March Mamas 2012 Baby Group (Closed Group)

Up at 2:30 for feeding despite having finally filled her and gotten her to settle by 1:30... Grrr! She is trumping away though so perhaps the gas just woke her... I however feel like I'm dying.

Yes, I agree healthy food can get boring, which probably has to do with the bag of cookies gone missing.. Oh and that bag of chips... Yeah I'm not good at restricting my diet. Ooops! I'm trying hard though!

Morning everyone!

Congratulations and weclome Josiejo! Another Friday's child. My Jessica was born on a Friday.

Kymied - My dog Shen (black lab) and one of my cats have done the baby thing before with Amy. Shen loves babies and he gets to say hello to Jess in the morning when I bring her down, but he's not allowed in the room alone with her. Not because I think he would do anything out of spite to hurt her, but he did tread on Amy when she was a baby once and I turned my back for a second. He's not really blessed int he brains department. Thomas my cat knows what babies are about and has shown no interest, like wise Lola, who really isn't interested in anything unless it has chicken. Charlie however is convinced we have ruined his life. He's terrifed of Jessica and will flee if she makes a noise. He also went through a stage of being a complete pain and wanting to sit on my lap 24/7 (something he's never done before) for about 2 weeks after Jess came home.

Oh and my appetite has gone through the roof, but as I'm not breastfeeding I think it's probably to do with the steroids I'm on. One more day of taing them, then hopefully freedom from pills!

Loo - I'm sure D has made fantastic progress, finger crossed for a good weight gain.

Mitch - They should do a hearing test and weigh baby. They will also ask you all sorts of nosey questions about everything and anything. I was surprised when my HV filled out a form on how long myself and the husband had been together and how long we'd been living in our current house. What has that got to do with anything?

I hope everyone has a fantastic day. I had a good night with Jess, but I was up with Amy who has ear ache again. Another trip to the doctors, yippee. I'm going to have my own chair in the waiting room soon.

Hi everyone - I was originally a march mama but got moved just into April. Thought I would let you know that my baby boy Noah was born yesterday by emergency csection. He's rather poorly and is in special care so I haven't even had a cuddle yet and due to me having a spinal leak I am bed bound on my back. I am missing my daughter like crazy and finding it hard being away from both my babies. Xx

Glad to see everyone is well and settling into mummyhood. X

Laura, I'm so sorry to hear that. You must be beside yourself. Noah will be getting the best care, and your daughter will want you to get better too, it's just a horrible time for you. Everything will be made better when you get to hold your son :hugs: I really hope things improve quickly. xx

Well my girl just let me sleep until now. What an angel!!!

Morning lads...

Welcome Laura - sorry to hear about your little Noah not being very well (brill name by the way!!) :hugs: and hope you have a speedy recovery...

Loo - sorry to hear D upset. horrible to have LO's upset isn't it... Noah got conjunctivitis and his eyes are pretty sore - keeping them clean with boiled water and using some expressed milk to put in (much to DH's disbelief!!!) which seems to settle him but he's a lot grumpier than normal poor chap. Hope they both feel better soon! :hugs: Hope D's weigh in goes well and you can get signed off...

Noah still hasn't had a poo and he's feeding like a beast so i'm pretty scared of what is going to happen  hoping he's going to save it for a daddy nappy change... lots of little trumps happening but i think its brewing more than a few trumps!! :haha:

we're getting noah weighed at drop in centre today....why do i feel nervous!!!!!!

EDIT: ooh just realised the imminent poonami is going to make him HEAVY!!!

Mitch - how#s it going flying solo??? hope all is well and M being angelic!!!! xxx

My appetite never went away, I even managed to eat in labour in the hospital plus have a full day of food in the 24 hrs at home! I am drinking an absolute ton though, way more than even when I was pregnant when I upped my water intake massively.

Another rubbish night for me. Feeds took ages again, think he was partly comfort sucking as despite rooting for food at 7 am havinf been feeding since 5.20 I gave up and gave him to DH to deal with. He's been downstairs awake in his gym since and is now with mil, probably being rocked. Hope the bad night isnt because they held him to sleep most of the last 2 days. Apparently as soon as they tried to put him down he woke up... I put him dune last night in front of them and he stayed a good hour! God, ranting again.. They go tomorrow.

