--Lion Cubs - Mummy and Baby Group!-- We are all One Year Old!

Heh, I KNOW! I did go to Hamley's the other week with a friend, but was actually a little disappointed and underwhelmed by the selection in the pre-school section, and didn't end up getting anything. Though I did think about getting a vtech push and ride alphabet train, I think he'd really like it and it's a push-along and ride-on thing, and not too big either. We're waiting till we know what he's getting from other people, and I figure he doesn't even know what a birthday is, so if he gets up and there is no pile of presents there, it won't make any difference to him and it's not like he will remember and hold it against me... he'll get presents and stuff when we go for his party (on his birthday) so we'll get pics, etc.

I get torn over what to get him because I don't want to get anything that's too "young" and he won't enjoy for long, or too "old" and it'll be hanging around in space we don't have for months before he is interested... if he had his own room or we had more room in general, I'd be getting all sorts and just setting it aside for later if necessary!

But what I really want is for someone to tell me what a baby would like and give me very little choosing to do. there is too much available and it makes me want to run away in case I do it wrong!

HAHA that kitchen is so adorable. Caylee plays with hers for hours on end, she loves it so much, she puts food in her oven and we have dinner parties in her room haha. Its fun. So I am glad you bought one!!!! It is so fun.

And Caylee should make any parent worry, she is a terror, but an adorable one who I wouldnt trade for anything.

...ladies..its is 12:30 am here, which means its the 31st of July...and MY BABY IS ONE!
Ok so I spent all day crying yesterday saying "today is the last day you are my baby...tomorrow you are one" and now that it is here, even though she is not awake, I can not stop crying....where did time go, I love that she is growing up, but I seriously want to throw the brakes on right now :(

no wonder he scares the neighbours lmao!

HAHAHAHA that is so adorable. He is just so cute.

So today is the day of Caylees party, which we spend $400.00 on......and its effing raining outside and that is where we are having the party, I am so angry, its at 2:00 so hopefully it stops so we can have this party, there are 45 people coming and I can not fit them all into my apartment!

I really hope the weather brightens up for the party heidi!

i hope it stops raining for you heidi! take lots of pictures!! x

Boothh that pic of jesse is so damn cute - he looks like a cheeky little tike1 Also is that you taking the photo - great cleavage!

No-ones gonna be looking at your belly with those beauties :winkwink:

Booth: I dont blame you for being angry with the neighbours - God if they lived beside us they would surely think we beat our child - as even though Natasha doesn't cry often - when her teeth are at her she could be screaming for a full hour non-stop even though DH or I are walking the floors with her - the cheek of them - what do they expect babies cry, do they expect you to gag him or something. That picture of Jessie is so cute.

Heidi: Happy birthday for yesterday to Caylee - and Happy party today - Hope the rain has cleared up and ye all have a great day.

TMR: Good to see you - Hope Lucas's eyes clear up soon the poor thing - but I think we are all unfortunately going to face all these lovely bumps and scrapes, I'm dreading it when Natasha gets on the move properly but it is all a part of it.

MJ: A friend of ours has that alphabet train and it is the business - I'm thinking of getting it for Natasha as part of her Christmas present as we have gotten all her birthday presents. Its brilliant.

Cleck: Hope you are having a ball with Corey home - I love that kitchen by the way, lucky Emma lol

Nutty: I hope you had a great birthday yesterday.

Shiv: Sophia birthday present sounds really great - The more I hear of what everyone is getting the more excited I get - I would love to get it all for Natasha as they all look and sound so cool lol - but sure to win the lotto and afford it number one and fit it all into the house number two ha ha. The farmyard theme sounds great when she loves animals so much.

Spidey: I think we all freak out over our little ones development and things sometimes - I know on the most part I know deep down Natasha is fine and just doing things at her own pace when she is not crawling or pulling up yet, but every now and again I have a wobble and worry again - you are not a worrywart - I think we all do it when it comes to our babies - we will probably be worring about them with one thing or another for the rest of our lives lol

Well I'm wrecked today - we were at a bbq with DH family last night and Natasha stayed over in my mams for the night and was spoilt rotten. DH is back to work on Tuesday so I will miss having him around and I think she will too as she is really her daddys little pet - we have had a ball while he has been off on his holidays.

Natasha also got her first big bruise today on her head as she slipped when going from sitting onto her tummy and banged her head - Oh I think its going to be really hard getting used to all these bumps and scrapes - I wish I could bubble wrap her sometimes ha ha. I also think she is trying to say no as she is saying nah nah or noh noh (hard to explain the sound) when she doesn't want anymore dinner or doesn't want me to dress her for bed - first it sounded more like na na but now its more a nah nah sound. I got a beautiful party dress this week also for her to wear for her birthday.

