March Mamas 2012 Baby Group (Closed Group)

Second that emera....E wont know or judge and you'll be happy too after the initial sadness

i feed M 7:30am (15 min after she wakes), about 11:30am, 3:30pm and 6:15 ish....mixture of 6-7oz. As she sleeps from 6:15-7:15 i like to make sure she gets enough during the day. She typically takes between 25-27oz a day...she weighs about 13lb now i think

WT, that's stupidly hot - makes our 31 degrees (88 F) sound cool!!

L&L, I really hope O isn't ill. It's no fun having a sick baby! :hugs:

Got my whole house cleaned today - dishes, bathroom, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, even wiping walls and doors. :happydance: :happydance: I'm happy because I wanted it all done before DH was off work, as he has a long weekend and I want to spend it doing fun things, not cleaning.

Sounds like we have had a similar day Crowned! All I have left to do is the bathroom which I am leaving for Keira's next nap as I want to shower first.

Question. When I go back to work Keira will be a year Actual but only 9 months adjusted. I wanted to BF her until at least 12 months adjusted but will that be possible? Will I have to start combi feeding when I go back to work or will she be eating enough food at that point to only BF at night and in the morning? I'd like to avoid formula altogether if possible as that is just one more expense that I'd like to not take on.

Skad, it really depends how much she's feeding  a lot of babies go down to 2/3 feeds a day by about 9 months, so maybe you'd be feeding her morning and evening, and perhaps expressing for a lunchtime/afternoon feed. Of course some babies still want 4/5 feeds a day up to 18 months+ so it depends. To be honest though if you set a routine in place with meals, snacks and feeding before you are going back to work Keira will get used to it and you can make sure it suits both your needs. ;). Also remember if she wants a lunch feed, you wouldn't have to express it then, you could express after she's gone to bed each day. Or before she's up in the morning and just have it fed to her at whatever point in the day. As long as you express at the same time each day then your supply will provide for it. It will also cope if Keira fancies an extra feed or so on your days off. :)

Good advice on bf and work! I was worrying about that too!

Ok, I need some advice...

I noticed in the bath today that A has a red spotty rash on her chest. Nowhere else and seems to stop at the nappy line. If she was an adult I'd have said contact allergy rash. She doesn't have a temperature and is fine in herself. Any ideas? Should I be worried?

Crowned I love getting everything sorted its so satisfying! :) my house definitely needs a good clean! However I've managed to sort a load of stuff out today, I've re-done all Roh's toy storage and got all his craft and activity stuff organised. Also sorted his kitchen playspace out. As well as that I've vac-packed a load of clothes, like all our winter clothes and coats and put them in storage boxes so everything is all neat and tidy! :). We have an outbreak of clothes moths here, so I'm trying to put everything away so they can't eat it all!!! :( Evil little things, they all hide behind a stud wall in the flat, so we can't get to them! Grr! I hate them, I thought we'd managed to eradicate them, but the buggers are back! :nope:

Skadi - S was having 3 feeds a day at 9 months and then cut it down to 2 feeds at about 10 and a half months so it will definitely be possible for you

Kind of - it's like the prickly heat I used to get when I was younger.

Laura, I'd guess from where the rash is that its a heat rash, an eczema type rash, or maybe a slight reaction to the washing powder, which can happen randomly. Or it could be a viral rash, which they get with everything!! I'm assuming you did the rolling a glass over it check?

Yup, it disappears when it's pressed/touched.

Yes, I was thinking heat rash but I'll keep a really close eye on it.

You'll all soon discover that pretty much everything comes with a rash for babies! As long as it blanches out when pressed then its likely nothing to worry about, like you sad Laura, keep an eye on it, but I'd suspect the same as you, prickly heat type rash. X

Thanks Emera and Sambles... I know its still pretty far off but I've been feeling a little stressed out about it! I do have my pump in style tote so I can definitely bring it to work and pump at work too.

Gah OH is already done work and Keira hasn't woken up from her nap so getting my shower in is going to be difficult. I should have just grabbed the monitor and went for it two hours ago! Things are so much easier when only one baby is home. :p

Hello peeps!

Laura, hope the rash is just boring old heat rash. Its the right weather for one!

Loving all the organisation chat, im far from that. Ts room is awful at the moment as all the bathroom stuff is in there. Speaking of which... We now have a loo, sink and bath working... Just waiting for a shower... I cannot wait for one!

I just stood on a thorn. Ow.

T is crashed out on the sofa... Oops.

Food porn... My aldi has a load of American food in for july 4th... Ive been scoffing massive marshmallows dipped in hersheys syrup... Holy crap its good. I feel sick.
X

Missy, yay for most a bathroom! and yum to the marshmallows! I'm eating malteasers and toffifee of all things. OHs friend from work popped round and bought me chocolates, love 'im!!!

Missy...your post made.me.:haha:.....those marshmallows sound lovely.

I have had a naughty lday food.wise...m&s had these hot cross bun type.things with thick white icing...i love iced bns and these were amazing. Pack.of.two didnt last long...although i.did have 3 hours in.between them

Hubby left.work.a.little early tonight to.get home and have.half.an hour with M before bed at 6:30. Typical friday traffic meant that by 6:10 he wasnt home and rather than her being overtired and screamy she was.just passing out:haha: soooo funny. I put her on playmat while i.went to get bottle...came back and she was trying to sleep. Took her upstairs onto changing mat to.get sleepsuit on her and she nearly.fell.asleep....poor girl:kiss:...had to.start her bottle without him...he finished off. Dont like to feed her too sleepy as its hard to burp (she falls asleep during:haha:) and to make sure she gets a good.feed down her.

Off to wisley for a.picnic tomorrow....takijg an extra.bottle.with just cooled boiled.water.in.case i need to give her a bit

Hurrah for the house progress Missy.

I hope the rash clears up Laura :-{ I get prickly heat rash at the drop of a hat so maybe it's that.

Naps and sleep. E's a bit random, I just try and pop her down whenever she gets wide eyed and yawny. In the day it's downstairs in the carrycot and will soon be the pushchair as the carrycot's getting snug. I'll move her upstairs when we finally have a nursery to speak of, probably in a month or so....when I can be arsed to strip the wallpaper and sort a laptop for duel use so we can junk the computer.

Please don't laugh. It's taken me ages but I've finally gotten a monitor and tonight is the first night I've fed E to sleep and put her to bed in her cradle. Previous to this she's gone into her carrycot in the living room until I've gone to bed. It's a leftover from when she used to fall asleep on me. Mentally, it's taken me ages to put the distance between us, so she's miles (arf, it's a 2 bed terraced house) upstairs and I have a monitor here. Might actually watch some TV tonight. Oh the luxury.

Referring to miles of posts back, I have not had a VBAC, rather, I have a poor brain for acronyms and meant something else entirely. *sigh* sorry for any confusion.

MsC, enjoy your evening of luxury, being in a room on your own!!! OH often uses the pc in the bedroom whilst F is sleeping, but i just only want to be in the sitting room or dining room, because as much as i adore my children, and think they are the most wonderful things in my life, i need a little bit of time in the day when i can imagine i'm alone and i'm not Mummy for a few minutes, or i start getting a melty brain! ;)
