Kate McCann releasing a book...

I will say that I think the whole thing about 'conspiracy theories' being nonsense is nonsense itself. All it is is a theory about a conspiracy, so America thinking the Taliban were behind 9/11 was a conspiracy theory, if people had suspected Fred and Rose west before they were charged it would have been a conspiracy theory etc etc.
Sometimes people do conspire to do bad things, and sometimes people suss them out before it's proven. Something being a conspiracy theory doesn't automatically make it nonsense xx

My issue is that for every event that happens, there seems to be a conspiracy theory involved. Sometimes it is just the obvious and straightforward. As I said, that is why I personally tune out a bit when conspiracy theories like Rupert Murdoch censoring the media and the masons covering up the actions of the McCanns are attached to this case.

What is making me sad is it currently seems that more people are intent on pointing the finger of blame at the McCann's and 'proving' they did it ..... and everyone seems too be forgetting that there is a child missing! :(

(I don't mean people as a whole ..... not just on this thread btw :hugs:)

I dont think we can say what we would do, we might think that we would know but we dont. I read so many times when Maria on Corrie lost her baby that it wasnt like real life because people would scream and she didnt, I read I would scream, I would do this, I would do that, but when I found out my Honey had grown her wings I didnt do that, I said no, and then was silent, tears rolling down my face, now with Riley Rae I did scream no not again, and I sobbed and I was very loud. Same person, same situation twice, two different reactions. My point being, no matter how sure you are that you would say or do x, y or z, you dont actually know for sure unless it has happened to you, and even if it has happened to you, you cant be sure that given the same situation again your reaction would be the same :flower:

Me neither Tasha. No screaming or shouting just a lot of quiet tears from OH and me. That is why I just can't read much into how the McCanns did or didn't react at the time and the public personna they have now. We didn't react how people expected either. I also remember being in labour with Bobo(it was a long labour) and organising things so that I could support my Dad and inlaws when they came to see us and our midwife looking at me in disbelief. Sometimes in cases of extreme stress and pressure you do the opposite to what is expected.

Big hugs and much love to you Tasha over these very hard days.xxxx

It's not the same though; those cases were based on evidence obtained by the Government, and reporting of a crime. ( I can't remember but wasn't it a policewoman who suspected the West's?)

Also a conspiracy means there has been a cover up, usually to hide wrong doing which does not apply to someone suspecting the West's/America suspecting Al-Queda of orchestrating 9/11.

con·spir·a·cy/kənˈspirəsē/Noun
1. A secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful.
2. The action of plotting or conspiring.

I do agree that there are a lot of people pointing fingers at the McCanns, but that may be because all the facts point there way?

Also, I think personally, once the truth has been discovered (whatever that may be), wouldn't there be a greater possiblility of Madeleine being found? Maybe someone would confess (or at least give some more information)?

This is a very long and difficult read. They use alot of big words :haha: But none the less, it's a very in depth and interesting analysis. They say ermm alot, which is really annoying

yeah im still trying to read it all, about half way, but it analyses everything its eerrrmmm..., you kno, interesting

I know what you mean I'm only a little way down the page. Need another cup of tea I think. I think this statement is really very telling though:

GM: "Can I... Can I just say, I think the worst thing about, you know, the fact that many people have blamed us and vilified us, and with hindsight you know it was clearly a mistake, with hindsight, but the worst thing for me about that is there's an abductor out there and that person stole our child and went into an apartment and took a child and he's anonymous and blameless."

I don't think it's necessarily 'forgetting' their is a child missing. Whoever is responsible for Madeleine's disappearance holds the key to finding her, and I'd love to think she could be found even if we don't find out who did this, but I just don't think that will happen anymore.

I honestly don't think anyone ever forgets that there is a child missing .... it's just that if you believe (as I and many others do based on the cadaver dog's findings) that Madeleine is dead then our focus is on getting the truth and justice for her. :hugs:

Yes, the Americans had a theory that alquieda had conspired to attack the twin towers
And this suspicion is based on evidence obtained by the police, a crime of a missing child has been reported and it was a policeman who supsted the McCanns, he was just very conveniently laid off as soon as he started to address those suspicions.

I can't read the whole thread right now but just a thought, Richard Madeley (who, remember has children albeit grown up now)visited the resort last week and said on Twitter that it was literally like eating dinner in the garden while their asleep upstairs. Although when I sit outside when Harry is asleep I take the monitor and we live on a ground floor flat.
