Inspired by the other thread, what was your first tattoo and what's the story behind?

My first tattoo is one I designed myself. It says 'what goes around comes around' which I think is so true. It has a bee flying around it, so the track of the bee is in a love heart shape.. If that makes sense

I got my first tattoo when I was 20. I'd wanted one sooner, but I was pregnant and then BFing. I went with my mom and we got matching (small) hearts on our the back of our left hands, sort of between the thumb and index finger. I got it on my hand so that no matter where I am or what I'm doing, I will always see it and think of my mom. I hope to someday get one with my daughter, too.
I only have one other tattoo, and it's on my right forearm. I have a matching infinity sign with my husband. I'm not-so-patiently waiting for my consultation appointment with my artist to draw up my next one.

I have 3.
The first one is on my right shoulder. Its a butterfly with "Spread your wings be free". I got it done not long after something horrible happened to me. It was my way of saying "up yours".

The second one is on my left forearm & says "One step at a time" with a footprint either end and one in the middle. It is for the two babies we lost before my son & for my son.

The third one is on my right forearm, in matching font to the 2nd & says "Forever Goodnight" with 4 stars around it. It is for the father of my child who sadly died just before our son was born. That one is the most meaningful one i have. When ever i talk to him, i always say "forever goodnight". I wanted to remember him in some way, but wanted something personal. I also felt i could not move on properly until i had this done.

Each of my tattoos represent a meaningful chapter in my life.

I have two interlinking horse shoes on my right shoulder, one of which is a heart bar shoe. I came up with the design myself. It's to give me a constant reminder of how the horses I have lost have affected me.
