January JellyBean mummies

Hi JJ's

We had such a good night :happydance: had a nap from 5-7 then Kieran fell asleep on me in his sling around 9 so wen upstairs and put him in his normal cosleeping spot (between me and DH) and he woke up around 10 very unsettled so I brought him right up next to me tummy to tummy (like side lying BF position though not feeding) and he slept through like that until 1! It was so sweet :cloud9: I wish we could cosleep like that all the time but DH thinks it's too dangerous. I dont think it is as that is probably how most mummies cosleep. I need to pick my battles though as I already go my way with cosleeping and dont want to push it now. Off to BFing group today.

Any tips for winding babies at night. Michael is one week old today but gets quite unsettled after his feeds at night where he takes 2-3 ounces. I wind him and sometimes use infacol but he still seems to stir half an hour after dropping off.

I use infacol too apparently using it has a cumulative effect and can take using it before every feed for a week to work properly. I sit against the head board with my legs out and pop Isobel on her tummy over my legs and pat her back. This seems to bring up all her wind. X

we've stopped using it now as it stopped working after a while. joe farts more than burps

Alexander was feeding all night too! I just kept him next to me on the bed.

Had a fun day out with Caine and Alex at soft play and lunch with my nanna. Knackered now! I fancy a beer tonight or a biggggg glass of red :)

Catherine thats how I sleep with Alex when he is unsettled x

Ive just found this thread, never knew it existed!

Hi everyone!

Susie if Michael is waking after half hour id guess that he's nodding off before fully winded and the trapped wind is disturbing him. I find gripe water better than infacol.

Gripe water works much better for us also

Hi Emily!

We had a crappy night here in that she was up at 3am for a feed and did not want to go back to sleep! One v tired mummy here!

dear me sounds like everyone been having a few restless/sleepless nights! (((hugs))) Think I might have to head to bed soon, since this little madam has zonked out on the sofa next to me, she don't usually bed down til 10-11pm so a little early for her! Might as well get some zzzzzz before she wakes for a feed!

Good to see our LO's are gaining some good weights, Fearne is 9lb already, safe to say she has no problems gaining lol, my newborn stage has passed pretty quickly tho with her being so big! Lots of clothes/nappies I'd bought to pass onto my pg friend since she's too big for them already!
x

Im really trying not to have Quinn spend so much time in bed with us. OH sleeps pretty hard and a few times Ive found his arm on Quinn so it scares me. If hes feeding on my right side its no problem but if its my left side for a feeding I try to put him back in bed after. But last night he did spend the night in bed with us all night which means i didn't sleep so well.

I'm getting sleep deprived and grouchy. For some reason Avery wants to eat every three hours at night when she goes 4ish during the day. I wish I could get her to eat more, but she can't seem to handle more than 4 ounces. Three times this week when she ate more, she started puking up what she ate. I feel horrible for saying, I can't wait until she's older. Newborns are precious, but older babies are so much easier.

We've had a bad day. After BFing group Kieran would not go down for a sleep. He got himself so over tired and could not be calmed. It was horrible. Finally at around 530 pm he went to sleep and we've just woke now around 9pm. We may be in for a long night now.

I think we've hit growth spurt days, feeds slowly increased in frequency then yesterday went to every 2 hours then evening was every hour. Woke at 4.30 this morning so 5 hours he went and ouch im engorged ivbe leaked through breast pad my bra t shirt and bed is soaked.

totally jealous you ladies LO's are eating further apart than every 2 hours! Then every morning starting at 5:30 am.. she wants to feed every hour.... not a growth spurt.. this happens every morning  She's been gaining 2 oz a day! Her weight gain has slowed down but her feeding hasn't...

I thought maybe she isn't getting enough milk after each feeding, but I can still express some after she's done  My poor poor nipples... lol

Id love Jacob to switch and feed more in the morning than evenings. Agree on the poor nipples. He caught one with a finger nail last night OUCH!!!!!!!!
