I want to drink tea sooo bad! I'm very worried as to what kinds I can and can not have, so I've been abstaining all together. I hear that green tea is good in moderation, a few cups a day. I'm not all too sure about others though, I haven't had much luck looking it up. I don't drink tea very often, maybe once or twice a week and I miss it :(

Does anyone know what kinds I can have [if any].. help :( I'm going through TEA WITHDRAWLS :hissy: hehehe

I'm not to big of a tea drinker but I found this article:

How can I tell which herbal teas are safe to drink during pregnancy?
Although no U.S. regulations specifically address herbal teas, most of the herbs the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) considers safe for food use are presumed safe for teas as well. For example, teas made from ginger, lime blossom, peppermint, roasted barley, rose hips, and thyme are probably safe to drink occasionally in small amounts while you're pregnant or nursing. However, drinking excessive amounts of any teas can cause health problems for you and your developing baby.

My big thing was coffee... oh boy do I have withdrawals. I miss my coffee:hissy:

My Naturopath told me to drink raspberry leaf tea. She said that it is really good for your uterus and helps the baby "stick." I made a big pitcher of it and put it in the fridge. You usually have to get it at a tea shoppe

i drunk tea all through with my 2 pregnancies, could you not switch to decaf if ur not ok with drinking regular?

Normal tea? - You can drink this .... 2 def is ok :D I drink more than 2 admittingly - use to be coffee drinker so cut that out.

I drink a cup of tea every morning.

another topic! i didn't want to start a new thread for this... just thought i'd put it on this one.

can I dye my hair?

I've read tons of mixed articles saying yes and then saying no.. now I'm just confused:(

I dye my hair too, although, I havent done since I found out I was pregnant, so my roots are looking rather unattractive. I really dont know what the reccomendations are either, but I have been lead to believe that bleaching, i.e blond, should not be done during pregnancy, but I am not sure if it is one of those old wives tales.

In the UK the reccomendation for drinking tea is no more than 4 cups per day, I usually stick to 2, my first on a morning and my second in the evening.

HI, im a hairdresser, its fine to dye your hair in pregnancy, but if you have bleach then make sure they are in foils so they dont touch your scalp, also make sure your in a well ventailed room.

Dye tends to take alot better in prengancy so i always sugest picking a shade lighter than you want.

Thanks Layla! I'll be sure to tell my hairdresser that when I go in next. :) Nice to know I don't have to put up with these icky roots.

I had two cups of tea a day when preg and about 6 cups of coffee and I like both strong and I didnt have de-caf as hated it.
I had peanuts and runny fried-egg sarnies the only thing I didnt have was pate.
Go with what you fancy hun if you want it have it,only thing a bit detrimental in tea is the Tannin which can stop you absorbing some Iron but if your diet good then it wont make a significant difference
Enjoy

You girls are the bestest! If it wasn't for you and this forum, I would be without all my favourite things for the next 6 months just because of paranoia. YAY for B&B :happydance:

Alright! I will defiantly have to get some highlights done before the holidays to cover my wonderful grow out!:happydance:

I drink a mint tea every morning to help settle my tummy:) I am a hairstylist and I asked my doc about color, she said that there is nothing that has been found in coloring your hair that effects the fetus. I know plenty of women who are around color all day every day during there pregnancies and have never had a problem with the fumes or anything. My doc said its more about if you can handle the smell since your sense of smell is more sensitive.
