i used breastpump out of curiosity hehe

I don't think bf is for me really. the whole getting boobs out in public etc I think will make me not be able to relax and therefore cause me problems.

A friend of mine suggested expressing instead, is this possible and ok to do as a full on feeding way?

You can pump full time but it is a very difficult route to take! It takes alot more time than BF does and is much less convenient. Like LoraLoo said, I would keep an open mind and see how things go once LO is here. xx

I didnt think it was good to mix breast and bottle, I thought that confused the baby. Its all confusing for me I know that much lol

ive been leaking since 16 weeks , my boobs have been so heavy recently I just wanted to just get my boobs out and release it which I have done previously, I asked the midwife if I can express she said No dont do it baby need colestrum and started going mental :/

I did both for my daughter and she was fine. Bottle for when daddy fed & while I was out and then breast for 1st and last feeding of the day.

I dont think thats a good idea to do things like that, you will confuse your body surely?

AND AFTER 5 MINS I GOT COLOSTRUM !!! i am so happy lol. :happydance:

anyone else get this lol

*i was worried i wouldnt be able to produce anything *

I'm not worried that it will make any difference once baby is born, but I tried today, and got NOTHING!!! was it manual or electric?x

I've been leaking colostrum since 17 weeks, but only when my nipples had been stimulated by clothing (bra-less) or if I've added pressure to them. Eager to test my pump though.

I tested my pump too the other day but only once I reached 37 weeks. Don't try it before hand though because it can send you into early labour, this is because it releases a hormone called Oxytocin which causes your uterus to contract. But now I'm considered full term I'm stimulating my breasts every day as a way to try and help labour along sooner.
I had some colostrum come out when pumping but I didn't let too much come out as I want to save it for baby.

i used a manual pump and girls i only did it once to try it out and i only got droplets!!!

you really dont have to worry about wether you have any yet or not!!! id be really careful using a breastpump before baby is born, you can cause labour to start and it can make you really sore if theres not enough colostrom yet, maybe no pain right away but tomorrow you may regret it.

dont worry it will come when baby is born.

Ooooo I did too!! I saw ur thread an I thought I'm 39 weeks an I haven't had a leaky boob all preg. So I just had a go an got some :D x
