January JellyBean mummies

urgh i feel like such a failure have given joe a dummy! i cant stand them and hate the way they look...no offence to those with dummies just my opinion! but it is soothing him, never had one with my other two, hope he doesnt still have it at 16!!! lol

Sar I done it too with Alex.... Caine dosent have one but I did it for some peace for my poor nipples!

I took a mommy and me bath with Rhys today and I've never seen him so in awe he absolutly loved it! He was kicking his legs like a little fish it was so cute to watch! <3

Anyways here is a link to my birth story if anybody wishes to read it... I got carried away as it's really long. https://www.babyandbump.com/birth-stories-announcements/527715-rhys-david-you-made.html#post8994055

Sarah I love dummies! They look cute - unless they over 2! And they make baby happy if they like to suck, Corey loved his! Thought it would be hard to take it away but we just swopped them for monsters Inc DVD and he was fine! Wish Fearne would have one but she don't like to suck like Corey did! I will persevere tho lol!

Don't beat yourself up about it just enjoy the benefits! X

Apparantly they help prevent SIDS and help as newborns just want to suck

Hate to see 3 year olds walking round with em hanging out their mouth and talking tho :(

I also hate seeing kids who are over 1 with a dummy (soother, suckie...or yuckie in my case) in their mouth. I will use one once Quinn is a month old so as not to cause nipple confusion but I have strict rules with it. They only get it while sleeping or in the car (i dont like driving with a screaming baby) And once they are 9 months i get rid of it in the car and i start getting rid of it at home at 1 yr. Worked out well with my daughter.

I dont mean to offend anyone by this its just my opinion.

i think we will use it just to tide him over between feeds or to get him off to sleep in the day! night time is fine no probs, he goes from 9ish til 12-2 ish then 5ish and he just lays in his cot dozing he doesnt need a dummy for that part, dont know if im gonna start something and make him reliant on it but hopfully it will settle him in the day. so im not rocking/holding him all day

I wish Phoebe would take a dummy. She was comfort sucking on me half the night but everytime I tried to put her down, ping! Wide awake baby arrgh lol

Happy Friday everyone! I'm hopefully getting phoebes photo done in town today. Anyone else got any plans today?

i saw boots were doing photos yesterday but Joe was still in his pj's lol, i'll wait til he is smiling on demand haha, he has been very happy today, had a bath and is in bed at the moment, good boy! Im waiting for a stroller to come today as the travel system we have is massive and i have to take the wheels off to get it in the boot, so this one i'll keep in the boot and use for short trips. Just need to get a rain cover for it. Childminding course tomorrow and gonna take my 15yr old out on Sunday, he has been really good lately, keeping his bedroom tidy and getting up for school nicely so im gonna treat him! (he has a learning disability) We will prob go to the arcade

Hope the course goes well Sarah. It sounds like your son has been trying really hard, hope you have a fab day out x x

Hi ladies,

I haven't been about for ages so hope u are all doing well!

How are all your lo's sleeping at the moment?

We were supposed to have the hv yesterday but she didn't turn up, grrrrrrrr, I havent seen her since Isobel was 10 days old! She didn't even ring grrrrrrrr.

Hubby surprised me by turning up at home for the hv appointment, it was 12 and he had driven 40 miles! Flowers in hand! Then we went out for some dinner, it was lovely. He was trying to make up from me yelling at him for not pulling his weight. It's worked so far he had Isobel in the spare room last night so I slept solid from 12-9 for the first time in 5 weeks! X. X

how annoying about hv, are you gonna ring them? brownie points to oh too. joe sleeps well usually goes down 9-half past then wakes foe feed at 12-2 then again 5-6, he doesnt muck about either, has feed winds then back to sleep

I did ring them when she was an hour late and the lady at the health centre rang her, she had got caught up at the last appointment so was going to have to miss me to get to the one after me on time!!

Isobel isn't doing too bad usually she does from 11-4 then through till 8. So cant complain, she has started to up her bottle at night and in the morning so maybe she is getting ready to go longer! It would be lovely! Lol

How was your holiday sar??

it was manic tbh, i went to see my sister she has 3 kids and a really loud parrot! it done my head in lol and she also childminds lol so it was a proper madhouse, was lovely to see my neices and nephew though

At least you got to see everyone and its a trip away, love ur avatar pic, joe has a beautiful smile cant wait until isobel is smiling! x

well chuffed, just got a baby swing off freecycle!

Any tips for winding babies at night. Michael is one week old today but gets quite unsettled after his feeds at night where he takes 2-3 ounces. I wind him and sometimes use infacol but he still seems to stir half an hour after dropping off.

I love a dummy. I have been giving it to Mackenzie since birth but she's only really taking it now (and only if it's dunked in gripe water!) Without it I would go crazy as sometimes I cannot console her and the only way she will stop crying is if she sucks, and she's not sucking on me all day, lol.

You lucky girl!

Susie if Michael is waking after half hour id guess that he's nodding off before fully winded and the trapped wind is disturbing him. I find gripe water better than infacol.

What an aweful night I had last night. Quinn didn't settle until 2am then was up at 5 and again at 7 and now my daughter was up at 8. I just want to sleep!!!! but im off to take my mom to get some blood work done. Hope everyone else had a good night.
