June Dragonflies 2016 Babies and Beyond!

Oh seems I was nervous for a reason, 6 week check picked up that Juni has a heart murmur. Being referred for a chest echo.

Aw Arthur is so cute, I love it when they start getting little chunky arms and legs.

Hope you have a good time camping mum22 :)

I'm jealous of all the babies doing such long stretches of sleep. I'm shattered! Really fed up at the moment, still another 6 weeks of the summer holidays and my eldest is so bored and massively playing up. I don't drive and the bus links round here aren't very good. All my friends with children work in the week so I can't organise play dates, we've already had our holiday this year and DH has no time off so it's going to drag so badly!

Oh becy I'm so sorry Sydney is so poorly :hugs: how long does she need to be over antibiotics for? I'd the infection clearing? So glad she doesn't need the oxygen anymore. What a scary time :hugs: I hope things are better today

Tink I'm dreading it! Xander is so high energy and after this week I'll say he's massively spoilt and selfish too :-/ fingers crossed we all survive the summer!! At least he's still a super Super gig brother :)

Angel I'm so sorry Juni's check has found a murmer. Do you know how long the referral will take?

It's been a few crap days here. Kailani has been super restless and unsettled. Nursing constantly but always seems hungry.... Then she spits up all over.
:( not that she seems ill.. I'm thinking growth spurt and my milk quantity isn't up to the amount she wants yet and then she chugs so fast her belly gets upset.. I don't know. She has also gone from like 4-5 poopy diapers a day to one sometimes 2.. But it's normal poo not like she's constipated. Ugh why are babies so confusing?!

I'm sorry to hear that, I hope the referral comes through quickly. :hugs:

Just wrote a massive post and lost it :dohh: long story short jalilma that's all completely normal for a bf baby. Georgia has been cluster feeding so much she's making herself feel uncomfortable too - I'm assuming growth spurt.

Also after the early days bf babies poo a lot less - up to once a week is typical but it can be longer than that and still be "normal".

Leo has been doing the same. normally he would just feed of one side but he has been draining both sides then spewing loads up. plus he guzzles it so quickly he is quite windy.

H is bottle fed mostly and she seems to eat too much then spit up. I never know how much to give her.

Angel, I hope Juni can see the specialist soon. Was the dr worried?

Dr said it's most likely an innocent murmur as she is growing fine, but it might explain why her breathing didn't recover as fast after her infection early on. We should see a specialist within 2 weeks.

Angel - try not to worry. It's a very good sign of it hasn't been picked up til now.

Becy - I hope Sydney is feeling better soon.

Georgia's hernia went in by itself today. It has popped out again since bit seems a bit smaller. Fingers crossed this is the beginning of it going back in.

I have to share this photo - 2 babies born 2 days apart, one at 37 weeks and one at 34 weeks. They are on opposite ends of the centile chart!

Sorry angel :hugs: how bloody stressful! Fingers crossed =)

Becy- hoping your lo is well mended now and is on her way home ?! :hugs:

Pixie- I hope you ended up having an awesome holiday. It's almost like kids wait until they know it's costing us money and act there worst. This applies to everything from holidays to meals out etc :haha:

Not much going on here. Still persevering with the breastfeeding. Did manage to pump two bottle at the weekend so it made leaving the house so much less stressful! Have put away all the newborn clothes now.. it's flying by!

Does anyone know what the difference between the health visitor app at six weeks is to the 6-8 week check at the GP office.
Typically I got a letter for the health visitor app yesterday and it's on exactly the same day as my gp appointment but annoyingly ten minutes apart so not much chance of that haha. Just never thought about it before and now I'm wondering why they are both at the same time(as in 6-8weeks).. do u really need to go to both ?! Are they even optional ?!

Gp check for us was just a quick look over baby, checked for clicky hips, measured head circumference and 8 week jabs.

HV check is developmental. Off the top of my head
Does baby make eye contact, does she smile or laugh, does she keep her hands clenched when awake or does she open them, can she hold her head up, does she track or turn her head to voices, does she know bottle/boob means food is coming . . And millions of others :dohh: HV came when G was only 4 days corrected and obviously couldn't do anything on the list so they left the list of questions so we can tick them off as she grows into them

Dory that's a lovely pic! It's amazing how different babies of the same age can be. Is Georgia Lauren really long? Georgia Florence weighs a bit less I think but she's got massive cheeks and thigh rolls now :haha:

There is 6lb between the two of them :-O
Georgia Lauren has never had her length measured but I do think she's long because I'm 5'9" and hubby is 6 foot. She doesn't have a single roll on her thighs which is so weird compared to my other 2.

The hv didn't book a 6 week check for G but that's because she forgot. She was only meant to do head circumference and weight in prep for the GP check. G failed her 6-8 week check because they did it for her actual age. She was meant to have it repeated this week but they couldn't fit her in so she's booked for the 9th August?!

Oh and Pixie - Georgia Lauren weighed 10lb exactly today.

Dory I still smile every time I see your avatar. It's just so cute! Who is the other baby?

Tinkerbelle, Róise doesn't sleep that well, you're not alone! (Cold comfort eh? ;))

:hugs: Angel.

Starlight, that's a great stretch! Hope you get some more of those :)

Joey, I saw the Sure start lady today & will hopefully get to do baby massage & baby swim so I'm delighted - thanks for the tip about it being for everyone!

Róise got her appointment today for her 8 week jabs on 11th August when she'll actually be a day shy of 10 weeks. I'm not very pleased about the delay as I'm dreading her getting them so I'd like them over with! & I have to get a filling fixed which means an injection in the mouth so I'm dreading that too :(

Squig, H has her two month appt that day too. She's going to get the 8 weeks shots then too. Hoping it goes well for our babies!

My GP was pushing me to get the mirena coil.. Anyone have any experience?

Yes I had it for years due to endometriosis rather than contraception. It was fine for me. It lasts 5 years so since we're going to TTC number 2 in March, I'm not going to get another one yet. What are your concerns or what do you want to know about it?

Angel, my ob suggested mirena too at my 6 week check. I ended up just getting an rx for the birth control I was on prior to conceiving, but it turns out that the name brand is no longer free because several generics were made in the past 9 months! I read bad things online about the generics so I'm opting not to take them. Mirena sounds a bit scary to be because it stays in the body but I'm not educated about it. I think we will just use condoms.
