--Lion Cubs - Mummy and Baby Group!-- We are all One Year Old!

Boothh- :hugs: Just read through it real fast. Honestly it's sometimes very hard to voice opinions on feeding without sounding rude though. I mean I'm sure some of the stuff I post would piss off the FFers in our August club even. :( But I would never do it intentionally. It's just hard to be proud and not sound like I'm trying to say I'm better. If that makes sense. :dohh: Don't let those girls bother you. :hugs::hugs:

shiv- :haha: Or fat americans.. Cause apparently we are all fat! (I'm fat and DAMN proud of it!:rofl:)

nutty- By LA I'm assuming you mean Los Angeles and not Louisiana. :winkwink: Yeah I've actually found the people of California to be the most rude of all the states I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. I can't for the life of me, figure out why anyone would ever want to visit here or live here. I'm about an hour and a half drive from L.A. so I am thinking maybe the snooty people filtered down here.

Okay you know it's bad when I am still awake and you girls are just now waking for the day and coming on here. It's almost 2 in the morning for me and I haven't slept a wink. I have always been such an insomniac. It's horrible when I'm so tired but just can't fall asleep.

Teehee. I'm going to steer clear of that thread, because having done both, I somehow manage to offend EVERYONE whenever I voice an opinion. I've said it before, but if Mog wants to try BFing again when the new baby is born, I'll let her. I still have milk as it happens, but she's not remotely interested in getting anywhere near my bbs. Rotter.

So OH was back last night, and I really thought that I might not have to do the morning shift. How wrong I was. He got up and got the baby up (at 5.30) and brought her into our room when she started crying (well eventually, I had to kick him first) and then after five minutes of her still crying, went and got her breakfast. Then he went back to sleep and let her smack me in the face, pull my hair and kick me for half an hour until I got up and took her downstairs to the jumperoo, and went to sleep on the sofa. Again. I was sort of hoping I might get to sleep all night in my bed for once.

I'm hoping it's just the horrid heat waking her up, but I might try and rig up the travel blackout blind tonight and see if it keeps her asleep any longer. I honestly can't cope with this for very much longer. :(

Aunty E - I don't know if this would help but...........when Sophia was waking up early (5ish) i read that if you can drag out the time between them waking and going down for their first nap to as close to three hours as you can manage (or longer i guess if they aren't tired) then they should sleep in til longer. I have tried it with Sophia and it does seem to work. I guess they learn that they can't have it both ways, wake up early and nap as soon as they like, so they may as well get a bit more kip!

Boothh - sorry you feel looked down upon by southerners. I have lived up North (Darlington) and down South (Kent) and in the midlands. Northerners are definitely most friendly. I do wonder though, if people aren't looking down at you, but trying to figure out where you are from! I often do it with accents, so I bet I stare at people until I figure out if they are from Liverpool, Newcastle, Yorkshire etc!! And as for that other thread, I haven't read since just after you first commented on it but no way was anyone trying to be funny, so sense of humour has nothign to do with it! :hugs:

cleck - I get insomnia too - I think I got about 3 hours sleep last night. it rained so hard here (first rain in weeks) so I was looking out the window! And i was trying to think of a stereotype for Americans but couldn't!

yeah shiv it could just be the accent thing, i lived in swansea for abit when i was 18 and people were always takin gthe piss out of me cus i was english, lol whole different story if its the other way round though! and now i live in huddersfield people take the piss out of me for being from manchester haha, i suppose if your not home then theres always gunna be someone who doesnt like were your from!

i dont know for me i couldnt give a crap how somebody feeds their baby as long as they DO feed their baby! i really dont get how people feel the need to judge and comment on how others bring up their children! we all do it differently but we all havehealthy happy kids so really whats the problem! xx

Shiv - I might try that tomorrow too if she's awake early. I have a doctor's appointment at 7.30 to book in, so I'd have to be up around 6.30 anyway. I can't feel much worse than I do now :dohh: Wish the weather would break, I have a terrible pressure headache, so I think it might rain soon.

