--Lion Cubs - Mummy and Baby Group!-- We are all One Year Old!

Was he doing it live? Because if so the CMT music awards was last night. Seems like that is the most likely one!

cleck, how is Emma when you change her nappy? I imagine she is like Adam and wants to be up and off... any tips to share?

I actually found a page with a load of suggestions for changing a difficult baby last night, now I've got to go out and buy a load of little toys and keep them all separate and never let him have them apart from nappy time

I am the same with WIC. I feel like every time I use it, I could be doing so much more so I wouldn't have to use it, but Ross makes 16.00 an hour and I make 8.00 an hour working and with our bills and the second baby on the way it is a HUGE help. And I just put my WIC up there before my regular groceries and they take the vouchers and get that done and then I pay for my other stuff with cash or credit and it makes me feel a lot better.

We get each month:
4 & 1/2 gallons of milk
$10.00 in fresh fruit and veggies
2 pounds of bananas
1 dozen eggs
1 pound of cheese (shredded or block or string)
1 16 oz whole wheat/whole grain bread (sara lee or whatever you want)
or 14 to 16 oz pkg or corn/whole grain tortillas
1 15-18 oz jar of peanut butter
4 cans 14-16 oz beans
36 oz of cereal
3 12 oz frozen juice containers or 2 64 oz containers
24 oz of baby cereal
24 jars of baby food
7 cans of formula
You get more if your baby is breastfeed though.

It is a HUGE help for us and I feel better because I know so many people on it and it is not just for low income families it works for everyone

MJ- Emma not only tries to crawl away but she screams the entire time. I honestly have NO tips. :haha: I just change her as fast as possible and have to force her down and hold her legs tight. She also loves to shove her hands down at her crotch so when she poops thats always fun. She has her rare days where she will just lay there for me but for the most part it's a giant fight. Just ten minutes ago I changed her and she was being such a pain that I just let her crawl off naked. So now she's getting some naked time in the living room. :haha:

Heidi- I am totally thinking about doing it. DH and I were discussing it last night because we are sinking fast with the money situation. If our house would sell we'd be good but we pay rent, a mortgage, bills for the house there because they won't let us shut anything off so people can inspect it when they want to buy it, and than all our bills here, car payment, the list goes on. It's ridiculous really. I'm to the point that I might have to sell stuff off here to keep afloat. And we want another baby sometime in the near future so that just makes it even harder. I breastfeed so that is one thing I save on. And don't have to pay for diapers very often because we use cloth. Decisions, decisions!

Yeah that seems like it would be really tough, I feel for you!! I am thankful for it, because even buying milk and bread and what not ADDS up on the grocery bill and we can use that money to buy her diapers and to get other items we need. We struggle...week to week it seems so I am very nervous for this baby. We pay our bills on time but it does not leave much left over so thats why I had to get a job last month...I am 6 months pregnant and I am a housekeeper at a hotel...its terrible but it's money and we need it. I would call the public health office and ask about the wic program, it seriously is a big help. I mean you can get the tickets and not use them if you don't want to, you get 3 months at a time here so maybe its the same there...but it is a huge help love!

Jesse is really a struggle to change he flips over straight away and as soon as I take his nappy of if he's pooed he starts itching his bumcrack and gets poo all over his hands :dohh: then I'd say 3/5 times he sticks his foot in the nappy before I can move it away fast enough,
BUT iv done that thing with the toy and it works alot better than it used to! He has a set of rubber ducks in the bath and he has one downstairs which is his 'changing toy' it keeps him occupied alot of the tone and doesn't roll, still kicks his legs around though!

lucas dosnt have a bottle any more so i just wash his cups that i use for milk. He has 1 6oz and 2 5oz cups a day of milk and water throw out the day.

when i read about all the babys getting about i so wish lucas was he trys so hard to get up on his knees but just flopps back down and starts army crawling off he is fast at it but it dose his head in that he cant get to where he wants to faster. But he is getting good on his feet he can hold on to something and stay put for a long time with out falling but he wnt move and try and walk but it will come in time.

