Its took me days to read through this entire thread! I just dont know what to think The evidence is there in black and white and it is as clear as glass that they are hiding something, I just dont know what I find it extremely hard to believe that seemingly loving parents (neglectful yes, but the children appeared well looked after in every other aspect, and very happy aswell) would try to hide an accident? Accidents happen

It just seems so odd that they would have the conscience to stuff their daughter into a tennis bag and lie to their whole family for this long

I bought the book out of curiosity, about the photo, Im pretty sure I read in the book Kate took the pic and she wasnt in the pool, they barely went in the pool because with it being april/may the weather wasnt actually that warm, and on the day/night she went missing it was freezing (Kate had 5 layers on apprently?)

Im just stumped on the whole thing! They are certainly hiding something, be it something small or coving up something terrible

Quite interesting, I bet a priest knows the truth, I'm sure with the McCanns being devout roman catholics they must have made a confession to their priest????! Just a thought...although that is strictly confidential so its not like that will ever come out.

So sad the whole thing, I cant seem to get it out of my head these last few days

I'm almost halfway through Kate's book and something strikes me as odd.. alot of it is about where they went, who they met, the fact they did alot of crying but not once has she expressed any anger towards her childs "abductor". Now I don't know about anyone else but I'd be furious. I'd be feeling alot of anger and hatred towards this person, or people. Alot of it just makes it all seem so false

If you truly believed your child had been abducted and was living with someone, would you not at every opportunity reach out to that person, tell them you know they meant no harm etc and are sure Madeleine has bought great joy to their life but please please can they return her drop her off in a public place you are not interested in perusing them just want our little girl back with her brothers and sisters, or something to that effect.

They never ever do that.

I dont know if its already been asked but why write a book when its not "over" .. most of the families who release books after this kind of thing do it for closure, so why?

Other than monetary reasons, I don't really know. In terms of publicity, a book will do nothing more than a series of tv interviews and campaigns would.?

Because they need the money. I did read that they had lost a couple of court cases (libel ones) so owe money in court fee's, lawyers etc etc.

The Home Office have given the MET £3.5million to review this.

An opinion that I've been thinking about. Wonder if anyone agreed.

The photos of maddie when she was younger, which also had Gerry in them, they looked happy and fun and he looked like a good dad.

The video clip of him swearing and saying he wasnt there for a good time concerned me. That picture of him on the side of the pool that your talking about. He looks strange. Not the same man as in earlier photos.

He reminds me of my dad. The same attitude. In one word, abusive. He controls Kate in the interviews after and all comments had to go through him first.

I don't know if it's just me. But I think there's something very aggressive about him.

Also, someone mentioned the priest. I think there was some kind of confession as that priest disowned them and didn't want them anywhere near him

Not heard about the priest but I said further back in the thread I do not like Gerry at all. He is cold and he does give me the over powering feel. I hate him.

I was watching "Lie to Me" the other night and now I'm looking around online to see if anyone has analysed Gerry or Kates behaviour, we all know they seem dodgy but people actually train to read lies within body language......

Apparently this guy who has worked fot the PJ for 27 years is going to show why/how Madeleine wasn't abducted, but died in the apartment.
I'm going to give it a little watch while LO is napping - just wanted a heads up if anyone has seen it and whether it's any good or a load of rubbish????

I know this is slightly a little bit off topic but Kate McCann is orginally from Merseyside and the fact that she chose The Sun to interview and promote her book through this week has been a big No-No, nobody buys The Sun in Liverpool due to its coverage of the Hillsborough disaster being terrible and disgusting (my parents are from Liverpool and it has been drummed into me, even though we are Evertonians) I don't know what I am getting at here but just a bit shocked that they chose that specific newspaper!!!

As for the aggressiveness, have you seen the interview where he got angry? That was kinda scary, kate just sits there "get some air, he'll be ok just a bit hot"

I'm watching that link now. First comment: IN MY OPINION she does not look upset, it looks so forced, i actually cant believe how fake and terribly rehearsed she looks! She's all over the place. Gerry looks like hes talking that speech through in his head and his vice grip on her shoulder doesnt look comforting at ALL!! If my child had gone missing i would struggle to speak, my eyes would be red raw from crying so hard and my husbands arm would not naturally fall onto my shoulder like that in a supposed comforting hug, he would either hold lower down my arm or hand as a 'support'. Where is the love, sadness and deep concern that anyone would naturally expect to see exuding from a genuinely pained and terrified mother????
