LTTC with 'unexplained' infertility?

LittleBunnie,

The plan is for them to get me to take my trigger dose of hormone on Saturday night, as this needs to be done 36 hours before collection. Then the collection takes place at the hospital under sedation. They use a probe and a needle to reach the overies, extract the follicles and count the eggs...im off work until Wednesday as I expect to be pretty sore....my left overy is hidden partially behind my uterus so I expect for them to have to have a rummage lol. Were hoping for a 5 day blastocyst transfer so will go back next Friday to have the blastocyst transferred, this is similar to an internal scan and won't require sedation. So excited!!!!!!!!!!

Oh wow! That sounds like a long awaited process Tink! I do hope everything goes well. Make sure to keep me updated love! :flower:

Wishi, I hate cycles like that. :( Most of the time I O anywhere from CD 14-17, past two cycles I have O'd around CD 20ish. It just means a longer cycle for me as my LP is 14 days. Have they done any kind of testing for you hun? Oddly enough, I haven't noticed any difference with the EPO/Soy, I may give this FertilCM thing a try if the EPO doesn't work. :hugs:

Wishing - have you had a semen analysis done on your hubs? Also, have they done any bloodwork on your estrogen and progesterone? Thyroid?

I'm in FL, too.

AFM - I'm also in the LTTTC without a single positive, unexplained besides low progesterone - corrected via suppositories during LP. We just found out that this month was a negative. So, we're at officially 1.5 years into this journey...not one anyone ever wants to be on. Since my progesterone was corrected, it's almost like we started the clock over again with being legitimately able to conceive.

Praying you all respond to your various procedures and quickly. I wouldn't put this on my worst enemy!

Good luck with EC Tink!! :happydance:

Wishing- 3 years is an awfully long time to make someone wait! That is so frustrating! :hugs: I hope you get the help you need soon!

Littlebunnie- Good luck with the soy and epo! Let us know how it works. Fx!

Profwife- sorry about another BFN :hugs: I hope your sticky lil bean is here soon!!

AFM- Cleared for surgery. Only 4 more sleeps now until I hopefully get some answers and can say I am no longer 'unexplained.'

Oh btw, how rude of me. I am Nadia. :hugs:

Pro, I know EXACTLY what you mean! It almost always feels like our timing gets reset with everything new we try. *sigh* Slowly but surely? Meh! I am glad that you are getting progesterone though. Hopefully your sticky bean comes way sooner rather than later. :hugs:

Hati, What all are they going to do hun?

I don't think anyone has tested my levels in several years. Which is so stupid to me. Also, DH has not had a semen analysis, they want to focus on me for now as I am very irregular. Just a stupid, drawn out process that should have been done forever ago!!!! Very frustrated.

Cd22 now. I think I got a + OPK but hard to tell. Will test again tomorrow to see what happens then. copious creamy white CM so not sure if that means anything or not.

Good luck in your adventures ladies, I hope we see some answers and bfp's soon!!!

19 eggs collected!!! I've affectionately renamed the surgeon Edward Scissorhands....alot of pain but have taken over the couch :) for a couple of days. Hope you ladies are all ok?? X x

Oh, that's great, Tink! Hope the pain goes away soon. Can't wait to hear how things are progressing. :)

WOW! 19 eggs?! Way to go!!

AFM :witch: Officially a year and a half today.

wishing- Did you get your positive opk??? As for testing, have you thought about getting a different doctor?

Tink- You are an egg making machine! 19 is a great number! Rest and take it easy the next few days. Will you get a call each day with updates?

Profwife- sorry to hear about the :witch: :hugs:

LittleBunnie- I'm having a hyseroscopy. They will put a scope/camera in my uterus to look for abnormalities. If they find any they will fix them. If my doc finds no problems, she'll take 4 biopsies which is supposed to help with lining problems/implantation. So keeping my fx until its over!

Nah, have had a few close to + but none that are a true +. So, I shall continue POAS! Lol. Got Digi OPK's that are going to be here today, going to start using them tomorrow. :)

I will be going to RE if the clomid cycles fail. I have had some bad doctors but the newest one seems to be more willing to help. He just wanted to wait and observe for a couple of months. Will see him on Thursday for more testing and getting prepped for my next cycle on Clomid. :)

FX for you ladies!!!!

Embryologist called of the 19, 13 were viable and only 5 fertilised. Trying to stay positive though and all being well I will have a strong blastocyst transferred on Saturday!

May I join?

I too am lumped in the Unexplained category. I've had a saline sonogram, normal. All blood work, normal. Hormones, normal. Had a HSG they thought both tubes were completely blocked (bilateral blockage) had a lap/dye October 2012....all clear no issues! Did 4 rounds of Clomid & Letrozole monitored cycles with trigger shots and timed intercourse...nada, nothing not a single BFP.

Prior to my DH I was in a solid relationship for almost 5 years, we never used any protection and we actively trying never got pregnant.

My DH and I have been trying since August 2011.

I believe my issue may be linked to progesterone but I can't seem to get my FS to take my seriously on the issues. The last time we checked my blood work on a natural cycle as I was spotting for 2 weeks prior to my periods, my progesterone levels came back at 5.3 which my FS said anything over 5 indicates ovulation has occurred....but I mean I was barely over 5, he said when we try our first IUI he will give me progesterone support as it is low. I spot for at least 7-12 days prior to my period, every single cycle. Except when I am on Clomid or Letrozole as both meds raise up your progesterone.

I hate the word unexplained.....UFO's are unexplained fertility shouldn't be!! :haha:

Tink, FX FX :dust:!!!

Hearmyprayers, I'm sorry you are going through all of this and have been put in this category. :( it's such a horrible thing...I don't even think we can classify this as a diagnosis as they don't really know what's wrong. So many questions left unanswered. :(

Thanks, and so very true. It just feels like your stuck between a rock and a hard place, I'd rather have an issue to work on so I have hope that something will work, now I feel I'm left in a grey area with thoughts that run all over the place. Very unfair and I wish none of us had to go through this.

Tink, that is fantabolous news! Keep us updated! :hugs:

CD 11 and it almost looks like the primrose might be working. I still have thickish CM but my OPKs are progressing. I am hoping I O around CD 14-16. Trying not to worry so much about it. I did take 40MGs of soy this time around so I'm hoping that has some effect.

I've also been reading about something called 'welcome womb'? Has anyone heard of it? It is something you add to your drinks and is supposed to help with fertility.

:hugs: Hey there Pray, I wish I could be excited saying welcome but I am sorry you are stuck on this 'unexplained' fertility boat as well.

I absolutely hate when Dr's don't take us seriously. Just because I look young doesn't mean I am. I am what my husband calls 'wise beyond my years.' I also think I know my body a bit and what it needs/doesn't need. :(

:flower: Today is the day (in Korea, I think I'm a bit ahead)! I hope everything goes as smoothly as possible, and they can finally get some answers for you!

Its true, most doctor's judge a book by the cover and that's not fair. Sometimes, I don't know if my FS isn't taking me seriously, or its all a money scam to them, they just want to do as many procedures because that = $$$$ to them!
