--Lion Cubs - Mummy and Baby Group!-- We are all One Year Old!

Hello everyone :hi:...so glad to see us all moving over... the others will be here soon...

I have had sore nipples with every baby... with the first I didn't know that he wasn't latching on correctly and they actually split right down the middle.... it really hurt and I bled every time I fed him... I did it for 3 months then switched him to formula because I went back to work....

On the next one I read up and figured out the latch.. soreness in the beginning is okay but no big splits or cracks... also if you dont drink enough water in the day.. your supply goes down and they have to suck harder... also makes you sore....

Life of the breast feeding mom huh..

hi every one sorry to hear about all your soreness me Ive just got over my sore throat .... all that shouting push .. push harder well that hurt and not to mention my broken fingers all that squeezing :happydance:

dose any 1 else find pampers nappys rubbish? every time lucas has a poo it leacks out (all over my new white top yesterday)

congrats to all the new mummys cnt belive all the babys are so new it feels like lucas has allways been here.

Cleckner, it's during the night that my nipples leak most. I've started sleeping with a burpy cloth draped over them. It feels like such a waste of milk when I'm struggling to express enough between feeds.

More welcomes!! :wohoo: Welcome to poppymist & baby Warren, CARTER157 & baby Kelsey and puddingqueen & baby Jasmine! :happydance: :yipee:

xx

tmr, hope you're feeling better hun :hugs: Sorry to hear about Lucas's conjunctivitis too :( that can't be much fun for the little guy! Vince has still got a bit of a gooey eye (both actually, on and off) but we just keep clearing it out for him with cotton wool and cooled boiled water and it seems to be keeping conjunctivitis at bay so far.
We had to change back to the SMA gold again cos the hungry baby stuff was giving him awful wind problems and constipation, he spent hours each day straining for a poo, poor thing, and all he could squeeze out were these funny little yellow pellets!! Like yellow rabbit poo or something! :nope: But hopefully now that he's back on the gold it will get better again.
Not sure what will happen with his feeding though, last night he went 2 and a half hours twice in the night, then he randomly lasted 4 and a half hours till morning on his own! Slept right through! So maybe we just need to put up with the 2/2 and a half hour feeds for a bit and he will stretch it out in his own good time!? Fingers crossed it doesn't take too long hehe... Mummy and daddy could sure use some uninterrupted sleep some time soon!

I've had a massive flare up of arthritic-type joint pain :( I know that my condition can cause early onset arthritis, and I'm just hoping this isn't it just yet... But my doc has put me back on proper decent pain killers and other bits and pieces so hopefully that will keep it at bay. It makes it so hard to pick Vince up or do anything for him really, not fun! OH is wonderful though, as usual :)

xx

Nice to see all the new babies. :)

Shadow - hope your painkiller kick in soon.

Kiddo - are you giving bottles of EBM? how does Harvey take them? I want to get started with expressing, just need to find the motivation to get the pump sterilised and figure out how to use it!!

hey ladies... I finally got here! thanks for the invite, Shadow  :D

So, my boy, Adam Elliott was born on Saturday, August 15th and he is just the most awesome little chap I have ever seen! I haven't written my birth story yet, it's on my list of things to do but of course I don't get much time any more, at least not time with both hands free. if I could dictate it I would as I have plenty of time when breastfeeding. AE is a boob monster and once he gets going he doesn't want to let me go.

anyway, I haven't had a chance to read back yet but I shall... been keeping an eye on the 3rd tri thread - it feels so weird not to be pregnant any more. I miss it, in flashes here and there, but I don't miss how miserable I felt during the last couple of weeks.

it doesn't feel like only 6 days ago that I was pushing out a baby... funny how the whole world can change in an instant.

:)

OMG, you're so right!! Feels like an eternity ago that I was waiting to go into theatre to have Vince!! It all seems so fuzzy now, that whole period: I guess once you have that little baby in your arms, everything else just seems so small and insignificant!

 Isn't it awesome??? We're PARENTS!! :D :D

Shadow - Harvey's had the gooey eye too. The mw suggested cleaning it with breast milk which has worked a treat. I just expressed a little onto a piece of cotton wool and wiped it.

Joey - the plan is to give Harvey EBM now and again but I've not managed to express enough for a full portion yet. We've not decided whether we're going to use a bottle or cup for it yet, we'll just see how he gets on with it.

dose any 1 else find pampers nappys rubbish? every time lucas has a poo it leacks out (all over my new white top yesterday)

I actually love pampers... but there are different versions... and when baby starts to leak I move up to the next size... usually that takes care of the problelm...

They may look big on them at first ... but it doesn't take long for them to grow right into them...LOL

Love all the baby talk...

Thought i would pop in and say hi to our new group :)

Is everyone feeling like they are jet lagged or is it just me?!!!!!

Must be doing something right though with the never ending feeding, Rose lost 12% of her body weight after she was born (she was 4lb 9) and the scbu were really worried but now at 5 weeks old she is turning into a really fatty and weighs 6lb:happydance:

Still, a whole nights sleep would be soooooooo lovely hey :)

Hope everyone is doing ok and enjoying their babes x

*waves*

Thank you shadow rat and whoever made the pic for our siggies, I'm sorry I can't remember who it was...:dohh:

It was Nutty sweetie, I think she's still pretty busy with her new baby girl, Abbi, so she hasn't been on here that much. They're cute, though eh? :D

Kiddo, ta for the advice on the goopy eye, I heard that from a midwife too and we did try it a couple of times but I think my boobs are pretty empty now. If they aren't now, they soon will be, cos I'm back on the pill... It's pretty amazing all the stuff breastmilk can do, isn't it? I also heard that a bit of expressed breastmilk and a bit of fresh air is the best thing for sore nipples. Magic stuff!

grumpymoo, so glad to hear Rose is doing so well :) it must be wonderful to have a nice healthy weight gain when your little one is born so ickle :winkwink: Bless her :)

I got my new sling in the post this morning ladies, and I am wearing Vince in it right now!! I can officially recommend the Close Baby Carrier, it's sooooo comfy and feels lovely to wear him so close :D He loves it too, and it holds him in a great position for winding, which is much easier on my hands and arms. Can't wait to give it a spin in the wheelchair too! It's also very easy to use :) So there we go, that's my little "plug" hehehe!

How are all our lovely cubs doing now?? Anyone feel like posting some pics in the family album soon so that I don't feel like such a hog with all my pics of Vince in there?!? Hehe... I saw that you put one of little Kelsey up, Carter, she is lovely :)
:hugs:

Shadow x x x x x
Love to all

...I got my new sling in the post this morning ladies...

:dohh: Ooops, sorry Carter, I have to get out of the habit of saying "ladies" all the time now!!! It's so cool to have a daddy in the club :D Should I do what the March Mummies have done, and change the title of the thread to "Mummy/Daddy and Baby Group" ??? Hehehe...

xx

Hi Ladies, so nice to be back on BNB. Hope you are all well and congratulations to all the new mums. Have been MIA due to moving house last weekend which was an absolute nightmare with three kids and one of them being a newborn......... Not to mention that the house resemble a building site at it still isnt finished yet so the constant cleaning to remove dust has been terrible, plus no hot water too.........dont know how we managed but hey things are looking up now as the work is near completion and we now have hot water............yippee. So many posts to read, will probably be up all night reading them. Take care my lovelies
