62cms wow!!! :o

Layla has the fussy time kd describes in the evenings too.. She just feeds loads, stocks up for the night it seems because she goes 9 hours now on her first stretch of sleep :)

Nathan will smile very soon I'm sure, think Layla done it at 4/5 weeks. Now it's constant, her whole face lights up and she laughs her head off when daddy tickles her or if I sing to her. I nearly cry every time.. Proud mummy.

Amazing isn't it Char :cloud9: xxx

The smiling is awesome :) I've been trying to get it on video, but everytime I pull out my camera she just stares at it, like "wtf?!"

We just gave her her night-time bath and DH was washing in her neck folds and she did a big smile :) She seems to enjoy smiling at me in bed in the mornings, just before she starts whinging because she wants to get up

BTW, I have dissolvable stitches and they've started coming away. I'm not worried because someone on here had a similar thread very recently and apparently it can be normal...I pulled one away (wasn't attached anymore) earlier....but there's a really long one hanging down which is still very much attached... Anyway... So I'm not sure if it's a bad idea to continue having sex, or....what really! I think I can now see a stitch holding two bits of skin together, like my tear is separating a little bit  Eh, what do you guys think?

xx

Thanks everyone, I will see if either Emma's or the fussy baby routines work out for me - Nathan was 23.5" long at birth, I'll try to get him measured over the next few days. We just got home, collected MIL from Manchester Airport and now trying to work out what we're doing today. I have to work some of the days she is here but thats ok if she and Paul can take Nathan out with them - they can give him formula for those feeds and I can express if necessary.

KD I would ring your doctor and ask if this is normal hon xx

Have a good day all xxx

Oh DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!

Thankyou thankyou thankyou :hugs::hugs::kiss::kiss:

Super pressie xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I can not believe how long J was at 11days old!!!!
Waiting for the HV now.

D i love my routine, however sometimes because they are so young they do have days where they screw it all up!!! But he has been soooooooooooo good the last 6days, but then last night he woke at 1am and would go back down till 5am WTF????

I know from past experience this is a one off though, and know that my hard work is already paying off xxxxxxxxxxxx You just have to stick to it xxxxxxxx

Hey everybody!

I am not feeling good today. Been to water park with the girls and some friends and their children. I was sitting with the baby all the time and now feeling sooooo guilty cause of DD1, she had a good time but I wasn't there playing with her cause baby needed me.

Sorry for posting it on here, I just feel like I want to cry and I feel so guilty for that. Makes me feel better to write it all down though.

Oh Linn..................babies are so hard sometimes! At least DD1 had a good time xxxxxxxxxxxxx

yes she always needs me though.. I find it very hard! I wish I could have a half an hour to myself right now, just to lie in bed, but they are both awake. I feel veeeeery tired!!

Hi everyone  well the past week or so we seemed to be getting into a good routine and Ben started sleeping longer in the night too. But yesterday evening he started being really fussy and wanting to feed more (he's always a bit like this in the evening but yesterday was much worse). He did sleep 6 hours in a row, but then since he woke at 4am he's just wanted to feed and has only had little naps.

Ben will be 6 weeks tomorrow and I read about the 6 week growth spurt. Has anyone else experienced this sudden change in behaviour? Just wondering how long it lasted?

J was weighed yesterday and he has gone from 8lb 9oz to 9lb 8oz :cloud9:

He only woke at 3........but I was stupid and went to bed at 12......early night tonight I fear!

hey everybody

E has been sleeping better from 8-9 until 1 and then every 1-3 hrs which is really ok as she only feeds and the back down.. but I cant sleep anymore??? I slept 9-1.15 then feeding and cuddlng until 2 and then I was awake until 6am just tossing around!!! I do not get it... this morning I felt so dizzy and sick again :(

But no anxiety last night, which I pray pray pray is the meds working.

Hope you are all well.

How r u feeling Linn??

I was traumatised yesterday! J got stung on his neck by a wasp! Was so horrid..............Luckily i had cream and a comforting boob for him.

Glad you're feeling a bit better Linn - how about taking a nice warm bath with some lavender oil to see if you can get a good sleep after relaxing?

OMG Emma! I hate wasps...I HHHHAAATE them and I have an allergy to their stings, so I would freak if Evey got stung... :( Glad J was okay!

I just pumped 3 1/2 oz of milk with my pump....still got some in there, but my supply has definitely run away! Good to know sometimes I have almost the amount that Evey is taking though...it just seems to vary so much - I had to feed her for a minute on the boob this morn because my left one was SO sore and engorged...I just needed some relief...poor thing was super relaxed and enjoying it, but I was giving her formula and she is still puking with BM from the boob a bit, so I had to unlatch her and made her jump.... :( Wish I had stuck with it a lot better from the beginning (makes me more determined to with the next LO) but I was so stressed and formula is so much easier...rather than being covered in puke all the time and having her screaming and not knowing how much to top her up with, because we don't know how much she's actually got from the boob on that occasion...

Hi there, my MIL has been here since Wed and has been telling me on a daily basis I need to can the bf because its causing me so many problems - not her decision.... grrrrrrrrrrrr my nipples are still not healed so I'm using shields when I bf still and now I have constant pain. Seriously I wonder if I can continue and I am upset becauae I want to but dont know how practical it is for me. I still get MAJOR pain when he first latches on the shield and dont know if this is normal at 26 days old.....

My right boob has a huge painful lump below the nipple and the other side diagonally to the lump above the nipple is red, sore and hard too - I was getting feverish a few days ago and I have been reading about blocked ducts and mastitis - I am wondering if I have blocked ducts. I've been expressing and still feeding Nathan but he is also having formula as I cant keep up with him - he feeds all the time. Hoping to make an appointment with my GP tomorrow.

How many ounces do your babies have each day? I know bf you cant tell but I wanted to try to compare.

Emma poor Jake, hope your little man is ok xxxx Linn how are you doing? I hope you're feeling good and managing to sleep.

Nice avator pic KD! xx

they say that a baby should get 2.5 times his body weight.

So if he is 11lb he should be getting 28oz a day(11x2.5=27.5). He should be getting 6 feeds a day so that is 4.6oz a feed xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Marie put a cabage leaf in you bra! It helps.....................also try and express for every feed for the next 2 days?? If you want to bf, then express on the boob he has been on after he comes off and make sure you totally empty it!
Call me or email me if you need me xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Delilah: I had a really painful lump in my left boob and was worried about mastitis. I massaged the lump gently and expressed from it after each feed/every few hours for a couple of days and it seems better now. If you feel feverish though you should def see your GP as you might need antibiotics. Hope the BF gets easier hun :hugs: xx

Thats right purple01.
I git mastitis badly with DD2..................fever, shakes, temp of 40+..................was worse pain than the whole birth bit! But now i know what to do, so have been lucky.

im ok just veeeery tired! feeling better thanks to the meds, but they are causing insomnia :dohh: so back to doctors soon lol

sry not got much time right now! thx everybody for the support!

Hi ladies, sorry not been around, Zoëlle is really demanding, only sleeping on me and not being able to be put down even when awake. Things are slowly improving, she's been napping in her bassinette for over 1 hour so far, I'm so excited!
I'm in Ottawa visiting my mom. Didn't have time to read all the way back to what I've missed, but Linn, hope you're feeling better! Z also is up at 12 or 1 to feed, then 4 or 5. It takes me 30 minutes to settle her afterwards though so with every feed I lose 1.5 hours of sleep...

D, poor you! I agree with Emma and purple. Try milking the bumps toward the nipple, they may just be blocked ducts. If not unblocked, mastitis can set in. If you're feverish, definitely go see your GP as it may already be the case. And for your MIL, ignore her. Their generation formula fed and are very negative towards breast feeding. If it's something you want to do, even if it's only twice per day, keep it up!!!

Miss you ladies :-( Hoping Z will let me log on more often now, she'll be 8 weeks on Wednesday (already!).
