Hi girls, I've been MIA all weekend, but I have checked in here and there to read and stay caught up. I wanted to say welcome to SarahLou also! You found a great group here.
AFM, just been anxiously awaiting for this morning to get here, so I could do the hcg quant. They usually call with same-day results around 3:30 or so. So I guess I'll know then. I've def been more hopeful for this IUI than I originally thought I would since I'd been so focused on the IVF instead. But ALL the odds were def in our favor once the IUI rolled around, so it got me pretty excited. So I will be more bummed than I originally thought if my blood test today is neg. But that's okay... I'll be able to shake it off pretty quickly, and just continue the plan and be on our merry way to IVF, with egg retrieval being in about three weeks. It's really helping a LOT knowing that's right around the corner!
I forgot about your early blood test. How accurate would it be at your dpo? I have never had a blood test before. Everyone tells me to wait until a pos hpt. But I know you are doing it so you can be more cautious on your next set of meds.
I think with the 2 eggs you have a great shot this time, as well...especially since you guys kept up with the BD schedule.
Well, FF shows me at 9dpo, but it's taking into account the larger temp spike. My nurse still thinks I'm 10dpo because she feels the 1st egg was released the day of the IUI, and the 2nd egg was just delayed a day. Yep, they usually have us do an HPT at 14dpo too, but since I started the Lupron last Thurs, and they could tell I was nervous about potentially being prego, they were kind enough to offer the blood test early to ease my mind (I thought that was nice of them, since they know Lupron has no affect on an embryo this early!). Blood tells earlier than an HPT because the blood tells you the exact number of hcg in your system (even if it's just a 12), whereas an HPT won't pick it up until whatever level the test was made for. For example, a FRER supposedly at 25, I think. This isn't protocol though... otherwise, every woman out there would be asking to just come in at 10dpo for a blood test.
