--Lion Cubs - Mummy and Baby Group!-- We are all One Year Old!

Spidey- Ewww eye crusties. :rofl::rofl:

Heidi- The story about your sister made me tear up a little. What an amazing person! I hope she adopts them all. :haha: I would love to adopt a baby or child. Was it super hard for her to adopt? I'm so sorry you lost your niece and she lost her baby. That would be SO hard. I can't even begin to imagine what it'd be like. :hugs: to all of you. And with the bug bites, do you have a dog or anything that could have fleas? Or has an animal been in your place that could have them? I only ask because our dog had them back in VA and it took like a year to get rid of them fully from our house. They are the devil bug! And I am a complete neat freak and constantly vacuum and clean but they still got in our house. I felt like a complete dirtbag but I read up on them and they come from the grass outside. We all know your not dirty and bugs can come from anywhere really!! :hugs::hugs: Thank goodness she doesn't have chicken pox for her birthday though!

No we don't have a dog or anything, so I don't know what bug is getting at her, but her room will be scrubbed today haha.

It took about 5 months for each boy to adopt them. It was easier because she was a foster mom already but it was a pretty smooth process for them. Because she was the foster parent first she still gets paid monthly for each boy she adopted until they turn 18, and they get full medical through the state until they turn 18 as well, so that is nice. It was very hard having Hailey (My niece) pass away, they have her ashes in the house still and my sister keeps it by her bed on her nightstand, she never got the strength to get a burial plot for her, this is just how she deals with it. I am hoping that God keeps blessing them the way he has been with children through the system, she has been much happier since she took on foster parenting. :) So thats why we named Caylee her name, I wanted to incorporate Hailey into her name so my sister felt as though she would always be remembered. I had my sister go to every prenatal appointment with me when I was pregnant with Caylee, and she was in the room when I gave birth to Caylee and she got to experience everything through me, it was very special to share that with her, we also made her and her husband Caylees godparents. :-)

I never knew you could get the chicken pox more than once either or that there was a jab for it - dont think it is over here yet as it's not in Natasha book.

I would just hate for her to get them as I was really sick with them as a child and vomitted for two days and I also have a lovely scar on my chest where I had been scratching like mad for days and my mam thought it was only a hive as it took nearly a week for the rest to come out. I know they do say it is worse in adults but I have never seen an adult with them but know how horrible it was as a child and would hate her to be that sick so I dont think that I would have her around the others - but then again I think once they start playschool and school they get most of these things anyway.

Heidi: I'm so glad it's not the chicken pox - sure how are you to know - I wouldn't know the difference between bug bites or chicken pox either even as I wouldn't remember what they looked like - that is so sad about your sister, I'm so glad she has got to adopt now - that is terrible about the little baby going though drug withdrawel.

My SIL also fosters and has two girls since they were babies - one is 15 now and the other 10. I dont think I could do it as I would be terrified of them going back.

Cleck: That is terrible about that girl - after going through it myself I really dont understand how anybody could make it up - and I definitely agree with you, it is not something you would put on FB like that and she definitely didn't see a baby in the toilet - My MMC was at 16 weeks, although our little angel had only survived for 6 to 7 and all I passed was blood and clots (sorry TMI) and even when I had the D&C the hospital explained that there may be a teeny foetus there when they went in and if so we could opt to bring it home to bury it or the hospital could dispose of it but that 99% of the time by the time they do the D&C it has disintegrated and I know I was convinced we were getting our little baba to bring home as you could still see something on the screen at the scan but unfortunately it was all gone by the time the procedure was done so I know I passed that by myself and it definitely didn't look like a baby. She does deserve a smack in the mouth which is normally not like me but that kind of cr*p really annoys me when there are people out there who have gone through what your sister has Heidi.

