March Mamas 2012 Baby Group (Closed Group)

Oh no Kymied so sorry to hear about your stepsister! :hugs:

WT - My friend said breast milk clears up baby acne overnight. I really think it's probably a miracle cure to everything. We should start bottling it as a cure all for big bucks.

OK lets be honest here: Who's tasted it?

Kymied...sorry about.your stepsister :-(

I havent.actually tasted the breast milk but not adverse to.it :)

Kymeis. I can't believe that! I'm so sorry. How old was she?

Ted is about the same with feeding. Much more like 3 hourly at night. Hoping the new techniques extend that

Kymied, so sorry about your stepsister! That's shocking and so sad.

It took almost 2 months before we dtd and it was a little uncomfortable feeling so we didn't again until just recently.

I was so tired for her 5:30 am feed this morning that instead of sitting up with my snoogle we just both laid down in bed. I woke up an hour later in panic after a dream to find her sleep eating! Lol. She was easy to get back in her cradle and I felt more rested this morning than usual but I won't be repeating it!

I haven't tasted my milk lol

Kym - sorry to hear about your step sister :hugs:

Feeding - anything from 30mins to 3 hours but seems to take an hour sometimes to feed. I'm going to try this switch feeding thing, really need to sped this up so we can get stuff done in the day or sleep at night! Didn't get out the house til 2 today and as we have a 1.30 registry office appt tomorrow I need fast results!

One Q, do your little ones get hiccups? Poor Z has been going for the last few mins, feel sorry for him!

Loz Ted always gets hiccups. He looks so annoyed by them!

Keira gets hiccups all the time too, she gets an angry face when she has them. I usually put her to breast to help them go away quicker.

I'm actually not sure how old she was, low 40's.

My little man gets hiccups all the time and after each one makes a pissed off face. It
s so cute.

I cannot imagine DTD anytime soon. My front stitches still hurt a bunch. Maybe in a month or two!

Kymied - so sorry for you loss xxx

I'm feeling rather delicate at the moment. I managed to convince myself ealier that Jess has unicoronal synistosis as it runs in our family. I'm hoping that it's nothing more then a conbination of hormones, lack of sleep and the scary mental health side effect of the steroids I'm on.

Still I shall keep an eye on her head and if anything changes bring it up at her six week check. I always tend to over worry where my girls heads are concerned.

:hugs: Sea3, it's only natural to overworry! But remember that the act of worrying accomplishes nothing except stressing you out.

So sorry for your loss Kymied! :(

I've tasted my milk. Not a huge gulp or anything, but a couple drops on my tongue. It's sweet! I suppose my chocolate chip cookie binges are responsible for that.

As for feedings... we are about 3 hour between every start, which typically translates to 2 hours between the end of one feeding and the start of the next.

Kymied, I am so sorry for your loss. It's really shocking news for you. :hugs:

I've tried a spot of breast milk. Tastes odd and I can't see myself trying again!!!

Waula, D always falls asleep during feeds, but I either play music on my iPod or encourage her and she usually carries on sucking. I don't properly wind her between each switch, but I give her a few taps and a rub. She doesn't really get wind.

Lozza, be aware it could take 12-24 hours for your milk to adapt to any new feeding technique. It works for us though.

Having said that D is getting an extra feed in this evening. Usually she sleeps from her last one until I go to bed, but she had her FEED ME face on so she's having another one. Can only be a good thing as the mw is back tomorrow for a 3rd weigh.

I licked my finger earlier as it got covered. Not enough to really taste though... kind of vaguley sweet. Ted has been feeding (without sheilds!!!! ) all evening. I'm proud of him.

I'm wondering about dtd soonish...

i'm mid switch feeding loo!!!! xxx

go ted!!!! woohoo!!! xxx

Kymied, I'm so sorry about your step sister. :hugs:

Switch feeding sounds amazing!

We normally get about 4 hours between feeds which in practise means about three hours sleep in between.

I've not tasted myself yet although I'm sort of willing to give it a try.

As for DTD, we've done it already. Was quite nice lthough needed loads of lube. It's nice to want it agin though!

evening all,

havent tasted the breast milk yet.... might at some point (agree not a gulp but a little taste)

can i have some advice from my fellow breastfeeding mamas, please? R feeds well but my breasts feel quite engorged (in fact the left one i think is on overdrive and seems always full). Will my breasts settle down or will they now remain the size they are? they are huge and my bras do not fit. In fact they are painfully tight. Should i go and buy new ones or should i wait? my milk has been in about 2 days.

please help!

Baby R is doing really well and having a bit more sleep has made a world of difference. Fingers crossed for another good night.
