January JellyBean mummies

I have been told that milk can affect baby but I only drink 1 glass of chocolate milk in the morning and that is pretty much all I drink so I dont want to cut taht out as I dont drink lots of milk as it is. I will try it thou if the caffeine isnot the problem.

Quinn has been sleeping one 5 hour stretch and one 4 hour stretch every night since he was a week old.

Lisa-you must be so happy to be home! Glad that the flight went so well but that is crap about the formula!!!

For the ladies on antibiotics and BFing I've been told that antibiotics increase your chance of getting thrush so you may want to take a probiotic while on the meds.

Kieran had a strange night which of course had me worried! He ate around 1130 then we went up to bed and he didn't wake until 430!! I was so concerned something was wrong with him but he seems fine today. Is 5 hours at night ok for a 6 week BF baby??

Laura - I've added you on FB. My pic is a pi of Kieran

Lucy- I'm not sure which one is you there are a few peopl that share your name on FB. What is your profile pic??

Has anyone else read the threa in baby club titled funny things said in labour??? If your up for a great laugh it is definatley worth reading

Hi ladies just a quick hello from me as my bnb is playing up still. It doesnt load properly and when it does takes ages to load and I have to refresh the page as it loads blank. That's why I haven't been posting and not because I've lost interest or anything like that. I miss you ladies. A friend of mine messaged an admin about it for me but she never got a response :(

We are still breastfeeding which is going surprisingly well. Hayley's sickness has settled down on it's own and the dr is not concerned as she is gaining weight nicely and has lots of wet nappies so they are happy she is keeping/getting enough milk. The breast feeding support lady from a group I go to thinks it's down to the flow of my milk rather than a problem with Hayley. Which is a massive relief for us. Hayley is doing great and Phoebe is good as gold with her. She's very loving, caring and gentle with her.

As a few of you have seen on facebook I am take a back seat from there as ive had alot of negative comments etc that have been getting to me. As a number of people have said to me it's only because they are jealous but I'm going through a hard time at the moment and my confidence levels are through the floor and any negative comment is making me feel worse.

Hope everyone is settling in to being a mummy and enjoying their babies. As soon as my b&b sorts itself out I will read back threw the posts. I keep trying but everytime I move pages I get redirected to the main page :(

Yes 5 hours is ok for a 6 week old. In fact last night Quinn slept for 6 hours. OH gave him a bottle of my milk at 10pm and he didn't wake up until 4 am and then slept for another 4 hours. and ate and is sleeping again! whoo-hoo i got to wash my kitchen floors and clean up a little!

I told Mackenzie's doctor that she slept for 6 hours the other night and she said with her weight as it is, which is 4.86kg (10.7lb), I shouldn't worry if she sleeps even a straight 8hrs. Enjoy hun

Hi Hun it's a pic of me and hubby on our wedding day x x

Got the crazy mother in law down for tea thanks to my hubby! She is so trying to steal my baby already, making comments about breastfeeding and asking how long I'll do it for and how she feeds. She will be trying to work out when Paul will let her have her, easy you mad cow - when hell freezes over! I only let Corey go there because he can tell me what she's been doing and saying!

Just hiding out in my bedroom feeding, good time to cluster feed Fearne, come on don't let mummy down ;-) x

Has anyone else been on antiobiotics while breastfeeding? I'm sure my antibiotics are making her ill, she seems to have an upset tummy, much more gassy, and poo-ing all the time. Its breaking my heart to see her upset like this :(

Not on antibiotics but am bf and Ollie does 5-8 poos a day - hv says this is fine.... he is getting wind too...

hx

Well feeling half human this morning as managed to get a few blocks of 2 hours sleep. Not the long deep sleeps we all dream of but better than being awake huh? When is it that babies start to sleep for longer periods between feeds? Maybe that can occupy my dreams. Off out to the post office in a bit with the little man and may even take a cruise around the town if it goes well.

We're like this mostly - do get the odd 4 hour nap but never where you want it - eg night time will be 2 hourly!

Will race you to the 6 hour naps!!

hx

Any tips for getting a 2 week old into a sleep routine? or not bother? he really is touch and go with staying in his moses basket - sometimes we get 4 hour naps, mostly it's between 30 mins to 2 hrs. He could sleep easily on us but trying not to get in to bad habits.... also how do you stop the rocking/nursing to sleep so they drop off in their cots by themselves??

I'll post in baby club too but thought that we're all at similar stages.....

hx

I agree with Jade that 2 weeks is a little young but saying that we have been trying with Toby since about 2 weeks old to start getting him into a routine and *touch wood* it seems to be doing ok so far with the odd dodgy day. We bath him between 7 and half past (well we try to make it the same time but depends when daddy gets home as thats his job for bonding wih him), then in PJ's on whilst we put the cot mobile on for him to listen to. After that we take him downstairs for a bottle and we usually turn the lights off in the living room then. He sometimes goes to sleep after this bottle but sometimes he is happy to be awake or half asleep but just cuddle with us. The he usually has another bottle about 10-half past and is down and in his basket by 11. I hope that helps hun. I'm also hoping to start baby massage soon but the class is full till easter so having to wait till then. Taht can really help settle them too.

xxx

Def going to try and make going to be the same each time - getting the timing right is hard as we're doing baby led bf.....

Many thanks :)

She's been doing more than that I think though I haven't been counting but I think that the lactic acid drops we've been giving her are finally working now cos she's been a completely different baby today, very content, passing wind without screaming and sleeping well :)

the same pic as in my siggy

I cant find you! Can you find me? I am Jade on the others profile if you have anyone else?

Hey ladies just a quick post to say....I'm in the UK!!!!!!! Soooo excited to be back! The trip was v long (10 hours to UK, 3 hour wait in heathrow then half an hour to manchester) but Holly was a star and apart from a small screaming fit as we set off from america she slept for 7 hours then was up for an hour then asleep for another 2 and then slept in her baby carrier through heathrow, woke up for a feed, slept again on domestic flight and then all way home in the car! Bless her! John and I didnt sleep at all until 6p, last night but were then up at midnight as the tie difference made it 8am for us  I managed to get back to sleep so am hopefully closer to being back on the right time, 8 hours is a lot to adjust to though!

On another note, we took tins of premade formula with us to save faffing with sterisling/making and heating bottles on plane. These were fine for America but when we went through baggage checks at heathrow they made me open 3 tins (holly didnt eat as much as expected so we had 5 left) and taste them. This meant that 2 of those tins have gone to waste now! I wasnt amused! They got through america fine but for a domestic flight we had to open 3! Bloody ridiculous!

Anyway, will try and keep up with you all but may not post much so :hugs:

Bet you are so glad to be back, and well done Holly for being a good little girl xx

Fraggles, whats your name? Your on the NP threads alot too arnt you? :D

pming you hun

Oooops will empty in box now hun xx

I heard an old wives tale once babies pass 10/11 pound they start sleeping longer

Everyone ok? Diet went to pot today :( so feel pants about that but had a day out shopping and lunch with mum. Knackered now! Alex was so good tho. He guzzles down 5oz of expressed milk no probs little porker!

Anyone heard from iPretty lately? FB maybe? Wondering how the hearing test went with her LO. It was about 2 weeks ago she was asking me about Quinns second hearing test.
