so i had my ultrasound yesturday i am 25 + 2 and the baby already weighs 2 pounds doctor said hes really healthy said hes in the 67th percentile? what does that mean?

That means your baby weighs more at this stage than 67% of others at 25 weeks. As in, he's a bit bigger than average. :)

For percentile rankings, doctors use a sample population and compare where you are to everyone else. The 99th percentile means your baby is as big as they come for his cohort... because he's in the top 1%! The 25th percentile means your baby is in the smallest quarter, and 75% of babies are bigger.

Does that make sense?

Percentile ranges from 0-100%. If your at the 67th percentile it means that out of 100, you're 67% bigger than some, and 33% smaller than others.

67th percentile means for example, out of 100 babies: 66 would weight less and 33 would weigh more than yours (2 lbs).

It means you're above the normal weight (50th percentile).

I was wondering this my son is the 61% on Friday at 17+5 she said it was good so didn't bother to ask what it meant now I get it LOL thanks for asking and thanks ladies for explaining :)
