Ours is just such a mess with no organisation. I want to get it sorted before Christmas when it will be filled with loads more toys.

Any ideas?

Have you looked on pinterest? There's some fab stuff on there? Inc people using Ikea storage in ways you might not expect. Try putting 'ikea hacks' into pinterest or google...

Ours is just pretty bare with storage around the edges in canvas boxes that he can just take out one at a time. I'm sure you've seen it on instagram. Not sure what I'll do after xmas though as I've got to fit quite a few big things in there. May have to get rid of the corner sofa up the other end of the room and get a smaller maybe 2 seater so he can have space for his easel and a craft area x

Yes, I have seen it. That's what I need, some good storage.
I've already dragged our sofa out of there today as it takes up too much room. It's currently in the dining room so DH will have a shock when he gets home. I need DH to take the tv off the wall too as it never gets used and just looks a mess.

I got some narrow, stackable shelving units. Some wicker baskets that fit in them and then also use a large plastic tote. I have this in the boys room because there is no place else in the house for their stuff.

Here's ours. It still needs a few shelves up, the skirting finishing and a few other touches but it's on its way.

These boxes on castors hold a selection of books for easy access and we swap the ones in the box and rotate for the ones on the shelf every 6 weeks or so. The other box has their instruments in. They can pull them out easily and get to them themselves.

We put in underfloor heating so that we didn't need to lose space with a radiator and to make it nicer when they play on the floor. Yes, it is freezing this morning.

Art and TV wall. The TV is just a TV and DVD player, not actual TV and genuinely it rarely goes on... It's more for when baby is here and they need some respite etc.

This art shelf is one of my favourite bits.

The shelf is drawers that are the perfect size for colouring books and pads and then the tins on top hold the crayons etc. It helps because they can see the crayons and get promoted themselves to be creative but also they are out of reach from Mim the destroyer.

And the light... I love this light.

Pretty much all these storage things are from IKEA.

I'd like to do wainscoting, but instead of paneling on the bottom half, use chalkboard or magnetic paints.

My daughter's playroom as it is now. I'm still trying to decide how to arrange it after Christmas as she'll be getting a tent/tunnel and a baby doll, stroller, crib and high chair. My lo is 18 months so there isn't much in the way of purpose; it's all just play right now. Can't wait til she's a bit older and do a craft section.
I painted a chalkboard wall (half wall) in her bedroom. I don't know why I didn't do it in the playroom instead, so will probably change that. She's not really into it right now anyway as I think she's a bit too young. I really like the drawer shelves in the pic above.

Kitty your playroom is AMAZING! I want to be a child again just looking at it, all your kids' friends will be begging to come and play!

Ours just has too many toys! After Christmas I need to go through everything. I've just added a cute Pinterest inspired decoration the other wall. Where I have the boys artwork pinned up with clothes pins.

Kittyventura where did you get your orange and green wall shelving ?

kittyventura - you've just made me feel so inadequate....

Were still in a building site but planning on having a mid sleeper in their with a tent underneath so they have a cubby hole to play in.

Deff the Ikea square shelving unit with the bright coloured canvas boxes...make toy organisation much easier.

We also got some spice racks to screw to the wall to hold books in, in what will be the reading area.

Also hubby building a big bit of ply wood which tied to casters on the ceiling so it can be lowered which has the wooden train set on it.

Also got big photo/mirror frames and painted the inside with coloured black board and magnet paint.

Cant wait to actually put it all together.

Pinterest is dangerous my whole life if planned to an inch of detail on there!!

Love the photo frame/blackboard paint idea!

Thought I'd bump this thread as we are moving soon and the new house will have a room that we want to use as a snug/playroom. It won't be a massive room and there will be a 2 seater settee in there so I'm just looking for ideas.

Trying to decide whether to go for tv on the wall of maybe get so eething like this from good old Ikea:

Not a play room but we've just moved and Micah has a new bedroom with lots of toy storage so I thought I'd post a couple of pictures:
