I would have to say no, it's not age appropriate and I don't particularly understand why a child in that age range needs to see it.
This is what I don't understand either, why would anyone choose an adult film when there are hundreds of child ones out there.
If we want to watch a film as a family we watch something like ice age or if me and my husband wanted to watch an adult film while the kids were still up we'd chose a comedy.
A few of my friends said it didn't faze their child, I just cant get my mind around children watching people being killed and having no emotions.
I can only speak for my child of course, but she's very aware of real vs pretend. So dinosaurs, monsters, etc. don't scare her because she knows it's fake. She knows that the dinosaur chomping someone isn't actually someone getting hurt.
But if it's a realistic situation or reality then she does get very emotional. She watched a movie where a dog was dying and she BAWLED. She also visits my terminally ill aunt quite often and gets very upset that she's so sick.
So I'm not too worried about her not being terrified or heartbroken over a scenario she knows is fake and I definitely think some kids have a better grasp of that than others.