I haven't sterilised anything for Imogen since Christmas, it seemed stupid when she was putting whole kittens in her mouth. She has 8oz first thing, and then 6 oz three, sometimes four times a day depending on how she feels. She will sometimes have some juice out of her sippy cup, but really hardly ever.

When we're changing her, she does often fling herself around, I tend to give her a little toy to play with, a duck or a babywipe packet/babywipe itself. I haven't had her weighed. Ever. They did it when she was born, and the midwife did it at her one week check up and that's it. I couldn't bear the thought of spending any more time in the baby clinic (HELLHOLE) than strictly necessary to get her immunised. I have no idea how much she weighs, but she looks alright ;)

My bobike mini + turned up, so I've fixed it onto my bike, but I haven't had a chance to take it out yet. I finally found a lovely little helmet on Halfords.com, and it fits her brilliantly, so we're all geared up to go for our first cycle ride soon. I'm going to take the bike out with a sack of potatoes in the seat first though, to make sure I've got the knack of it.

Well after just saying how Emma stopped walking on her walker, last night she went nuts on it. Just going EVERYWHERE. I got a short clip on my phone but have to find the cable and than I'll put it on here! :D I started crying because she is growing too fast for my liking. DH even got tears in his eyes. I think it's starting to be time for another. :haha:

Good for her!!!! What a smart little one Emma is, very proud of her over here!!!

And yay for another haha

aww Emma is such a love she will be off in no time at all and the little hi5 omg so sweet.

OMG Abbi crawled?!!! :happydance::happydance: Aww yay! All kinds of cool milestones lately! Our babies are growing so fast!:cry::cloud9::cloud9: And crawling isn't nothing hun! It's awesome!! :D:D I'm almost as excited hearing everyone else's babies doing something new as I am with Emma doing something new. It's so cool how we can all share this experience together.

Well done Emma and Abbi :happydance: clever girls!

that video is sooooooooooo cute

I took a video of Jesse climbing the stairs this morning I'll post it up when my laptop is back x

I was JUST saying to DH that the baby aisles are starting to be irrelevant to our situation. There is nothing there for us anymore! She eats what we eat, wears cloth diapers so we don't need the diaper aisle, we do buy baby wipes although I have cloth wipes too. All of the toys are for little teeny babies. I even just packed away Emma's "baby" toys yesterday! I let her have one last play with them and than packed them for the next baby. I used to LOVE just walking the baby aisles and looking at everything. Now there is nothing there that appeals to me. Now I'm in the actual toy aisle looking at big kid toys.:D I can understand why women get addicted to having little babies in the house all the time. I definitely miss my little baby already. :haha:

:D We should all post videos more often! I love seeing all the little babies. Since I don't get to go to the meets this is my only way to see them all.

Awww! I watched Emma's video this morning without the sound on (was scared Adam would wake up) and just watched again with the sound. :D She is so going to be off on her own soon! So sweet!

You inspired me to get Adam's walker out today, he's had it a while but Chris is very nervous that he'll go too fast and fall (we have hard wood floors) so he took it away  I wish we had a heavier walker with wheels that have some resistance, so he can lean on it without it running away!

Anyway, I was at work today and as I was on my way home I was thinking about Adam and the walker and I thought - actually, going on how's he's been lately, I bet all he wants to do is step on it and use it to climb. Got home to find Chris made a video and yep, I was right. :dohh:

Here he is... using it as a step to get up onto the settee by himself... boy just loves to climb

I commented on this on facebook but I will again here. He's so cute MJ! :D Emma's walker is really light too. And has slipped away from her a few times in the past two days. Thankfully we have carpet so she's not slamming hard or anything. It's kind of funny when she falls but that's just me being immature. Cause she'll walk it into something big and than can't push anymore so than ends up flipping it over because she's still pushing but it's not going anywhere.

OMG I just felt my first ever earthquake!! It was weird but not really as scary as I'd thought. I'm SO glad DH was here with me though otherwise I probably would've freaked out.
