LOST: The Final Chapter - discussion/theory thread! **May Contain Spoilers!**

Aren't they all going to meet up at this concert? Jack mentioned it to his son, Hurley got Kate, Sayid and Desmond out of jail and said they were going to a concert or something like that? Maybe they all have to be in the same place, like they all had to be on the plane to get back to the island.

Maybe Hurley is now Jacob, cause he can see him since he died and couldn't see anyone who was dead before that...and now he's getting them all together, but breaking those 3 out of jail....

I figured that Hurley would kinda be like the MIB, from the episode "Across The Sea". When MIB asked his Mom why Jacob couldn't see her she replied about how she was dead. Hurley sees dead people, but I don't see his character becoming all evil, not in the last episode of the series!

Yeah, there was the sideways flash with Jin getting locked into that freezer/refrigerator (?) when Sayid came and inadvertently rescued him. Then Sun got shot. I think the last SW Flash with them was when they were in the hospital?

Did anyone else wake up at 5am to watch the Finale or was it just me? I couldn't wait to watch it any other time, I needed to know what happened.
After six years of dedicated viewing I have to admit, I was slightly dissapointed that some of the questions didn't get answered - for example

.Where did the Island come from?
.Who/what exactly was the smoke monster and why was he on the island in the first place?
.What was with all of the Egyptian mythology?
.Where did the statue come from?
.Who was Jacobs and MIB's mother, where did she come from?
.Who found the Island in the first place and why was it so special?
.And of course, where was WAAAALLLTT!?

Anyway - I guess in the end it wasn't the island that really mattered, and the program wasn't made to answer all of those questions all though it would've been nice if they did. It was all about Jack, and his journey in to finding himself and connecting with all those people, all of them realizing they weren't so "Lost" anymore.
Some people died before, some people lived their life and died afterwards, but they all remembered and reuinted in the end to be with eachother and the people that they really connected with, loved and soemtimes lost and I suppose in the end, I'm happy that they all got their happy ending and "let go"

Still would've liked more answers on the Island though, not just none of that actually mattered in the end and everyone just got a happy ending. So bitter sweet.

i honestly thought all the way through "this is gonna be good" i loved them all clashing and meeting up and remembering again.......... then the end? SHIT!!

my friends and I are writing up theories and seding them to each other through FB!! Might shed some light on some things i missed maybe!!

I honestly thought, the whole lot of them were living lives like in the film sixth sense.... where they thought they were alive but were actucally dead and could only really interact with other dead people, ya know?

So i thought the end would throw up flashbacks as to why they were all suddenly seeing each other again (cos they had died too) and hpw they thought they were livinng normal lives but werent really communicating with the living!

This wont make much sense!!

I might have misunderstood, but I thought that when Jacob threw his brother down in to the cave/light his brother actually died from the incident, or the magnetic field that's down there, and then the smoke monster was released. When Jacob found him in the stream, he was dead and he laid his body to rest next to his mothers in the cave. The smoke monster is able to take on others peoples forms by using their bodies, like it did with Lockes. So, the smoke monster wasn't actually the MIB, the smoke monster was just using jacobs brothers dead body as a host, so he looked like him but wasn't actually him. So I was curious as to where the smoke actually came from in the first place.
I might have totally misunderstood the whole thing and this isn't right, but that's what I've been thinking. I don't understand how Jacobs brother could just become the black smoke all of a sudden? other than the smoke already "being" and then using his body.

I think it took his body from him and the smoke is like his soul, Jacob obviously thought his brother was dead because he saw his body. If you remember MIB told someone "he" did this too me. He stole my body. I think anyway lol

Ahh, I see! and I just read on Lostipedia that when he was thrown in to the cave, he left his physical body behind and emerged as the black smoke.

Ok, the ending was pretty bizarre. I understand the whole afterlife/purgatory thing about the alt universe... but why bother showing the island submerged in the first episode of series 6?

I also like the fact that the island still has mysteries eg the statue. Although in Across the Sea I don't think there was any date mentioned so Jacob could've been there for thousands of years - plenty of time to get someone to make a nice statue for him to live under!

And I'm so glad it was Hurley

i havent watched about past 3 epissdes... hope its not as disappoinnting as it seems... though i reckon it probably is x
