say for instance if i was 2 have 3 sweeps carried out over 3 hours would it have more chance of working ?

and how long does it take to kick start things if it did work typically?

thanks:thumbup:

i dont think it works like that a sweep is an attempt to shift the membranes from over the cervix... so i dont think it would make any diff if you had a sweep every 3 hours or every 3 weeks lol

Nothing except chemicals/ hormones will work unless bubs is ready I don't think. Membranes bein broken dint guarantee labor

lol the things that we consider doing in sheer desperation hey?

i am so over being pregnant now but i wont be taking any silly measures only natural ways.

my midwife is really open minded and is willing to do this for me but i just need to know if its a waste of time lol

I dunno if Shea recommending it give it a try. It might be pretty painful tho.
Either way good luck :)

To be honest its the risk of infection you need to worry about. x

And distressing baby.

Personally (as a student MW) I think its a bad idea and I wouldnt even consider it for either myself or one of the women in my care.

I think if i remember rightly NICE set out guidelines saying a membrane sweep should only be given every so man days.

Also as someone else said, if your body isnt ready, it wont work no matter how many times its done.

as long as hands are clean i'm sure it will work. as ive posted several times my friend AGGRAVATED her cervix by putting her finger up real high and moving it back and forth and she was in active labor just a couple hours later with a baby born in 8 hours....yes it does work...and she didnt have a "sweep".... she done this herself at home, but like i said had clean hands..

xxx
