Kate McCann releasing a book...

I have to admit TattiesMum your thinking has made me question certain things. Especially seeing more information on the dogs  then I think that there hasnt been huge coverage for a while so if they did do something why would she dig it all up and release a book drawing more attention to the case again, I dunno if a guilty person would do that.

I must say though, although i have always believed that something wasnt right and there was more to madelines dissapearance, ive found myself being swayed when reading the extracts from her book in the paper this week. The one that stook out was the dogs picking up the smell of death or a body, Kate mccann has said that watching the video footage of the dogs searching was crazy, the dog handler was basically guiding the dogs to the correct car and also actually pointed to the area where they have now said blood was found. Its is also fact that this odour of death can only last up to 30 days after and this was 12 wks after her disappearance that the arranged for these dogs to do this. So you cant help but wonder, has it been a case of the portugese police majorly f***ing up with this enquiry and feeling the need to get someone and doing everything they could to try make the mccanns scapegoats...!

For money for the fund, maybe they need their mortgage paid again :growlmad:

Sam when was that photo taken? My baby died, in obviously very different circumstances, but it was just less than four weeks ago now, and yes I have laughed, I probably do look happy to the outside world and I am desperate to feel more, but it is well known that there is usually shock and numbness for the first six to twelve weeks.

Kaylynn I have never heard about her before, that is shocking.

Lora I guess in his bag they wouldnt of had to see her, but the smell you are right about. I think it was said that putting her in sand would of mummified her to some degree, I dont know though

I didnt smile for weeks and weeks, i certainly couldnt have gone and faced a camera and smiled for it, i didnt want anyone near me. They were seen smiling 10 days later on Maddies birthday? I just cried and cried on Eve's

:hugs::hugs::hugs:

I find those pictures of them on her birthday really hard to take too ... they look like they've just got married or something

here is an article https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/...roine-survivors--Just-problem--wasnt-day.html , the thing is these people arent like you or i, normal people...now im not saying the mccanns are defo this type but the point is they could be. we just dont know!

:nope: There are people like this about. We had a set of parents come onto SANDS once, claiming they had lost their daughter to cot death. They got lots of support, they even attended support groups and met people. Turned out it was a pack of lies

If you see the uncut videos of the dogs searching the handler really doesn't treat any of the cars differently (the dogs and their handler are English by the way so would have no incentive to collaborate with the Portuguese police in stitching anyone up).

Kate McCann wasn't present when the dogs were searching either.

As for the odour of death only lasting 30 days .... well LOL! I can assure you it lasts a LOT longer than that (in fact it's almost impossible to get rid of even to human noses, let alone a dog).

Awful Lora, I knew that happened on the internet but they turned up to your meetings? And for both of them :growlmad::nope:

It is a bit like munchausen's isnt it? They gain attention after one illness, and then create others to obtain sympathy.

Like Tattiesmum said, a small lie told in panic and heat of the moment, can very easily spiral out of control. Once you've commited to it, you can't go back. And once you have had a taste of the support and sympathy from people all over the world, I could see how some people could crave it

OMG that's just unbelievable :nope:

Can you not remember Tasha? Tia's Mum and Dad? They had met Caron and loads of other parents at some meeting or something  It went on months and months, no1 was sure if it was one person as Mum and Dad or 2 people but turned out it WAS 2 peopke- the man said his wife had a mental illness and Tia was the baby she wanted (why anyone would want a dead baby i will never know) but he was as bad as she was, coming on playing the grieving dad :growlmad: makes me sick.

Oh my goodness, yes I remember (I had forgotten that people met with them). Oh and these were very vunerble people supporting 'Tia's parents', and the story become more and more elobrate, didnt it? With 'Tia's Mum' trying to commit suicide, being on the support forum and going on about some grey crayon and seeing and hearing things, many of us were newly bereaved too :growlmad:

 Thats the one, i remember pm-ing her a few times because her story was so similar to Eves (though eve was obviously not SIDS) I think some people jsut thrive of attention, negative or not. I think the same may go for the McCanns

There's one ex member on here who sticks out in my mind that made up some terrible lies, including two of her children being "murdered"... it turned out she had no children. Some people are just sick in the head, you can't really say that just because the McCann's were well off doctors that they would never think like that. Besides, Harold Shipman was a well off doctor and look at the awful things he did. Anybody can have those thoughts, no matter who they are

apologies then, as said it was just reading an extract from her book last night that gave all that info and it really did start to sway me. JUst goes to show when its something you know nothing about you believe it. Thanks

The thing is as well that if someone is lying (and they suspect that a lot of people don't believe them) there must be a temptation to keep on and on elaborating the story ... kind of 'over egging the pudding' iykwim

Very true and in fact you could turn it round and say that they have the intelligence and resourses to carry it off

The main things that don't sit right with me are her apparently finding Maddie had gone and running out of the apartment leaving her two other children where she believed had been the scene of an abduction, to alert the others shouting "they've taken her"... The cadavar dogs is a huge one and then smaller things like Gerry's tennis bag disappearing, Kate saying she took cuddle cat to work around corpses and then suddenly washed it before they could take any evidence off it....

It's a sad sad story. I've been following this thread from the start and I've had such mixed thoughts on what I believe. Originally I knew what the media had portrayed so I believed she'd been abducted etc.

Now though after reading all your links and TattiesMum's words of knowledge I'm more swayed to thinking they had something to do with it. Espec because of the dogs reactions and the thing about that statement by the independant family which was accurate to the description of Gerry Mcann. Following with much interest xx

The footage of the cadavar dogs sent chills down my spine, really horrible to see the actual crime scene knowing what could potentially have happened there

If I was innocent, as not sure i'd go aout trying to 'justify' myself so much, trying to sway people to believe her, when as TattiesMum said its obviously not true. Nowhere else did the dogs pick up the scent
