March Mamas 2012 Baby Group (Closed Group)

Hello Lads

Happy remembering Mouse, even if it was a scene from a horror movie. Love Vegas tho', crazy and groovy place.

Drool, ugh, lots, one day she soaked a baby gro. Today it's not been so bad. I refuse to countenance teething. Even if Freyja has started hardcore style already! I did buy some gel and teething toys.....just in case....despite the Tommy Tipee teething soothers being too wide for E's mouth.

Loved seeing your photos from Portugal Lozza, I hope you feel relaxed.

Rolling....she's trying....not yet though. I commend all the babies who are doing it already!

Rough few days feeding here. She totally refused my left breast for a couple of days whilst resulted in a screaming baby and a crying me. She's slowly coaxing back onto it but she's still not feeding for long on it. So I'm pumping from it whilst my right nipple feels like it's going to fall off. What is that about?

Tonight is the third night of leaving E up to it, no 11pm feed. First night she went from 8:30pm to 4:30am and 5am to 7am....I woke up horribly engorged. Last night she went 8pm to 2:30am and 3:30am to 7:45am. Who knows what she'll do tonight but I'm pumping at 11pm as it means I can relieve the engorgement and miss the 5pm expression (I'm saving bottles of milk for meetings).

Think F has been swallowing air in secret! She's having a massive wind sesh, totaaly can't get her settled! Well, i can but she wakes up wriggling and groaning after 5 mins. Poor little thing!

Waula, 14-21 days is the usual incubation for chicken pox i'm afraid.

L&L - sorry for the tought day sweetie :hugs: hope the night and tomorrow brings you more luck. xxx

WT -
1. glad the boys are good
2. YOU.THREW.AWAY.FRIES? :saywhat:

crowned - ahhh lovely name and lovely weight. makes me broody...... :dohh:

Lozza - great weight!

Mitch - dont worry hunni, she has just discovered her lips and is exploring them :)

Rashy - OMG COCONUT ICE-CREAM? yum! i know what i will br dreaming of tongiht

Crow - refusing one boob in particular? Thats new to me  sorry hunni x lovely to hear rom u though :hugs:

food porn lads..... yum to all that food. may favourites were giant fish fingers and cocnut ice cream. perhaps together.

ive just done a marathon of criminal minds, if i DONT dream of ice cream i may be having nightmares :nope:

my spelling is atrocious in that message.... :haha: forgive me.

ps...mitch.... penquin.... still makes me laugh

MsC F was refusing my left side with the teething. Not sure why, but she was soo fussy! As I feed cradle hold mostly though (or lying down, which she never really gets fussy at but its not practical in the day) I just fed her rugby ball hold on the left and cradle hold on the right, so she's always feeding in the same direction. Don't know that it helps you much, but thought it worth mentioning as it helped with us. Its soo frustrating when they refuse their feeds! It ssettles though. A certain amount of fussiiness and fannying about is normal now as they get older and more distractable.

Oh and the rivers of drool and refusing one side together would make me suspect E might be teething, even if you tell her not to! :haha:

FT, sure you're not preggo? Fshfingers and coconut ice cream together sounds a bit suspect to me!

G is very distractable when feeding... he often gets transfixed on cushions, wallpaper etc now which often means he unlatches - gah. but he's not refused a boob yet, but i will watch out for that now.

i feel like G is the only baby not teething..... there is alot of teething going on with our march babies. scary!

and emera.... im preeeetttyyy sure im not up the duff ( :haha: ) i think my eating habits are just weird. Prob why i didnt get proper ''weird cravings'' during pregnancy, because thats just normal to me

Ft - Z definitely isn't teething either, just dribbling a lot and exploring his fists. Got so fed up with DH saying he was that I checked with the osteo today who said definitely not.

Interestingly she told me he'd def had a growth spurt and had a slight tightness in his gut as a result , she said she bet he'd been sick more recently and she was right, he's brought something up almost every feed. Since this mornings session he's not been sick once despite a couple of long feeds!! Maybe there is something to this osteo stuff after all!

Morning lads!!!

L&L, sorry about your crappy day. I hope O is more settled now. Sorry about A's job too. That sucks :hugs:

WT, we NEED to get on to inventing a device to carry babies from your abdomen!!! amazing!!!

Mouse, I want coconut ice cream. Now!!!

Lozza, I hope Z's last osteo appointment has settled his sicky patch for good. We had an appointment yesterday and he said that D definitely was teething. We shall see. Tbh, I wouldn't surprise me by the river of drool!

MsC, oddly enough I was just about to write that D has been getting incredibly fussy on my left side. My right (bigger boob/faster flow) she is fine, but really not that interested on my left

Waula, swimming went well, thanks. I totally recommend it as I can visibly see D get more used to it and 'better' at it each week. It's so flipping pricy though, but the structure of it works for us.

