Jehovah's Witnesses

would someone be able tell me, what would happen if someone was a JW and they went against their religion and got blood transfusion, what would happen to them when they one day died? would they suffer for it?

Not necessarily, what do u mean by suffer? if they were dead they wouldnt be suffering but if you mean would they get ressurected and rewarded with eternal life well, we cant answer only God can, he sees whats in peoples hearts. He would know if a person was sorry for it or if they believe they made a mistake, remember he wants all to be saved and repent. He is the ultimate judge no one else, and he understands our imperfections, i mean noone wants to die, esp if they know a blood transfusion can save their life. Its not that they would do it to blatantly to rebel against God. But really in this day and age blood transfusions are getting less and less necessary with all the advancements in non blood treatment. I guess its a matter of trusting God and knowing that abiding by his laws in the long run, is the best way. Afterall he created us so he knows what is best :flower: But if they continued to disobet his laws and in other areas too, when they knew very well it was wrong then it could be a different story, but as i said no one knows but God.

For example my cousin after giving birth was told she would die if she didnt have a transfusion. After much consideration and meeting with medical proffesionals she took a non blood option. Wel she made a full and speedy recovery and the doctors said if she had taken real blood, the recovery would have been alot slower. x

I don't get it - every religion in the world thinks their religion is the right one and everyone else is being idolatrous - if you question this they ALL say they have faith that their religion is the correct one. How does anyone know what is right? x

Thats why you have to stick by the bible, gods laws, not mans.

Sorry for all questions, just gets me thinking and dont understand what the problem is with blood transfusions, and i get confused when i hear loads of diffrent stuff from the bible as i have never read one or heard anything from one. :flower:

I'm not a JW but I believe that they do not allow blood transfusions based on the scripture verse Leviticus 17:14 which says "You may not eat the blood of any sort of flesh", it's their interpretation of what the scripture meant.

Also Acts 15:28,29 - where it is grouped in with fornication and idolatary to emphesise its importance that we abstain from blood

I recall a Sunday meeting when I was about 11 or so that dealt with thus exact question. If only I hadn't been so bored and actually listened I could have given you an on depth answer to this question :). One of my main beefs with them is that little kids are dragged to these meetings and are just bored witless by them. Otoh I used to enjoy the bible studies at their homes. They were so much mire cozy and relaxed... I actually listened occasionally and it was interesting even if I didn't agree with it.

I'm living proof btw that they don't indoctrinate people. Their teachings are accurate, IMO, according to what the bible says. But I came to a point where I realised that I didn't AGREE with much of what the bible said.

If someone had no idea why accepting or giving blood was "sinful" and died before Armageddon, then my understanding is they will be given a second chance via resurrection. :)

surely if you wholeheartedly believe in your religion and follow it because you believe what it states is gods will, come judgement day he wont penalize you if you were following the "wrong" religion? he would embrace you for living your life as you believed he wanted you too live it? well, thats i would like to think anyway :flower:

Lol :haha: True, But little kids are bored by alot of things, they just dont have the attention span of an adult. I know i used to get bored by school alot unless it was PE or playtime haha, but nonetheless mum made me go as she knew it would benefit me in the long run. Same reasoning for parents taking their children to meetings, or church for that matter. It amazing what you do actually take in, the amount i learnt without even realising is crazy, because i heard and studied it so much, ive retained much more than i thought now that im an adult

Eventually its up to the kids to make their own choices, hence i stopped going to meetings when i was about 13 as hanging out with my friends, drinking, smoking going to parties etc at the time seemed so much more interesting, guess thats part of growning up, you soon learn.

At least these kids are getting raised with good morals and standards to live by, their parents are trying to set an example, but in the end, everyone has to make their own choice. And here i am back studying with Jehovahs witnesses again, sometimes you have to learn the hard way!!

Even if that person believed that it was gods will that he strap explosives to himself and blow up ad many non believers ad possible?

Such a tolerant and forgiving god would not have condemned us all to suffering and death because if the sin of two people.... Ok I'm speculating, but am I the only person who thinks that's illogical in the extreme?

once again it depends on whats in the persons heart. If thats all they knew and they thought they were doing the right thing, then they havent come to a knowledge about the truth about God. But then again, this person could just be pure evil ( and im sure some of them are) so only God knows for sure.

The suffering and death wont last forever tho, he will more than make it up to us in paradise......we will be able to enjoy the real life then.

Adam and Eves blatant disobideince even tho they had everything they wanted and more raised some serious questions.... would and can humans remain faithful even when tempted, even under trial? It challenged Gods right to rule, and this couldnt be resolved just by wiping out Adam and eve and starting again, remember thousdands of angels would have been watching, as well as the instigator, Satan. How would that have made God look, like he thought they were right?

By following the bible and Gods laws closely now, as imperfect humans with many trials and temptations, millions are proving satan a liar

Time was needed to prove once and for all, the outcome if humans were left to rule themselves. He has allowed time for us to reach our full potentials in alot of ways. But have we really progressed, does human rule fail? Are we capable of looking after the earth without his guidance? The answer is very clear. x

ahh right thanks, i think id probs need to learn more about it to have a better understanding lol, its quite intressting learning about it even though im not a believer myself. Might go look up some more questions on google  lol as i want to know who wrote the bible and if god loves everyone why have certain things you can and cant do.

I never once got bored at church TBH, I just didn't believe it as I grew up

The bible answers the question on who wrote it. Men penned the bible ( around 40) over a period of 1,600 years. They were born along by Gods spirit, or worked liked secretaries so to speak. The words they were writing were inspired by God.

There has to be things we can and cannot do, the rules are there to protect us. The problems we have in the world can all be traced back to not abiding by the laws in the bible. Imagine for example what the world would like with out any rules at all? An even bigger mess!

no not those people because god doesnt condone violence etc etc so those people obviously are the exception to the rule? when you get into it theres obviously an arguement to every reason you can give to why its true.

no but it all came down to the temptation? adam and eve had a choice not to give in to the temptation but they couldnt. and he warned them not to but they did anyway.

but im not sure if this is entirely right, my knowledge of the bible is fairly basic so correct me if im wrong but doesnt the world have to become such a terrible place to live in again before Jesus can come again? and then when judgement day happens people will be judged on the things they have done in there life, and will be given the choice to follow and accept god and be given eternal life?

i spent alot of time studying scriptures with mormon missionairies so im sorry if that is actually from the book of mormon and not the bible lol. its all very confusing.

Does that include meat? x

No but meat should be well bled, which is common practice anyway.

Some people seem to be giving ShanandBoc a bit of a hard time; She has been asked dozens of questions, all of which she has answered fully, and politely. I for one am finding it very interesting, despite not being religious.

Can I ask, regarding Adam and Eve; does their existance mean that JW's dont believe we evolved from ape's, but only Adam and Eve? And if so, was there a world before humans were around? Dinosoars etc? Why was there such a long time before humans were on the planet?

Sorry if Im being stupid :flower:

No I do not believe that it does. The Old Testament does lay out specific restrictions on which meats can be consumed, i.e land animals have to have split hooves and chew the cud which rules out pigs and sea animals have to have fins and scales, so no shell fish. But typically only Jewish people follow the Kosher laws, so I'm not familiar with the JW's rules.

Agreed, I'm really interested too

I did send her a message to say I hope my comments aren't coming accross as blunt.
