Hi Ladies ~

Just wanted to know what everyone else is doing for Nursery or baby theme. We are team yellow so this is even more difficult than what I thought it would be.

I wanted to start gender neutral then once baby is here add to it based on gender but it isn't as easy as it sounds LOL

Just wanted some ideas besides googling, and pinteresting ;)

I wanted to go with an Ocean theme, but my room is ocean theme you think that will be just redundant?? and if it's a girl I can add mermaids and if it's a boy I could add sailboats, anchors etc. I just don't want to repeat my room in babies room and just be um ... same ol' same ol' LOL

I did Lion King theme for my first and will be doing so again for this one. I did champagne yellow for the base color, a light baby green strip around the room, and the carpet was already a tan color. And then I added a bunch of lion king stuff.

I personally like your idea of an ocean theme. Like you said you can easily add stuff to it. It's easier to add then it is to take away.

We have a bunny and ted range from next which is neutral and we've kept everything else neutral too. I did think of going for the tatty teddy range and then adding bright pink or blue as much as possible after baby was born but we decided in our little room the grey was too cold.

I like your ocean theme too! Who cares if your room is ocean theme too? Heck turn the bathroom ocean theme as well and you have a nice style for your whole house that lets everyone know you like the beach! :) :) :)

I have always thought Classic Pooh was a lovely nursery theme :) (I don't have a nursery, baby is gonna share our room and we have a "Can't really afford a real bedroom set so we have mismatched things" theme! lol :)

I'm going with alphabet zoo theme which is gender neutral. But I also love birds so I painted a few bird houses bright colors and will put it on a wall. We will be only getting pink for her clothes :)

We're doing a mixture of planes/trains/automobiles and adventure theme. We'll have antique cars and trains on the shelves, an old plane flying overhead, etc. But, then we're going to have adventure things here and there. We have books from the 1930s that are guides to being a boy scout, so we'll put those up. Just kind of a "oh the places you'll go" type of feel. We found this rug in an antique store and we love it!

I wouldn't say that we have a theme, but I painted three walls blue and one grey. On the grey wall I am going to put the tree stencil that I have attached and will put the crib under it as pictured. I am also going to get an elephant holding a balloon stencil to put somewhere on another wall. We are getting an espresso color crib and dresser and a grey, Baby Relax Mackenzie rocker. I have also seen a lot of blue and grey pictures for the nursery on Etsy. That is a great site. I love decorating the nursery!!

What about jungle or farm?

Mine is a yellow and gray elephant theme (I started buying before we decided to find out the gender) but since it's a boy were going to be adding some turquoise as well so it's got a boy feel to Iit. :)

Head over to Babies R Us. They have tons of gender neutral stuff - especially adorable little animals themes, Winnie the Pooh, etc.

This is what we did for our nursery. And it will be great for years.. lots of decals and stuff out there, check out etsy

Buy buy baby has a large selection of bedding choices so I've been zooming in and out of there looking at the sets for ideas. I like ocean too! But no desire to paint the yellow walls in baby's room. Not interested in beach theme since we live at one. Wish I could find more sea animal feel though. Drawn to dragonflies and soft greens to complement the yellows.

I like the ocean theme idea! It was one of my top choices too when planning my nursery for my first.

For our first little one I had decided before he was conceived (so for both by and girl :) ) was a sky themed room. We painted it a light blue and have clouds & birds all around. His crib and changing table are white and above the changing table is a rainbow. His mobile is hot air balloons. Above his crib I found a large sticker of an airplane that is writing his name on he wall.

For our second little one I decided since they are close in age I am going to do a starry night theme for the second room with planet mobile.

I'm having boy/girl twins. I had found quilts that had the same green in them, but with pink for the girl and blue for the boy, so accessories would have been green. I ordered them then was told the girl's one was no longer available. So, today, I found new blankets online and am going with an owl theme, also using green as the accessories color. So cute!

We are going for a jungle theme, walls will be a pale green and I've seen monkey wall stickers that I want :).

I did love the mamas and papas Jamboree sets and we were going to base out theme on that until I saw how expensive the set was. Personally I think £85 for a pillow case and a small cot size comforter is extortionate!.
