I know that people say 'they shouldn't have left their kids on their own that night', but they have paid a huge price for that action. At the end of the day, nobody is perfect, and they will regret that for the rest of their lives.
how on earth you can say that is beyond me!!!
this isnt an everyday mistake that you just leave your children!!!!
it is a PLANNED situation that as a parent you know can lead into something bad.
It is down right neglectful and they deserve to be punished and regret it everyday...the thing is they see no wrong in leaving their children??? hmmmm
I think they are being punished in the most horrific way possible - they lost their little girl. I doubt there is a minute goes by when they don't regret what they did.
Richard and Judy were on tv earlier, and they said they went to the place where Madeline went missing. They said they could understand how the Mcanns got the feeling that it would be safe to leave their kids in bed, as it felt like it was the same as sitting in the garden nearby. I don't think they were being neglectful, as I'm sure they would not have left them if they had thought they were putting their children in danger.
You actually saw Richard & Judy say those exact words? Why, as a country, are we defending parents who, at the LEAST, are guilty of serious neglect? Jesus.
I think people in their desire to give sympathy to parents whose child has been supposidley 'snatched' feel they have to give a bit of support & in turn there is this misguided suggestion that they have to somehow defend them..... it's 'just like sitting in your garden' - course it is.

Rubbish.
Like others have said, this didn't happen one night as an 'off chance', this was a planned & repeated action by 'parents' who even chose to ignore their daughter asking them why they didn't come why she woke. The thought of my child saying that & then STILL repeating that action makes me sick. To then choose to TELL people this happened too - I just don't understand.
You know what my issue is - it's not a question of whether it's a safe AREA, it's an issue of if those children woke they had been ABANDONED in a foreign hotel room for gods sake. Madeleine could have got out of bed, got anything from that room, swallowd it, electrocuted herself, cut herself, banged her head - do I need to go on?
As for what you said about them not being neglectful.....have you learnt nothing from the outcome of this 'case'?! I'm sorry - if in light of what happened you STILL don't think they were being neglectful......

What more would they need to do? (or not do?)
BRB, just need to nip to the supermarket for 15 minutes, just gonna leave my two children here cos, well, I live in a safe area so it's ok.....
