March Mamas 2012 Baby Group (Closed Group)

I've only lost 10 lbs but I look almost like I did pre-pregnancy. The only difference is the HUGE boobs and the flabby stomach muscles. If I hold in my stomach though it just looks like I got a boob job! lol Not sure where all the extra weight is hanging out... can boobs really weigh so much? Milk?? Who knows!

Well done glow, great birth story! Now we're all here we'll have to arrange our first NW baby meet up!

Aaaw glow big:hugs:...sounds like you went through it there...but you did so well on just a bit of pain relief. They didnt tell me til after M was born that she was back to back...now i have nothing to.compare it too but omg...G&A just didnt hit the contractions for me. Well done you x x glad you are enjoying lovely cuddles with Jacob...he is a really cutie.

Watched obem...first time since i had M...so your birth story made me all emotional

M has been asleep next to me for the last 2 hours...i am definately takibg her up to bed at 10...then let her sleep til 10:30...quick change and feed and down at 11 ...we shall see how many hours she goes. Really pleased with her sleep but hubby back to work tomorrow so its going to be all me tonight

Did you post yours Lozza? I might have missed it? Yeah deffo sort something probably after Easter as I've got the girls coming on Wednesday for the school hols.
I weighed myself yesterday so 24 hours after giving birth and I've got 10lbs to lose to pre-preg size.

Great PP shots Emera

:haha: G&A didn;t touch them for me either but I got to the point of no return and was labouring too quickly to get an Epidural....in all my painful ramblings I did ask for one :haha:

Glow, well done lady! Your birth story is great :hugs: sounds like you were a right trooper! I have no idea how anyone every manages not to push, both times for me when I've felt the pressure its not been something I could control at all really! so major hats off to you for resisting! I love the piccy you posted before he just looks so snugglable! I love weeny babies soo much!! :cloud9:

Glow, yep I did, a few pages back I think. I agree g&a doesn't seem to do much, but I read my "pain in labour" leaflet a couple of days ago and interestingly it says pethadine/diamorphine is a less effective pain relief than entenox!! I had the diamorphine, really relaxed me and allowed me to get through it.

Got on the scales yesterday and had lost 10kg I think. He was 4.2kg. I think I've got about the same again to go, around a stone and a half to 2 stone.

Aww, glowie, that's a really interesting story. I'm glad your student stayed for ya. did she get to deliver you? You'll be in her lovely diary, one of 40 special ladies and babies. :)

I just ate a ton of pate. It was lush

Someone asked how the dogs are reacting. From the first day we brought him home my Australian Shepard has been very protective of the baby. She won't jump on anyone if they're holding him (we're still trying to break her of the jumping thing). She comes running if he cries. She has started pushing him with her nose. I guess it's a mother dog thing. The only thing I'm worried about is she pushes him a little hard and I don't want her to get him in his soft spot. My other dog is interested but doesn't know what to do with him. She has sniffed him and tried to lick him. Here's a picture of him making little noises from his pack-and-play and his big sisters looking over him.

The cats don't seem at all phased by him. They are however happy that I am hanging out more upstairs. (The dogs aren't allowed upstairs during the day)

A plumber just came in to figure out why our toilet only flushes some of the time. He smells terribly of smoke! He walked through the living room and his scent is still lingering. Uck!

EDIT: Hubby just went to get a shovel for the plumber. I'm kinda scared.

Hi, can I join? Little James (6lb 7oz) was born 23:08 on Friday 30th. Birth story to follow. Congratulations to all the March mummies xx

A shovel for your plumber???? OK!!!!

Glow, thank you for sharing your story. You did so well on gas and air. What a trouper! I was begging for a section too, but I had been pushing for 2 hours :haha: I blame my crazy talk on the drugs!

Can't wait until another northern lads meet!

Well D has been crying since 6. She is really really unsettled and I don't know why. She rarely gets wind, but I'm thinking it could be wind in her tummy or maybe just a tummy ache as she keeps drawing her knees up and going red. She has had plenty of yellow runny poos though today, so who knows. just had to settle her to sleep on me, but she's in the crib now grizzling again. I think I could be about to experience my first post Dharma sleepless night!!!

Congrats JosieJo!

Glow, I forgot to add....you Mil and Fil turned up?!?!?!?!?! :grr: I think I would have told them where to go! You are a better woman than me! x

Apparently there's a pressure issue in the line and since the toilet is on the second floor it's not getting enough pressure to flush completely. Our basement has a dirt floor so I'm guessing the shovel had something to do with that....

Is anyone's appetite suddenly kicked up a whole bunch?

My appetite is crazy, I can't stop eating! I've stocked up on veggies, fruit, no fat yogurt andother healthy things so I don't balloon up!

Glowie - thanks for your birth story hun - sounds like you did incredibly well with the whole OP thing. I love the fact you were mooing like a cow. And what they hell were your inlaws doing there?! brilliant. what a panic. so glad you have him now and can enjoy all the cuddles (and mucus!!!). Lovely to have you here and hope the girls love him!!!

xxx

EDIT: hi josiejo!!! welcome... xxx

Loo - uhoh. welcome to the grizzly world of knees to chest. lets hope its a temporary thing and D goes back to 7hours sleeping at night!!! N does the same thing. Knees to chest accompanied by a disconcerting quiet screech. I'll be honest, I think the infacol seems to be helping... fingers crossed its just a very quick temporary thing xxx

EDIT x2 - OMG Kym i love the doggie picture!!! hilarious!!! so cute xxx

Yeah Missy she stayed and Jacob was number 36 for her  she was really lovely and calming. :flower: The older Midwife came to see me on Post Natal the day after as she said Jacob was so cute and I had been so nice  I don't remember being nice  she did say I kept apologising though so maybe that's what she meant :winkwink:

Lozza will try and find time tomorrow and read your birth story :winkwink: interested to hear how it went.....think you might have delivered the biggest baby vaginally :winkwink:

Great job Glow! I started pushing before they told me to, I couldn't stop myself. It's REALLY hard to stop when you get the urge. My little boy was also 8lbs 1 oz too. We were fortunate that I was quick and overnight so the in-laws could only come during visiting hours 10am-8pm. FIL walked in at 10:05am, after I had sent out hubby to take care of the dogs. I hope he hadn't expected me to entertain him.

Emera, your belly doesn't look too much smaller until you compare it to your boobs. You're looking great!

Skadi - I'm trying to eat healthy but all the healthy things are BORING. I want something good and fried!

I put our little guy on the tummy-time mat and he slugged himself right over the pillow. Cutest slug ever.

Not as good a night for us. Dharma was so unhappy before I put her down at 11. She woke up at 2.30 for a feed, and oh changed her at 4, but I didn't feed her (not sure why! I must have been all but asleep) and then she woke up at 6.30 for a feed. Still not a BAD night, I know, just worse than we are used to.

I hope that whatever is borthering her sorts it's self out. It's heart breaking watching her be so upset

By the way, I'm with all the hungry lads. Since Sunday I have just had the munchies. Not good at slimming world because I have to snack on fruit and stuff. What I really want is a big bag (BIG BAG) of doritoes!

Mw coming today (she says!) so hope she will be happy with us.

Good luck with mw today loo...i predict fantastic weight gain for baby D :happydance:

Night with M not bad.....hubby was off duty as its his first.day back at work today....down at 10:30....feed and double change due to poonami at 3 then up at 5:30 and 6:30.....not sure what thats all about..but managable i guess.

Health visitor called and is coming over Thursday morning....what do.they do? Check.for? Ask me? Etc etc:wacko:
