I'm reading some theories at the minute. Some are truly disturbing and I hope to god that there is no truth in them

Do you mind saying where? Not cos I'm morbid, but I really feel I'm so caught up in this at the moment I just can't stop thinking about it! Playing on my mind constantly.

If you go to the link that has the audio of Gerry on etc and go to the link on the right hand side which says "evidence was manipulated" Go to the comments on the bottom. The 2nd comment makes a lot of sense. Number 15 is the general vibe of what kind of theories I have come across

I guess you could see why she spent 10 minutes in the apartment. Maybe thinking maddie was hiding and she was looking for her but not wanting to scare or wake the twins

Whilst I see site admin’s point, I simply think it is less complicated than that. There are accounts that the children were left several nights running and the neighbour heard crying on the 1st May. For this reason I think by the time the 3rd May came around they were feeling guilty beforehand about leaving them, but they still went ahead for reasons only they can explain. I think then the worst-case scenario happened. Madeleine as a bright, clever, outgoing little girl, would, I think, be fighting sleep and would not want to go to bed at the same time as the twins. She would want to carry on having fun. After all the kids club have mini discos at night before the adult entertainment starts. She would be desperate to join in. I think this is why she cried the previous night. She was feeling pushed out. I think she played up to such an extent that eventually something like Calpol was administered to calm her down. Then, drowsy, she either tried to get up and fell on the hard tiled floor, or she simply fell out of bed. I think then the panic would be that they knew they were doing wrong beforehand and taking a risk and admitted even talking about upping their checks in view of Madeline crying the previous night. They are then faced with something dreadful happening to Madeline, so first thoughts would be we know we have done wrong, what about the twins, what will everyone say, what will our own parents think, what about work colleagues and our patients, what would they think, we have to make this someone else’s fault. After all, even though they left their children, if they can convince it’s an abduction, then its someone else’s fault! Then having convinced their family and friends that they are really good parents and its the fault of the ‘abductor’ their promise to keep searching for Madeline has to continue, after all what would family and friends think if they then sat back and did nothing at all. So, the lie has to continue. However, they dug a deep hole to start with here and its getting deeper with each ‘faux’ suspect.
Site Admin: Your points are equally plausible Lyndsey. Today I received word from an investigator working with the police in Portugal that it was suggested that the McCanns brought the A4 sized prints of Madeleine with them on holiday so when they appeared on the morning of May 4 it was all premeditated. I think what annoys most of us wanting the truth is that the McCanns have simply avoided being cross-examined. In a normal criminal case, the prime suspects would not be running the show like they are. The mere fact that they were allowed to not answer questions and then flee Portugal within 24 hours rather sums up the uncooperative McCanns and Tapas friends. If it wasn’t so serious it would resemble a pantomime script.

So as a DOCTOR she was that worried she had to check their breathing...YET they failed to have ANY tests done on the twins?!

NO NO NO!

In fact they refused to let the Portuguese Police test the twins just after Madeleine went missing ... then allowed tests in the October (5 months later) ... by which time the twins had both had hair cuts (bearing in mind that sedatives/drugs etc leave traces in the hair shaft).

The issue of the photographs is one of those things that cropped up early on and has never really been explained satisfactorily... it seems to have originated with the statement given by Sylvia Batista - the senior member of the Mark Warner team who was present from when the alarm was first raised (before the police even arrived)

(It actually makes for very interesting reading all round - there are quite a few contradictions already with Kate McCann's book

I'm sure Senor Amaral also mentions photographs in his book (therefore it is also in the police files) ... something to do with the photographs having supposedly been printed in a hurry for the investigation, but they were on a size and type of photographic paper that wasn't available anywhere locally - either in shops or in anyone's printer.... that's the gist of it anyway

And Anna .... I've been obsessed with this case for 4 years I sincerely doubt that we will ever know the truth about what really happened to that poor little girl, but it niggles away at me nevertheless The only thing that I AM sure about is that she was never abducted

BnB could solve this case. As could the police if the McCann's would co-operate. Unfortunately they are too interested about tv appearences, plugging books etc to contribute to something that might actually find their daughter. The fact Kate has written this book yet has admitted to never having actually physically looked for Madeleine is odd in itself.

ok I listened too the 'don't talk' link and can honestly say I can not make it out at all, I listened too it about 8 times and can still not make the words out at all

as for the 50 facts ..... where are the recordings too support some of them though, like the quote by Gerry in fact 40 is it .... that can easily be heresay without a recording too back it up

I *think* it was in the Daily Mail (I know we all hate the Daily Mail but they do report fact most of the time and being a pro McCann paper, I doubt they would make up anything that they thought would appear bad) There is no need for people to make up things like that when there are so many other, much worse inconsistencies about that are very evident in interviews etc, imo

This whole thing isn’t the result of hysterical outporings of grieving parents, trying anything, to find Madeleine and get her home. I think there is something really insidious and highly illicit happening here. The said lists carried the names of many, many Doctors, Lawyers, Priests, Judges, Teachers, Clerical workers, Manual workers, Bus drivers, Politicians (not that politicians are normal), and any amount of other normal people going about their daily lives, usually near a school or some such place where children are in large numbers.
I have sometimes been aghast at the soft sentence being given to child molesters, predators and their kind. Maybe, MAYBE, the Judge empathises with this scum, because he’s doing it himself, the teacher maybe ogling in the kids changing rooms, priests (well, it’s part of the job in some parishes). Doctors (maybe paediatricians), in contact with sick kids. For the most part, there’s a majority of wonderful caring professionals and, I take my hat off to them. But the others are as plausible as the best of them. Maybe paedophile politicians, and other high-ranking people are calling in favours, leaning on others, bribery and corruption which are just part of a normal day.

As soon as I read that comment I felt sick but in reality, it is a possibility. It would at least explain why Kate said the strange things she did the night she discovered Maddie had "gone"

Its entirely possible the whole thing was planned and set up, there was also a mention of there not being many photos of maddie on the holiday, Also the jet, posters, Maybe she had/has a horrible life and IS alive living somewhere, who knows if they did this for the money because of a big debt, they wouldnt show their bank statements! And the tapas 7 or 9 or whatever, would of course gain financially from all this. It doesnt explain the dogs though... but i have a feeling this is a lot more corrupt than i thought, The entire UK government is more corrupt than people know.
