I cant believe in 1 week I'll be halfway there !!!! I think Im going to count down weeks after that instead of counting up lol lol..just makes it seem faster lol...
Nice idea! I think I'll do that too!
My midwife has put me down for antenatal classes. I have no idea what's involved but I thought I'd put my name down and I can always cancel if I don't want to go.
As for the birth, I'm just trying not to have too many expectations. I know I don't particularly want a water birth. I feel pretty easy going about it really. I know I want to have the baby at hospital in case anything goes wrong and also so I can have an epidural
I'd love to hear how your hypno-birthing classes go. A friend of a friend did it and had a pain-free delivery!
Ante-natal classes are usually going over the whole birth/recovery process (like we dont know where that baby comes out lol) and topics range from the different stages of birth and labor....different positions...the different options you have pain wise..breathing techniques...reasons you might have to have an emergency c-section...reasons for vacuuming/forceps (they had to use both on me when I was born lol)...recovery...things that happen to you after birth like milk coming in...bleeding...cramps you'll experience as your uterus contracts to normal size...how you'll be afraid to go potty #2 (my friend said yes it is true and it hurts like a biatch the first time you have to take a poo)...how to take care of your stitches (either C-section or episiotomoy)..bonding with your baby.. and then also for those first time parents...soothing baby..feeding...bathing...just basic overall baby care...
These all might be differnet depending on where you have your classes...such as a natural birthing center will be wayyy diff than a hospital in some aspects like pain relief and positions you are allowed to get in...
