March Mamas 2012 Baby Group (Closed Group)

Here is Keira rolling over. I had just changed her mid-feed because she was falling asleep and she was pissed off about it so I knew it was a good time to get her to roll over! lol I thought I would try again after her feed but she was fast asleep.

Does any one know a trick to getting a newborn to open their hand? We did foot prints and got one decent hand print but couldn't get him to reliably open his hand. My husband thinks it's silly but I really want to make a photo and print collage. It's a sentimental thing, he'll never again be this small.

KKL did you add me on facebook?

Kymied- when I had bubs hands and feet done the lady suggested breastfeeding to open bubs hands..

Here we are once again doing the 5am feed!! Feeling a bit nervous about the mw visit later. I really really hope she signs us off. D has been feeding so much better since her last weigh so I'm hoping it's payed off. Even if we are not back up to her birth weight, a good few ounces would be nice!! Let's hope she doesn't fill and wet her nappy again before hand!!! :grr: it's like she WANTED to lose weight!!! :haha:

Good luck today Loo....fingers crossed for a fab weight gain.

Well Mia put herself all out of synch yesterday....not all bad...fed 6:00pm, 9pm, 12.30am, 4:20 then a random 6:30am....doh could have done without that one. Previous form should have taken.us through til nearly 8am:haha:. Didnt want to.wake her fpr 11pm feed when we went to.bed but in hindsight we probably.should have done.

Are you changing LO at every feed? We did at 12:30am one but not at 4:20 one. Nappy seemedcok to.fill and smell.

Morning all mamas btw :happydance:

oh and have a banging headache still :-( must drink.more water i think

I'm so jealous of that schedule Mitch!

I'm so jealous of that schedule Mitch!

Likewise! I fed at 10.30, 12.30, 3.30, 5,7 and 8.45 I think, which was a good night as that meant batches of 90 min sleeps in between!

Register the birth this afternoon which means we have a deadline to be out the house. Uh oh!

Just off to register her! Hooray!

A slept brilliantly last night... 10pm - 2am - 6am - 8.30am. I feel amazing after two nights of almost constant feeding!

x

Well the feeding last night was amazing. I'm so happy I went yesterday. He fed at 9.30pm, 1.20,5 and 6.30 (which I was expecting because the 5am one was only 10 mins). But without the shields its so quick. Latch him on, feed, he burps himself as he comes off, then he falls asleep while he's latched. So much calmer and I'm not covered in milk all night! Didn't have to change my bra once and the bed is still clean. I'm so happy.

Mitch, I change at each daytime feed but not every time at night. I put loafs of sudocrem O. At night though just in case.

Good luck with the me loo.

Jacob is so sweet! What a perfect little face.

Yay kiera. She's so cute

Mitch, I still haven't really figured out childcare. DH will be home during May and July, so those are covered. He'll be out of the country for 3 full weeks in July so his mom is going to come stay with us then. However once August hits, I have no idea what we will do. I hope to win the lottery by then.

Skadi, it's amazing that Kiera is rolling over like that! That would be soon even if she had been born full term! Such a clever girl.

Loo, good luck today! I'm predicting that D is going to amaze you by having put on lots of weight.

AFM.. we've managed a 9:00, 1:00, and 4:00 feeding schedule. DH handles the next feed no matter when it happens. This means I only had to wake up twice. :happydance: Now if I could just get them to eat a bit faster, I'd be set!

Missy, it sounds like we've had similar nights. :) I'm so happy the consultant helped little Ted get things sorted out.

Well F was great last night fed all evening from 9.30pm-11.30pm then fed at 4am and 6am, lovely long gap. Just a shame that Roh's back molars are coming through so he was up crying in pain at 1am and 3-4am  Between the 2 of them I feel a bit wrecked!
Not helped by the fact that FIL is coming over today to take OH clothes shopping :saywhat: (weirdest thng to happen in a while!) And also my mum and aunt are likely to come round on their way back from holiday. Just hoping my aunt and FIL won't be in the house at the same time, life could get interesting!
Also need to take the kids to the pottery painting place to sort a birthday pressie for OH and my mum. Phew, today could be tricky!

Sounds like a few of you are experiencing the same feeding.schedule as me which is reassuring.....everyone wanrs to know their LOs are normal:haha:. Just wondering whether i wake her to.feed at 11pm or have a nice restful going to.bed period then an extra night feed.hmmm. I am just goibg to leave her to own devices.

