Same here! Zombie mummy here too. Olly has had sniffles all night and decided to take all his feeds early and wake up for the day at 6am. I was up from 3-4 waiting for OH to get home from work, he went on his motorbike so had to keep the dogs quiet so they didnt wake Olly up with their barking. I could do with a fairy godmother today, got loads to do.
On a funnier note, Olly is lying on his changing mat watching glee and dancing.

Hey all! I have a sleepy baby too as he decided he wouldn't fall asleep as he usually does towards the end of hos middle off the night bottle! Took an hour of snuggling with him to get him off then i put him down and he did his really annoying loud sleeping which sounds very much like an awake baby but he actually isnt grrr. So I was awake between 4 and 6 then he woke at 7 fo his bottle! Then the little tinker only took 2 oz of a 5oz bottle and fell back to sleep. I just laid down with him in bed and we both slept again thank goodness till 9:20. It was much needed as I didn't do his drea, mfeed til midnight thinkin it would force later feeds and therefore a little wknd lie in! This little mr os too contrary for his own good! Good job hes cute lol!!

Hugs fraggles!

Sarah can't wait to hear your news!

Lol @ Olly dancing to glee! Toby really likes it when we sing and dance too.

Feel better soon jade!

Angelblue good to see you on here and glad your gorgeous girls are doing well! Fingers crossed for your checkup. Weren't your 2 the 1st jellybeans to arrive?

Me and other half are going out this afternoon/evening. My parents are coming to have Toby for us and we're going into town to have a drink and then to the cinema! YAY for grown up time and not being mummy for a few hours!!

I was expressing when they were in NICU for the 1st 6wks, with electric pump the medela ones they had there were fab the tommee tippee one I had a home was sooooo crap in comparison! I was double pumping too - had quite a big supply, loads in freezer!!! I tried to breastfeed but they were so small they couldnt latch on properly, I was trying to use nipple shields and everything but we just couldnt manage to do it so in the end I had to make the decision to stop trying  I was running myself into the ground - change evie, try bf, then give her rest down her tube, then change georgia, try bf, then give her rest down her tube, then go and express and then I had about 1/2 hour left in between - I got NO sleep! I was staying in one of the bedrooms at the NICU for 2wks while trying to establish bf  so when we came home I started doing half and half ebm and formula until I'd used all of my supply and they are fully formula now. To be honest I dont know how I wouldve managed now bf 2! I really beat myself up about it at the time I felt so guilty, it was the one thing I could do for them and I couldnt even do that, but at least they had about 8wks of my milk.

Wow that turned into an essay!!!

8 weeks is fantastic. When my twin nephews were born my SIL BF'd for 13 days. She couldn't do it any longer and they were 6lbs 6oz and 6lbs 11oz. They latched on good so you should be VERY proud that you were able to give them your milk for so long and that you tried soo hard even with them being so little. Its no easy task to BF one baby let alone 2!!! Congrats to you going so long. BTW what is your name?

I think the worst is baby hiccups were it sounds like there crying but there still asleep, Smiffy enjoy your adult time I'm also planning on having some of that myself tonight. and noone has to go any where as I'm already at my parents :haha:

We've had a nice family day today. First one in a while as Luke has worked most weekends since Hayley was born. Had a lazy morning then I drove to macc hospital to collect my mum after her op yesterday and then this afternoon we went into town to get a birthday present for our friends little boy who is 2 next Saturday and to look at new toys for Phoebe and to also look in the matalan sale for the next size clothes for Phoebe. We're now sat watching the rugby whilst Phoebe has a power nap.

Feel really bad now for this as so many of you had a bad night but Hayley was a perfect little angel last night. She fed at 1am and then didn't wake for a feed till gone 6. Hoping for a repeat tonight, don't think im going to get it as Hayley has gone 4 hourly with feeds today. Not sure if this is because she was in the car this morning or whether it was the fresh air this afternoon.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend

Well Jacob has slept well this afternoon so not a clue how he will be tonight. He cries in pain the so much wind comes out. Poor little love. Had an hours nap but still feeling rough.

