Mamas and Papas Sola and Sola2

we ordered our pram last November as we got it on such a good offer. we got the Mamas and Papas sola in black, with carry cot, maxi cosi cabriofix car seat and adapters all for £399.00.

i paid upfront as it was such a good offer and will be collecting in the next few weeks (im due in april)

anyway, i noticed that they have bought out a Sola 2 now, which looks almost the same! i called to see if i could pay the difference and have the new one but it was over £200.00 more, as i would lose the discount we got on the original order.

if i pay more, im only saving £40.00 but if i stick with the one ive got, i save £234.00.

ive looked at the spec and they basically look identical. the weight, dimensions etc are EXACTLY the same. can anybody tell me what is actually different? or do they just update the fabric design?? even the inside of the hood on the new one is the same pattern as mine...

I have no idea what the difference is but I think you should stick with the original sola.

I've had my sola since DD (now 2 and a half years old) was a newborn and love it. I still use it as a stroller now from time to time and will be using it for the new baby with a buggie board attached for DD. Its super cumfy, robust and easy to manoeuvre as it is so I can't see the new one being that much better. Certainly not £200 worth of better anyway!

I reckon if you're struggling to tell the difference, there probably isn't much difference

i think thats it, the package price on the one i have is still £669.00 and we only paid £400.00 so a bargain!

thanks for your response. i personally think the fabrics have just been updated only slightly, theres not major difference that i can tell!

sooo....been a bit of a geek and printed both specs off. i crossed out things on each that were identical and guess what, nothing extra on the new model! so im def keeping the one i ordered at that bargain price!

I'm the same had the Sola since my dd was born and she's 2 and 3 months now.

We have a buggy but I much prefer to use my Sola as I can have her facing me.

If no difference stick with the first oe I've had no problems with mine!

I also have an original sola and was my best baby purchase!! My DD is nearly 3 and we do use a pushchair/stroller type now on the occasion she goes in it but this was really only because we went abroad and didn't want to take the sola with us in case of damage as well as space but we do have a mamas and papas stroller as we loved our sola that much. I have cleaned it all up ready for this LO to make an appearance. I would recommend if you havent already, getting the carrrycot and adaptors (we had a maxi-cosi cabriofix) for the car seat as this was fantastic!!

loved my sola used it every day til it gave up this summer (at 3.5 years old almost). i think the difference is the front wheels are recessed slightly in the new version so it fits better in smaller boots. i would stick with what you have we got the zoom this time as hopefully it will go in the boot