So the party was amazing. It stopped raining the second we got there and started again right when we all left. It was a miracle haha. She got SO much stuff, my goodness...her room is packed. The best thing she got was this Dora couch that folds out into a bed, she takes her naps on it and plays with her dolls on it and mega blocks, those are awesome lol. She does love her new tv as well! Every dollar was worth it, she had so much fun she was up talking in her crib until midnight, just babababababababbahahahahahah. It was so funny, she was so excited she just could not fall asleep.

So to all of you who are throwing birthday parties ahh good luck haha it is stressful and makes you exhausted but the reward is so amazing. Still can't believe my daughter is one though

Poor Natashas bruise, we have a lot of head bruises here as well :( It's always sad to see. Can't wait to see pictures of her in her dress, I bet she looks beautiful.

Yipee! Heidi- I'm so glad the rain stopped for the party! Thats so adorable that Caylee was too excited from her party to sleep. You're the 2nd person who says their LO likes the little Dora couch... hmmm... I might have to get one too!

Boothh- the squishy face on Jesse is adorable! He has such red hair and blue eyes! Such a cutie!

It sounds like we have lots of bumps and bruises! We seem to go thru phases with Kira. Right now she's covered in scratches because she scratches at herself :dohh: I can't put mits on her and I have her nails as short as possible so I guess I'll have to wait till winter when I can dress her in more clothes and she won't beable to get at herself.

Less than 2 weeks till Kira's b-day! During the rest of her nap I'm going to work on a list of food I need to buy for her party. :happydance:

No, I still feel like she is my baby haha. Although I swear the past two weeks she has just grown so much, she is starting to do things on her own even more! She gets into the bathtub alone now, she brushes her dolls hair and pushes her doll stroller around the house, shes eating with a spoon and fork, I can not believe it.

hey everyone,
glad the party went well heidi! i cant wait for jesses though im so stressed with it all but i know it will be worth it! :)
ive spent 100s already and not even finished yet still got all the food for party more decs few extra presents and the main event the cake to pay for, im going to be skint after it :)

this weekend we are finally getting round to decorating jesses bedroom! we got decorating permission the end of last week so im going to do it while hes stays over at my mums at the weekend! clear all his babyish toys out of his room to get ready for his big new stuff thats coming,

thats good that caylee likes her megabloks weve bought jesse a huge bag of them cus they were on offer and SIL has bought him this travel megabloks table for him to build on :)

his baby gym is still up on the floor in his room, his bumbo, babybath etc are all still in his room so i need to pack up all the baby stuff and put it away for the next baby! :)

i cant wait for all his toys to go in his room and we have put our old two seater sofa in his room so i can sit while he plays and the living room isnt trashed all the time then :)
i have ordered some really cute jungle animal wall decals to stick around :)

yaaay soo excited!! x

forgot to add - jesse has had his first go at loading the spoon himself this evening, i give him pre loaded spoons now and again but hes never had free reign of the bowl and spoon so he had one of his stage 1 deserts that i had left over from before we started blw, he did okay then decided to just stick his head in and eat it like a cat, oh and then dumped it over his head lol,

LOL

Just wondering - has anyone's LO had the BCG? I was meant to take Adam before he is 1, but never got round to it and now he is 1 in less than 2 weeks and I feel bad and I don't feel I should just leave it... I am not anti-vaccination, he's had everything else he was supposed to, and will have the next lot at 12 months and 13 months, but something has stopped me with the BCG, think it's the scar and the oozing site... I remember it well from when I had it at age 12 and I have no idea how to manage it with a toddler! Wish I'd just taken him when he was 4 months but - grrrr.

Also wish we lived somewhere that didn't recommend it but we won't be leaving the area any time soon and I'd hate for him to pick it up (even though he really hardly spends time with non-family/close friends).

is that the tb injection? they dont give it round here til 14 i had mine at that age :) noones even mentioned it to us x

yeah, it's against TB. some areas recommend it for babies under 12 months depending on the prevalence of TB locally, and it's apparently high in SE London. :( I think I actually had the BCG as a baby myself because of some family member having TB (not sure who but I don't think it was a close relation), but then had it again when I was 12 because the skin test was inconclusive as to whether I already had immunity so to hedge their bets they decided to give it to me again. I definitely had no scar from the baby BCG but got one at 12, I remember it pouring green ooze down my arm after swimming one day.

Also unsure about carrying Adam in the carrier after he's had an injection - he doesn't have to have his arms in so it might be ok... just that there are 2 clinics fairly locally and one is really quick to get to on a train but I can't manage the pushchair on that route because there's an underpass and no lift (and I don't do stairs and pushchair when travelling without someone to help). I really need to learn to drive our shiny new car...