Hope the house viewing goes well sar

Hope your LO has a good night Fraggles :hugs:

AFM - Ollie now weighs 11 lb 1.5 oz!! But - would not settle at all yesterday - on us or otherwise - I desperately tried to get him to nap all day and he got gradually more and more overtired - ended in a meltdown in the evening - OH eventually got him to sleep and held him while I got a nap - he slept on OH 9-12 and then I held him till 1am and we got him in his moses basket till 2am - so a good sleep for Ollie in the end it was just a nightmare getting there!! he the slept 2.30 - 4.45 and 5.30 - 7.30 - he's been touch and go today but better this evening thank goodness ( touch wood ). I wish Ollie would take a dummy - we've tried 3 different shapes and he just wants boobs!!! I think he's be easier to manage if he did.

Also - when he wakes up he goes extra wriggley and rubs his face ( sometimes quites "aggressively" ) with his hands - issue is that he won't fall asleep by himself and if he is slightly awake when we put him down he goes through this also and wakes himself back up - is this normal and is there a way to deal with it? I really want to be able to get him to fall asleep in his moses basket as at the mo I am having to hold him till he is fast asleep and if he stirs while I am laying in down it can be back to square 1!!

hb1 - My Olly doesn't really like dummies either, he will sometimes take one when hes overtired. He also wakes himself up when i put him down to sleep. We have a swinging crib, so once ive fed him in the dark i will put him down and he will wake himself up slightly. Once ive rocked the swing a bit, he falls off to sleep. Could you try that with your moses basket by holding it with the handles and rocking it slowly?? i don't have one so not sure if it is possible. You could also try putting something that smells of you in there, maybe that will trick him into thinking you are holding him.

We have a gliding crib - he won't go in there yet - we are trying a slow transition - currently his moses basket sits in there at night - but downstairs it is just the moses basket - I don't think I could swing that but will experiment with the crib.

He does go to sleep at night - ableit slowly and on me - it's getting him off during the day... am thinking of swaddling though to see if that helps....

By the way I finally got round to writing my birth story in my journal if anyone is interested to have a read (click the link in my signature) I warn you though it is quite long and detailed! There are lots of pics, I am writing our NICU journey to put in there too.

It has taken a few weeks of trying but Quinn is just now starting to take a dummy so keep trying and the baby's will eventually take them.

Definaly try swaddling if he wakes himsleft with rubbing his face.

I have been trying to get Quinn to fall asleep on his own these past couple days...instead of feeding him to sleep. If he wakes when i put him down I give the yuckie (dummy) and if its specifically nap time (like when my daughter is napping or if shes in bed for the night) I have him swaddled. For nap time, when hes not napping in bed with me because im staying awake, I usually end up putting him in the swing for naps. but at night time i put him in the bassinet and when i go to bed i carry him up to the bassinet in our room. It has not been going perfect but i think hes starting to get it. Night time is the worst. I feed him between 8-9pm usually and i would like him to sleep until midnight but he doesn't seem to want to sleep until 10-11pm. Im going to try to keep him awake from 5-8pm tonight to see if that helps. I gotta get him into more of a routine so that i can have some "me time" at night and be able to keep up with the housework.

I think its going to be a long night. Olly only had 1oz of his bedtime bottle! Its usually 5oz. I was thinking i should give him a dreamfeed when i go to bed but i may leave it and see how he goes.

My friend had both her babies in bed at 7pm from day one, I find that bizarre because my newborns have naturally settled at 11pm I guess it could make a bit of difference being bottle not breast fed but 4 hours??? What am I doing wrong?

What time do your little ones settle? X

hb1 I wrap jacobs arms down in a blanket to stop the face rubbing otherwise he does started jumps where his arms shoot outwards.

Oliver has gone to bed at 8pm since he was 1 week old. He kind of got himself into his own routine after that.

Jo im lucky to get him settled before 2am  I mean he will sleep in his basket downstairs but try to take him to the cot and he cries and cries. Last few nights not including last nights disaster he has been settling between 11-12 gosh that was hard on my boobs though when he woke at 5am. He's asleep now but he's unsettled so expecting him waking for a feed in the next 2 hours.
