

I just have the rasberry leaf teabags does it make a difference of its not pure tea leafs x

I don't know for certain with RLT, but I use peppermint and chamomile tea a lot for IBS and find the only brands that actually make a difference are the ones that use medicinal grade herbs that are high in the relevant oils (e.g. Dr Stuarts). Some just taste of peppermint, as the herbs they use are only culinary grade. I assume that some brands of RLT teabag will be using better grades of herb than others, and since the Clipper ones I've got don't say medicinal grade I assume they may not be? But then, I'm not sure if there are different grades of raspberry leaf, I mean, it's not normally drunk for anything other than medicinal purposes is it? But anyway they're only 50% raspberry leaf, so I figure a cup of RLT made from either looseleaf or teabags that are 100% raspberry leaf will be basically twice as strong, and I know where I can get looseleaf.

I did/I'm doing
one cup (or teabag) per day at 32 weeks
34 weeks = 2 cups
36 weeks = 3 cups
38 weeks = 4 cups per day

you can get rlt in teabags from whittards it tastes a bit pants but i found if you put blackcurrant cordial in it then its not that bad and actually drinkable and i find that when you get to drinking like 3-4 cups a day i tend to put 2 teabags in at a time as always forget to make more than a few cups of it