As for not expressing anymore, it feels really liberating to be able to do things each day without having to stress that I need to be home between certain feeds, however I'm starting to wonder if my milk supply has taken a hit because of it. As I mentioned, D has started to become so fussy on my left side, and though when I squeeze there is always milk there, I just wonder if it is my supply dwindling. I'm taking fenugreek until it comes out of my eyeballs (or at least my pee/sweat! :haha:), but I'm not sure it's enough.

I guess I'll just have to see what the next few weeks bring...

Baby massage this morning, and going into Manchester to meet a couple of friends from back in Wales. They want to meet in the Hard Rock Cafe, which is fine, though probably not the most feeding friendly place (think high bar stools, and even most of them are taken!)

Happy Tuesday folks!

Mmmmm FT, giant fish fingers and coconut icecream. Can I come to yours?

OK, I'm in shock, we had the infamous but ellusive STTN :dust: visit. E went from 9pm having been a little monkey going to sleep and finally woke up at 6:15am. I was so engorged I was already quietly pumping with my manual and got 160ml in one easy go.

Loo, it makes sense your supply would drop a little as there's less demand but I totally appreciate the freedom you must be feeling from not having to be at home doing it. Could you maybe pump once in the morning when you wake and once before bed? In essence you'd be introducing feeds back in that D has dropped so possibly increasing supply?

Emera, :coffee: I read and you mention teething and my head is going :ignore: no! It can't be.

But then, funny about the left breast thing effecting some of us. Googling helped little so I just gave up feeding E from that side, pumped from it and have been gradually reintroducing it. I feed using the BN position so it's sort of hard to reproduce the same angle she feeds from on the right, on the left.

Go E!!! Wowza!!!! That is sleeping through the night...with knobs on!! :yipee: btw, Al just found E's old gro - the pink car one. I think his brain exploded with confusion, then his heart with happiness. Needless to say she is wearing it and we have one very proud Daddy because Dharma 'likes' cars!

Ahhh cute Loo!!! But I think its Wednesday not Tuesday :haha:

And awesomeness E for proper STTN... well done you both :flower: :hugs:

Lozza LOVE the pics on FB, looks lovely! I'm intrigued about the osteopath and Z...doesn't matter how it works if it works does it!!! N getting quite a flat spot on right back side of his head and he doesn't seem to be turning his head to the left at all so I may also be having a look at an osteopath too.

N been really unsettled over night. Up every 2 hours, hungry/fussy/screamy...finally took him into bed and managed to get 3hours out of him but my word of the day so far...jaded.

Loo -
The hard rock cafe is probably LO for feeding, little bit dark and theyve got booths I think, just try and get one of them!

Waula - I agree with loo about the swimming, and finally so does DH having been on holiday. He saw how much happier Z was doing proper swim positions rather than just being held, and for once admitted I was better at something than him :haha: off there at 10 this morning.

Mscrow - :happydance: for the sttn fairy!! Just seen your link on FB to Dropbox - I was actually goin to ask on here today what website is good to upload photos to so that family can share (DH doesn't like FB hence so few photos, plus my parents aren't on there, and I refuse to be friends with his family!) Would Dropbox work for that? Citymouse - I know you use a different one??

Z decided 4.30 was a great time to be awake so jabbered away til half 5. I was not impressed.

morning lads!
our bad day turned into a bad night. She went down at 8 fine but was really restless and we could hear her throwing herself around, she was then up at 1 and didn't go back to sleep till 3, i tried feeding her but she hardly ate anything and she wasn't screaming, just awake and grumbley  she was then awake again at 5 and only went back down at 8, she is now stirring again! I really hope she's happier today but i don't have much faith!

Go E on sleeping through the night!

i don't know waht else i was going to say now :(

I have to say, even though this isn't my first baby, you do forget the finer details, and its so nice to come on here and read that so many of our babies are basically doing the same thing. :hugs: I have to admit that although I know what to expect and a bit more what I'm doing, especially things like F not feeding properly really freaks me out, because it sends me back to feeding Roh and the struggle and weight issues etc.

Go E for sleeping so well!! :)

Waula, I know how you feel Fs been doing what N did last night for a couple of weeks until the last few nights. :hugs: try and grab a nap today!

Going to stay with my mum for the weekend tomorrow! Should be good :). She's just reminded me she doesn't have a tumble drier, so I guess I'll be going to buy some disposables then, as I don't think it will be line weather somehow! :dohh:

Could the refusing one breast thing be due to reflux?

Keira does it sometimes too.

Where did she get the idea that pooping at 4 am was the fancy thing to do? Argh!

Happy 4th July US laddies x x

and happy sttn for E Mscrow x

morning all, well done E for sttn for your mama!

another night of R waking at 4.30-5 for a feed then sleep til 7.30. fine with me and think this is our new routine which is fine for me!