Happy birthday Vincent - well done Shadow :happydance:

Hey Becki, looks like you were able to take over the thread OK, that's great :-D

Hope the rest of you understand, I realised that I had missed some birthdays and felt pretty bad about not mentioning them in the thread title like we'd wanted to last year! But I just don't have the time to keep up with you gys in here with everything else right now :-(

I hope you all know that I'm thinking of you and the cubs!! And I wish each and every cub a really happy birthday, I can tell you it is the most awesome thing to watch them opening their presents and playing with everything, that little face lit up with awe at all the new things!! It's THEIR day and it's so much fun to just spoil them rotten, those who haven't had their birthday yet I am certain will have a fabulous time :)

Loads of love to you all, as ever, my sweeties!
Shadow and 1-year-old Vincent! xxx

yeah shadow i was gunna message you about it but hadnt got round to it yet! glad vince had a very happy birthday!! :D and dont be a stranger!! xx

I think it's great that Boothh will take over the thread  Shadow- don't forget to check back in every once in awhile and give us updates on Vincent!! I want to know if he has any more teeth since the last I heard he grew in his fang teeth first. And if he's still repeating words back to you! Kira hasn't said any words yet and she hasn't really said "mama" to me although sometimes she says ma ma ma ma ma when she's grumpy :haha: Are any of the other babies saying words yet?

jesse says quite a few but he goes through periods of saying words for weeks consistently then he sort of forgets them and looks at you weirdly if you keep repeating it at him,

at the moment he says, ta, byebye, mama, nanny, daddy, and what (OT?)

he copys sounds you make though like if i say 'dont do that' he will go 'oh oo at' like try copy what iv said, i suppose thats how they learn to talk! xx

awww... thats soooo cute that Jesse tries to repeat what you say. I guess thats where "baby talk" really starts :-) I'm still wondering when Kira will take an interest in language because so far she does nothing like that. Thats the only milestone I'm concerned about since I was very delayed on language as a child and had to attend special language therapy classes. I don't want Kira to be thought of as dumb if she can't speak properly so I hope she doesn't take after me!!

who would think of her as dumb!!! they all develop differently she will talk when she feels like it! she obviously doesnt feel the need to at the moment, it comes in time!

jesse is having a health visitor come over in the next week or so, he has lost 2lbs from 8-9 months and he hasnt put weight on since, so i am a little worried of him losing/not gaining weight and dont really know what to do about it, and like i mentioned he is sick alot, so i want to get it checked out,

i find myself doing stuff like putting extra cheese on his pasta or spreading butter on his toast extra thick cus i want him to put weight on but he just isnt :dohh: he wont take extra milk so what can i do!!

Spidey- Emma isn't nearly as advanced with language as some of the other babies seem to be. She says dada and mama to the correct parents. She knows I'm her mama. In fact she's saying it right now and hitting my arm trying to get my attention. LMAO! She'll say bye bye and wave. And she'll say bubbles when I say it first. But that's it. She understands what I say to her because I'll tell her that I need to change her bottom and she'll come over to me and let me lay her back. (She doesn't throw fits during changes anymore..thank goodness)

I truly wouldn't worry about it though hun. I've read a little in the toddler section and there are tons of babies in there that aren't talking yet.

I guess my biggest concern is Kira will be as delayed as I was and I clearly remember remarks being made infront of me. I couldn't talk, but I could certainly hear! I know Kira understands quite a bit because if I say "where's the squirrel" she will look at the window where a squirrel sometimes sits and eats seeds. Or "do you want a booby?" and she will spit out her pacifier and get ready for the booby. So I know she's quite smart- she just doesn't try to talk yet. When Emma says "mama" does she say "Mama" or "ma ma ma ma ma ma" Kira also doesn't wave yet, but she claps her hands :-)

Boothh- I hope they figure out why Jesse gets sick often. I looked back at Kira's weight that I write down each month, and she weighed 19.4 lbs at 8 months old and just yesterday at 11 1/2 months old weighed 20.4 lbs. So she stopped gaining and is really thinning out. She started crawling around 8 months, so I think all the activity burned her baby fat. I remember that Jesse was always on the bigger side, so maybe the weight loss is just him thinning out too, but I can see why you're concerned. Let us know what they say.

I wouldn't worry about Kira talking hon. My niece didn't really say simple words until she was 1 1/2. I think like walking, crawling, scooting, etc can range in age from baby to baby.

I wish Caylee was small again ahaha. I am EXHAUSTED. She is giving me a massive run for my money with the things she says and the things she does. She is a handful.
I come home from work and she runs up to me for a hug and a kiss and I love that, but then later on after the whole "mommy is home" wears off....she is back to screaming at me and biting my leg and then 2 seconds later wanting to cuddle and then crying and yelling...AGAGAGAGHAAGH I need sleep, and a lot of it haha.
