Leinzlove's The journey beyond our Bumps! (Closed Parenting Group)

Hiya! Sounds like Munchkin is doing really well :cloud9:

Sophie is still a grump, but she has more happy moments now which is lovely :cloud9: She always give Dylan smiles, she adores him, and she loves tummy time.

Two days until my biggest girly is 2, the time has really flown

PUPD = pick up put down. Basically you pick them up to calm them and then put them down so they can self-settle in bed.

Whether he has STTN depends on how you define it...he's never had a night where he hasn't woken up from bedtime to morning. But he has had several 7+ hour stretches and last week a 9-hour one. How has your sleep been hon?

Its been pretty good! He usually goes to bed around 7-8 pm, and gets up around 2-3 am for a bottle. Then he goes back to sleep till 6:30 or 7. We do have those nights where he wakes up at 3 am and decide he wants to play :dohh: But hes really good about going straight back to sleep. I just feed him, change him, put in right back in his bassinet and 95% of the time hes asleep before i lay him down. Except.. he only naps in his bouncy. Which is alright, i guess.. but when i put him down for bed , i have to bounce him to sleep in his bouncy, then 30-45 minutes later move him in his bassinet. Its weird, in the middle of the night hes fine in there. But during the day/evening screams in protest at the sight of it lol

ps anyone have any ideas about getting him to sleep without the bouncy?!

That sounds really good! Are you putting the bouncy next to his bassinet? Would it be safe to put the entire bouncy inside the bassinet? You might try that. But honestly if it is working well for you then I would just keep doing it! There's a lot of developmental stuff coming up around 4 months and it's likely to affect his sleep and his awareness of the world so you will probably have to change your routines anyway.

Wiggler, how lovely that Sophie always smiles at her brother :cloud9: amazing that she loves tummy time! I knew were babies out there who did, but I always find it hard to believe :haha: I bet she will be an early crawler!

Do you have anything planned for Bethany's birthday? :cake:

Yes its right next to his bassinet.. think id br scared to put it in his bassinet. I also doubt itll fit. Its a very wide bouncy !!! Ive heard four months can be tough ugh.. how was it for u ?

No advice on the sleep, hopefully he will start settling in his bassinet soon :)

Dylan loved tummy time too and he was an early crawler and walking at 9 months, I don't want her to be mobile early, it's so much easier when they can't move

The plan for tomorrow is wake up and open cards and presents, then Mcdonalds breakfast (bad mummy i know, but we only have it once or twice a year :haha:) then we are off to my mums for the day and having a picnic in her garden.

We were going to go to soft play or something in the morning, but with all the nasty bugs doing the rounds at the moment I didn't want to risk it as Sophie hasn't had any jabs yet x x x

Aww that sounds really nice, Wiggler!

Lch, I'm sorry to say 4 months was tough for us. It was more like 3-5 months really. What helped us was getting into more of a routine for naps and moving Munchkin to his own room. But it's totally different for everybody, both how bad it is and the things that fix it if it's bad. There's a lot of different things going on at that age and any number of them, or none at all, can end up affecting sleep. At least that's my understanding.

I have no idea either, Ich! I haven't had issues with Zoela sleeping. She is now bedsharing, though. She would sleep in her crib if I could handle letting her. Chloe is in her bed most nights, but still climbs in our bed from time to time.

There's a tug at my heart about how fast the first year really goes.

i know i can not believe hes almost 4 months old. He is getting bigger every day! Sleep is still pretty bad, he was doing 8 hour stretches but all week has been up every 3. Oh well. I always tell myself next week it will be different, cause it usually is :haha:

I hope next week IS different! :hugs:

We quit sleep training. Munchkin was still crying a lot nearly 3 weeks into it. Maybe later. :(

Usually twice. It actually helped his sleep a lot, just made bedtime really hard for everyone. Last night was just the first night of nursing to sleep again, so I'm hoping there won't be too much backsliding.

Sleep is great here. But, I leave Zoela to her own schedule. She usually sleeps from 9pm to 6am, then gets up for a change and fed (20 min usually) and is back to sleep until 11am. That's when she gets up for about 4 hours or so. I go back to bed after the 6am feed, but get up between 830-930am to get things done before Chloe gets up. Chloe gets up around 10am.
