My LO is 9 months old and has been eating solids for about 3 months. I'm really stuck on what I should be feeding him and how I should be feeding him.

I thought baby jars were okay but after doing a lot of research I've decided that I don't want to feed him jars anymore, I'd much rather be making him food myself so that I know what's going into it.

I know that he can have a majority of foods that I eat but I'm stuck on what to feed him.

What do you give your LO's at meal times and how do you give your LO the food?

Any ideas/help will be appreciated! I'm doing my shopping tomorrow night so I want to plan meals in advance.

Tia x

I cook rio bolognese, fish pies, casseroles, roast dinners, pasta bakes etc.. And sometimes just veg! Or fruit and yoghurt. All blended up into purées because he's still struggling with lumps and finger foods right now x

Thank you :) I'm trying to move Thomas over to finger foods but I just don't know what I'm doing :(

I give my LO omelette (I add cheese). I either cut it into strips or small squares so she feeds herself. She has veg with that. You could try scrambled egg (my LO wasn't keen on egg scrambled!).

Last night was pasta, veg and tuna.

My mum and dad have her on a Monday and Tuesday and dad cooked a load of mince for his lasagne last week. They froze some ready for having Beth and she had mince, rice and veg round there this week.

Chicken breast strips is another good one.

Thank you... Some brill ideas there!

How do you give pasta to a 9 month old?

Lucas literally eats anything we eat now, obviously before one there were some foods he couldn't have, and at around 9 months we were just cutting it up into manageable chunks. The only thing he seemed to have a bit of a problem with was mince, I think he found it awkward to swallow and it would make him gag unless there was plenty of sauce, potato etc with it so that could be something to keep in mind :)

What do you normally eat? You can give LO pretty much anything you have (no/low salt, no honey etc) but if you use baby stock cubes you're fine to give LO most things. If you puree or mash stuff, you can just cook your normal meal then mash it.

I want to steer away from puréed/mashed foods and want to encourage LO to feed himself finger foods. I wish I'd done BLW now!

I don't like salt so don't add it. I eat a variety of things.. Mainly vegetables. I'm a bit unsure of how to give LO meat without pureeing it :/

If I give her something like the tubes of pasta I cut them into about 3 pieces so they are manageable for her.

If you had something like mince you could make meatballs.

Beth also loves grated cheese. Helps with their pincer grip and she seems to enjoy picking it up and eating it.

Tonight I've been to my mums and she got some 100% beef burgers from the butchers. I cut a burger up into small pieces for LO and all he did was gag on it :( it must of been the texture
