Just wondered if there are any of you girls that have opted for donor eggs for ivf? not as in donating but as in receiving.

I've really only just started with investigations but this is my biggest worry at the moment.. what if my egg reserve isn't good enough for ivf

Anyway, i'd really like to hear from anyone that has had to consider this or is actually opting for it.

It isn't something that I am considering at the moment, I think my eggs are still ok.
However if it came down to it, YES I would receive donor eggs. To me it would still be very much MY child and my partners.

My oh's kids were egg donation. His sperm but not his ex wife's eggs. He doesnt even know if the eggs were from the same donor.

I would absoultely exhaust the options of using my own first. I cant consider the option at the moment of my kids not being genetic. It might be selfish but I find the possibility too distressing to contemplate. I know its selfish X

As some of you may know for the last month I have been having positive opks! Now have eventually got a test for lh/fsh on day 3 of my next cycle. What I'm thinking though is that as I seem to have elevated lh that my fsh is also going to be high ( I don't have pcos). From googling I see that if fsh is above a certain level then they won't do ivf with my own eggs.
I haven't even wanted to contemplate donor eggs as I've always though that genetically it wouldn't be my baby but now that I may have that as my only option then I don't know! Obviously I want to explore options first though .

Hi Chanel, hang in there! I'm sure you'll be fine. Maybe it was just an off month. I wouldn't know if my OPKs were still positive after I ov because I don't use any after that. And a lot of people don't so there may be a lot of people in your situation that don't know about it.

As for doner eggs, I'm not in that position as I'm still ov'ing but I did think about this a while ago in case I wasn't. I personally would rather adopt than go with that option. That's just how I feel and obviously everyone is different. If you would feel happy doing that and that is your last option, then go for it, but I really hope it doesn't come to that.

See how this month goes. I'm sure you're too young to have run out of eggs xxx

Hopefully you are right susan and I'm just in a bit of a hormonal mess at the moment!

My cd21 test was good but that doesn't give an indication of how much ovarian reserve I have!

I have had treatment in the past that may have affected my fertility which is why I'm worried.

I guess I just need to wait and see what the fsh result is! I have some bleeding today but not sure if it is cd1 as I had an internal ultrasound yesterday which may have caused some bleeding!

hey hun... I totally understand what you mean by "exploring the options! " i even read the legislation on surrogacy when they told me that I've got a cyst on my ovary :rofl::rofl:....... wait for the test result hun...you never know
:hugs:

Thanks brumbar, i'm just playing the waiting game now and keepng my fingers crossed :-)

Now im ttc #1, hopefully wont take too long

good luck to everyone, I know how it feels i have been there!!
