Long Irregular Cycles 'r' Us

ive made a decision.. im off out at lunch to go buy some angus castus and i AM going to use it once af comes.... surely it cant do anything but help can it lol. oh and i cam going to buy some frers... just incase xxx

I forgot about the angus castus I have laying around here. Now that I've been to see the gynae and he simply told me to lose weight, I might discuss it again with my DH and see if he's ok with me starting it now.

Drakey, how long are you planning on taking it for? Every day until ovulation takes place?

It looks like I will be joining you girls - CD31 and no idea what to expect as first cycle off the pill

Can I ask how you all cope on such long cycles not knowing if it is a long cycle or possible pregnancy ???

unfortunately Mrs Doddy, you don't know! I tested regularly during my long cycles so i could catch pregnancy reasonably early to get an idea of dates.
I always ovulated late in my cycles, i got my :bfp: on CD65! at 18DPO (tested about 5 days earlier and got a :bfn:)

it's gonna be fun trying to determine my EDD as i'm sure i'm only about 7 weeks going on my chart but my LMP was 30th Dec 08! which would make me 11+6!

I thought about Agnus Castus but chickened out when I actually had to order it.

Welcome Mrs. Doddy, sorry you have to join us but glad you're here. Long cycles are tough. One tip: buy cheap tests and use name brands sparingly! I've spent a lot of money on OPK's and HPT's. It can be stressful, but I've gotten used to it. I've learned to take it day by day and hope for the best. My OH and I always go out for a nice dinner when AF arrives and I recently went on a shopping spree for some new clothes. It worked to keep my mind off of things.

yeh as soon as my af does arrive im taking it right up until i have ovd then stopping, ill be temping and using opks to predict it.... try it with me hun! ive heard some good things about angus castus, i got my tabs from holland and barrett, 200 u get and you take 2 in a morning and on an evening xx

Hello ladies, just checking in to say hi. How is everyone doing? I wondered about agnus castus Drakey - heard some good things about it really helping to regulate cycles. Hope it helps!

Hehe - we are watching The Great Sperm Race at the moment on channel 4 - Did anyone see it advertised? OH is laughing his head off at it and saying 'this is sh*t! - do you really need to watch it?!' They are likening the vagina to a mountain range and showing lots of little people in white suits (supposed to be sperm!) running through this valley to get to the cervix!... I am finding it quite fascinating actually!

Drakey, I'll join you! DH isn't too thrilled about it, but won't stop me either. He's just a little worried because of the conflicting information on the internet, and the information that mentions higher chances of abortion scare him. Me too to be honest, but it's worth a try...

I'll take my first one now, and will take 2 tomorrow after breakfast and then one after dinner. That will be the routine I'll try to settle in, until and if ovulating occurs. At the moment I'm not ovulating at all, so might have to take them until AF shows up again (not that she's left yet).

Sooo ... I'll be taking Vit B Complex (have been taking that for about a month now, but it doesn't seem to make any difference), Pregnancy Vits (not doing a thing for my cycles, though it does give me stronger nails!) and I'll start taking Angus Castus too. Lets see if all this will make a difference. And on top of that is my normal medication, magnesium pills and blood thinner.

lol im suprised you dont rattle erised! yep.. sounds like a plan to me, im going to go in for the kill when af turns up, 2 tabs at morning and 2 at night, and we will see how it goes... i was a little confused by the conflicting info on the net, but hey its only herbs int it. gunna give it a go any way, been meaning to try it for ages now so at least ive made the first step and bought some. but must admit i need to lose weight, this may also be the reason for my long cycles and for not ovulating. im still young so cant see being any thing nastily wrong, but suppose you never know

bring on the pill popping lol

Well, feel free to join me in weight loss! =)

I've got quite a bit to lose, 81 pounds before I'm in the normal BMI range. I'm only 9 lbs in, so quite a way to go still. That said, there is no way I'll ever get to that weight or want to go to that weight. BMI of 30 or less is needed for help in conceiving (hopefully I won't get to that though!), so that would be 48 lbs to lose for me, 39 left to go.

Hoping losing weight will help me ovulate naturally, combined with all the pills of course!

yeh thanks hun, think i will join you on that one! i would say 80lbs is a gd goal for me too. not sure what bmi it would leave me at, but as long as i feel healthier, cant wait for summer i love eating new potatoes and salad while sat in the garden! yum yum. ha just orderd a BBQ as well, ill be fine if i stick to the chicken! lol. i just dont have the motivation.. some one needs to kick me up the bum i think, hope this is the answer to our long irregular cycles! xxx

Hey Lucy! Glad you stopped by. I wish I had The Great Sperm Race in the US because I'd like to see it.

Good luck girls with the Agnus Castus and weight loss!

Yeah I watched The Great Sperm Race aswell with DH. We both thought it was really interesting and also a little scary - it's a wonder how anybody gets pregnant with all the obstacles the little buggers have to contend with - and thats if you ovulate regularily!

Am still waiting for my appointment to come through from the fertility doctor - I hope it comes through soon and they prescribe me clomid! Have been some success stories online and am trying to stay positive. But am not a patient person so can be a little difficult sometimes!

I too would like to lose a little weight - BMI is about 30 at the mo and I get worried that they won't prescribe Clomid if I don't lose some weight - ideally I would like to lose about 21lbs - but it's so difficult at the moment - i just can't get motivated! x

hi everyone i too would like to lose some weight about 1 stone, im on cd7 and nothings happening yet think ive got a way to go till i o, but whos counting[haha]

Aly, I doubt they wouldn't give you Clomid because your BMI is 30. 30 Or less is what you need to get IVF treatment, so even for that you'd be on the ok edge. That said, if you've been trying for less than a year they will tell you to try and lose weight, as the NHS doesn't cover treatment if you've been trying for less.

We went to check out 2 properties to rent today. The first was gorgeous, but unfortunately doesn't accept DSS and as it's our first property and DH is self employed I don't feel comfortable enough to rent without having DSS for back up. So that one won't be for us.

The second ... hmm. The whole house would need painting and was dirty, the carpet is old and filthy, the bedrooms were tiny and one of the 'bedrooms' you wouldn't even be able to fit a cot in!! The toilet also didn't flush, so no thanks

Our search continues
I also got complimented on my weight loss when we got back in! =D A friend of MIL was over, and she asked me if I lost weight as apparently she thought I did. Yay her!

I would have liked to have seen The Amazing Sperm Race too. :hissy:

Losing weight: I have LOADS of that to do! :dohh:

That's great! Good luck on the apartment search...

Thanks Erised. At least thats one less thing to worry about - I might actually lose some if I'm not in a mad panic to lose some! If that makes sense! Am gonna start my training for Race For Life next week so that might help abit. Would ideally like to lose about 7lbs by the time I get my appointment through for the fertility doctor so at my BMI will under 30 - every little helps and all that! Think I'm gonna go back to my Slimming World eating plan - that's what worked for me last time (if only I kept it up after I got married! - have put on 2 stone since then!!)

Congratulations on your weight loss Erised - it's a great motivator when people notice aswell - keep up the good work!
Good luck with the house search - I hope you find something soon x

:hi: Hello ladies, just wondering if there's room for another one in here?

I joined bnb last year but have only just realised that I've never been in this section :dohh:

I started charting last October and on my 3rd cycle, first was 40 days, 2nd was 64 days (ended in a chemical preg) and am currently on CD62, and according to FF am 6dpo.

It would be nice to chat with others in the same boat.