Boothh - that made me laugh so much 'so long as they DO feed their baby!'

i like how in this thread, we all have completly different views and ways of parenting, and though we dont all agree on certain aspects of parenting it never causes any arguments, because we all respect each other descisions as mothers, we all know whats right for our LOs and like i said before we all have great well rounded LOs and were all doing a great job in all our different styles, i wish it was more like that on the rest of the forum, it makes me not wanna look around cus there always some thread with people bitching and patronizing others!! grr, xx

Kira is taking her 1st nap in her big girl bed! I'm laying right here too, but one day she might nap alone :haha:

We never really decorated her room (until now)- I only painted the walls gray before she was born since I wasn't sure if I was having a boy or girl, and put a dresser from my childhood in here. So now its girly and cheerful!!

spidey- I LOVE it!! I kinda want to get rid of Emma's crib now! :haha: I had been thinking about it for a while but now I'm really thinking it's a great idea! Emma still feeds to sleep and if I could get her to nap in her own room it'd be a good start! I don't want to force her to stop co-sleeping but I think a gentle nudge wouldn't hurt. :D

I completely agree. I mean we all had our arguments in third tri but it was all petty stuff and except for W4B, we are all grown-ups that know one fight isn't the end of everything! I honestly feel like I never have to worry what you girls are going to think because even if some disagree, there is at least one that will relate. Like this feeding thread. I just HAD to say something but I don't want to say it in there because I don't always like starting arguments on this forum(although sometimes it's fun:haha:) So this group is like my 'safe' zone on here.

I do like how I can be myself in here... its nice we all don't bicker over everything :)

Cleckner- so far I'm really happy with my decision to give up on using the crib and getting a mattress. I was considering a toddler bed, but thats 1 more thing I'll have to store one day whereas the twin mattress could be Kira's till she moves out. I'm going to work on it slowly, but 1st I'll get her to nap on it and maybe one day she'll spend nights there too! Of course I say this as she boob snoozes as I'm on the couch watching tv :dohh: She almost never falls asleep on the boob so I was caught off guard!

I agree Cleck, good way to word it. I love how close we all have become. I feel like this is always my safe place to vent, and I enjoy that.

I SERIOUSLY want to put Caylee in her big girl bed now on the floor, I have been holding off, because my child is a terror and you leave her on her own and crap is everywhere but seeing that picture makes me melt haha, I think you just gave me the kick int he butt that I needed!

I was thinking a twin mattress too! I had a twin bed my entire childhood so I figure she could get the same. Or a full so than it could be used as a guest bed and Emma could camp out with us when people come visit. :haha: Double the uses! :D Once we sell our house and we actually have money again, I think we will start on converting her room to a big girl room. You've got me all excited spidey! :D:D

nutty- no I hadn't even thought about themes! Emma's room right now actually has owl decals on it similar to Kira's room that spidey posted! :haha: Spidey, good taste by the way!! :D I think I'm gonna browse around at different themes now, just for fun.

I actually thought that right away when you asked what theme. It really would be cute! I'll have to search around and see what I can find. :haha:

thanks girl for all the compliments :) I love her room so much now that every time I pass by I peek my head in :haha: I had no idea I was going to do owls until I was in Target and they had an entire isle with an owl theme! I think Kira loves her new bed so much because she sees how excited I get when I'm in there.

I got these Owl wall decals from target as well when Caylee was like 4 months old haha, I still have them up but she is now going to be one and I was thinking about re doing her room...I wanted something chic and cute..but at the same time, its not my room, its hers and I want her to have whatever she wants in there...but I found a picture of a nursery and I about died, I just fell in love...so I think I will be stopping at target in a few weeks to start picking up the supplies and saying goodbye to the owls :(

Heres her owl wall decals

OMG that zebra rug is amazing!! Love it. What ever happened to the paris theme you had with the eiffel tower?! Why'd you redo that?

Target always has the best stuff!

That was at my sisters house when I lived with her, we redid the whole basement to make it ours. But Ross and I moved because he got a job in a different town, so we rented an apartment and had to re do everything, which stinks because I loved that tower haha.

I know I am crazy in love with that rug!!