Didnt get to.use expressed milk from yesterday as it was easier to.put on boob....will give to hubby to serve up today...perhaps if we are out

Lazy day planned....parents head bavk today and hubby back.to work tomorrow.....will take Mia out for a walk. Luckily a 3 day week for him so that breaks me in gently.

Have a good day all...must drop in on other thread...didnt go on yesterday...need to if any activity :happydance:

Hooray for pretty good nights!!!!!! :happydance: Mitch, I always wake D up at 10ish for her last feed. I need a bed time even if she doesn't. We went through until 5 again then she woke up at 7.30.

Lozza and Laura. Happy registering!!! Lozza, you'll be fine with a deadline, just make sure he has a good feed right before you leave :hugs:

WT, I feel bad that you have to go back to work so soon. I know how hard I would find it, and hope the next couple of weeks go slowly :hugs:

AFM, I'm enraged by oh's comment of 'I'm just going to go and finish my coffee whilst it's still hot'. WHY? WHY? BECAUSE EVERY SINGLE BREW I'VE HAD IN GHE PAST 2 WEEKS HAS BEEN STONE COLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Humph.

Anyway. Giving D a super feed so she piles on the ounces for the mw!!!

Loo that is annoying! My oh keeps going on about how tired he us and he had a nap the other day while I was entertaining guests. He sleeps right through! Never wakes up once at night.

morning lads!!!!

Glowie...he's so gorgeous - hope he's giving you some awesome cuddles and a bit of sleep too!!

FT - hope you're ok hun :hugs:

Missy - so impressed with the feeding - Ted looks soooo contented!!!! What positions are you doing with the biological nurturing thingymybob??? So nice not to be covered in sick hey!!!

Loo - gah OH's... hot tea/coffee/meal would be nice wouldn't it!!! :haha: and get those oz's on D!!! :munch:

Mitch and Loo - your feeding schedules sound great...very well behaved little babies you've got there!!!

MsCrow - you and Edith doing ok birthday buddy???

WT - the thought of going back to work makes me shudder...its so rubbish you get so little time off...fingers crossed your lucky numbers come in on the lottery hey!!! :hugs:

Skadi - Kiera is so flippin cute!!! :baby:

AFM DH back to work this morning... I decided to stay in the spare room and at least give him some proper sleep as he's starting new job today... Noah just wouldn't settle last night so definitely got into bed with me and slept for 4 hours in between feeds!!! little monkey...see he CAN do the whole sleeping thing...just not on his own!!! My mother would be tut-tutting if she knew but hey who cares...i'm feeling more human, he was very happy and snuggly and fed much better when he woke up and actually wanted both boobs!!! :cloud9:

Lads - I haven't got a play gym...I think its maybe time I got one...N definitely spending much more awake time and I don't want to be holding him the whole time - are your LO's using the play gym much???

Also, I haven't registered his birth yet (oops!) so must get that booked in...

C-sec lads - when are you hoping to get driving again??? I always thought it was 6 weeks but lots of people have said they spoke to their insurance co's after 3ish weeks and got the go-ahead - as long as they were happy to do an emergency stop (which i am)... I can't wait to be able to get out and about again...

Enjoy your Mondays lads!!!

xxx

Loo....i am jealous....how do you get her to go 7 hours at night?? I want some of that :winkwink:...is it this stretch feeding malarchy? Mia feeds so well and seems to.get what she needs really quickly...but cant see much sign of these long nightime stretches.

Shouldnt complain but 7 hours solid would be lovely...and very self indulgent:haha:

Waula....we have a playgym and lay M on it with a propped up black and white book and the hanging toys..she was on for 30 minutes quite happily yesterday so with N being a bit older i think he would love it.

morning all,

as for feeding schedules we had a great night last night! fed about 10 ish, 1 ish, 5 ish and 8 ish. I say 'ish' because i can't remember the exact time! feeling quite well rested.

The midwife is supposed to be coming this morning to do the second weighing so hopefully it goes well. I have no idea what time she is coming though... normally she rings in advance at about 10am to let me know but nothing yet.

great that keira is rolling over!

i haven't registered R's birth yet either. Im thinking next week. We have quite a busy week planned with NCT coffee mornings and driving to hubs parents and easter etc.

I really need to buy some more babygros. R has outgrown the 'tinybaby' but is too small for 0-3. What i need is 'newborn' size... hopefully get over to Next and Mothercare tomorrow.

How are people's dogs getting on with the babies? My dog is so good, really calm around the babe. Quite interested and sniffs him a lot. I have to remind him not to lick but its going very well. Obviously i would never leave them alone together but i was concerned that he might be a bit boisterous but thankfully not.
