January JellyBean mummies

So glad Quinn is having better days Laura.

Kieran had a very strange night. He ate at 7:30 then we went up to bed. He started stirring around 12 so I thought he would get up to eat, next thing I knew he was stirring again looked at the clock and it was 2 once again we both fell back asleep and finally at 3:30 he woke to eat-so he went about 8 hours. I felt terrible even though he was just fine.

Naomi - I'm also freaked out by the injections. Kieran won't be gettin his 2 month jabs until he is 3 months but the thought of it really makes me sad

We are there next week for jabs too :(

I managed to have a shower with Caine, have lunch, clean the whole of downstairs while Alex slept :) he keeps waking but he goes straight back down, he is knackered I think!

I really need to go food shopping later and I cant be bothered!

Sar - 12 pound is great! :)

i havent done a big food shop since Joe was born!! Well actually thats a lie, ive been once and I left him at home. OH has done it or I just go up and get bits day to day!!!

Not a good day for me Amelia has only gained 30 grams so she still has 160 grams (4oz) to get to her birth weight and she needs to get there by next Friday, I can't feed her any more than I am so I have to express and breast feed and hope that helps if not she may have to go onto formula, I feel such a failure but oh is being so supportive saying I can't do anymore than I am but it's not helping

Toby has been better this afternoon. He has had his bottles 3 hours apart but I think its because we've been out in the car and pram lol. Not sure what he will be like tonight but its the wknd now and OH won't have to worry about getting up for work and can help me hopefully.

Has anyone had this 6 wk problem? I feel like I am imagining things!?!

xx

Not there yet Leanne so cant comment, seems like the 6th week growth spurt is a common one tho.

Joanna, My son lost a fair bit of birth weight and wouldnt feed. I was tod to wake to feed every 2 hours in the day and after each breastfeed to top up with expressed milk. I found i was only able to express an ounce but was leaking so used breastshells to add that bit extra, it did the trick tho. Wha regime have they advised you to do? x

That's what they told me to do jo so it's good to know it can work thanks

:hugs: Jacob took nearly month to regain birthweight I upped feeding to 2 hourly

Good luck abstersmum. Kieran was a slow gainer to begin with. You can also do compressions while feeding and pumping to increaSe flow xx

Had a crap night been in tears this morning, constant feeding and screaming so fell out with OH for not helping and giving a shit! :(

:hugs: Jade.

DR thinks Jacob has reflux :( we have gaviscon to try

I saw your status on FB. Isn't it better for him to have reflux than colic? Is reflux not easier to treat?

Bloody hell Ladies, this mothering malarkey is one step forward and two steps back!!!
Joe doesnt have to go back to hospital anymore they are happy with the dainty little premature baby lol that weighs 12lb!!!!
He was showing off cooing and smiling, I think he thought he was gonna get a bath as he was naked lol

Aww, little charmer! Glad he's doing well.

Ok so I am officially hanging up the super woman cape and saying I actually can't cope on my own at the moment. I am going to stay with some friends for a bit to have some support even though Michael is a really good baby. Please tell me I'm not a failure as a Mum ladies....

Susie, you're doing great. My DH was home with me for the first 6 weeks and on the first day he went back I phoned him and cried over how I just can't do this alone! So if you've lasted this long, I think you're doing fab hun!

It's great that you have your OH's support. Hopefully the 2 hourly feeds will help and you're little one will gain!

Do any of you ladies find that when your LO poos it goes up their back. It happens too often with Mackenzie. Is it perhaps that I'm not making her nappy tight enough?

:hugs: Susie! You're an amazing mama! The fact that you're not ashamed to ask for help PROVES it! :)

Good call susie! Your a great mum! I'm glad you got close friends to help out, it's tough going with a new baby!

Fraggles my friends baby - also Jacob :-) has reflux, only diagnosed after 6 months of hell, the gaviscon within a week has made him like a different baby! Hope you see good results for your Jacob too!

Jade hope you having a better evening, big hugs! Tiredness makes coping a hundred times harder so hope you got some rest today and get a good sleep tonight!

I'm trying to go bed myself but Fearne has not left the boob for longer than 5 minutes for many hours now! Getting a bit fed up now grrr x

What are compressions

You basically squeeze your breast at the top and bottom at the same time to help bring the milk down. Have a look at dr jack newman's website their is a lot of info on there about compressions.

Well ladies I had a great night out at bingo with my mom and brother. OH didn't havfe such a good night. i guess Quinn was screaming for a bit, then he fed him a 3oz bottle nd he screamed alittle more but was fine by the time i got home. i was only gone for 4 hours. Hope the screaming is not coming back.