10 day weigh in today, excited!

Don't be nervous Waula, although sods law says Noah will save his days of poo for the point you have to strip him off for weighing!! :haha: Sorry, I'm sure his bottom will behave! :hugs:

Laura, congratulations on your little boy, so sorry to hear both of you are poorly, I hope you both recover quickly an well so you can have lots of cuddles and get home to your daughter soon as! :hugs:

Poor F s even more snuffly than before, its sooo hard to feed her :(

In other news, OH is drivng me up the wall!! :dohh:

Oh also, who asked about health visitors? I'm expectng a call today to arrange a visit. Think its the same one I see for Roh though so not too worried. She's nice enough. They are nosey buggers, but its sort of their job. Basically they are there for support and advice. But to give accurate advice they lke to know all about your home circumstances. They are to keep an eye on the health and wellbeing of the baby. You learn quite fast to ignore a lot of what they say, unless you are lucky and get a really good one! ;)

Oh and welcome over josie and Laura. Laura there's no such thing as being too late for a march baby, we'll consider Noah's birthday as march 33rd!

Well my HV is due in half an hour and I am still sat in bed unshowered feeding D. What a great impression we are going to make

Loo I'm pretty sure they see worse sights than someone feeding a baby in bed! ;)

We made it through to 5:30 but she han't passed any stool since 11:30. Eep! They are always terrible when they take so long. I wonder if its changing for her, she used to have nice medium sized stools every 3 hours like clock work and now she will go 9 hrs. How do you know if a change like that is normal?

We have been signed off from mw care!!! She isn't quite up to her birth weight, but only 40g off. Huzzah! :happydance:

HV went well too. Not too inquisitive either.

Going to leave D with mum for an hour (the first time we have left her) so we can whizz round town. I really don't want to leave her, but Al said its a good idea

ok - JUST for the record... ive been trying to get on here for over an hour, everytime i put George down he grizzles and wants feeding... i havent mastered typing whilst holding him yet :haha: but will be on here catching up SOON! (i hope) xxx

Hey Waula, baby birthday buddy, how did the weigh in go? I took Edith to the health centre today and from 6lbs 1oz at 11 days she's now 6lbs 12oz so I think that's ok. Great news Loo!

I personally love my HV but then I think I lucked out particularly as I see her a lot more than most people see theirs.

Awful night again, I suspect wind and colic. She went three hours till 3:30am ad then no more than an hour at a time, grizzling and possetting all over the sheet. I'm taking her to the quacks today to check it's nothing else and to ask for a prescription for colief, unless the quack thinks its reflux.

Fingers crossed things fast improve for you both Laura and Noah.

Thanks for the sympathy regarding OH woes and sniping. Yesterday was a better day and we managed not to fall out last night in the midst of baby grizzles.

Ok - im FINALLY attempting to catch up!

Loo - your comment about cold tea made me laugh :winkwink: ive become a fan of cold tea because its cold tea - or no tea!

waula - hope your OH had a good day back yesterday. my DH is at work today and tomo so my sister is coming up in a bit to keep me company. x glad DH is only at work for 2 days this week... to slowly break me in! :haha: as ffor driving after c-sec i was told 6weeks so will stick to that to be sure. same for excerise 6-8weeks. Missing zumba tho

as for co-sleeping hun, me and george co-sleep for about 4 hours a night or else he will not settle all night. he settles in the crib around the co-sleep.... guess he just likes being held?

Mitch - thanks for the tip on 'Nose Nuzzles' hun and glad to see little mia is doing well :hugs: i have the HV visiting on thurs too.... we can compare notes afterwards lol :)

Kym - so sorry about your stepsister :hugs:

those swaddling - do you do arms in or out?

mitch - your rant yesterday was TOTALLY justified hunni :hugs: i would have felt put out too :nope:

emera - OMG did the playgym ACTUALLY go on the fire?? lol

lozza - glad its not just me who got weepy when they turned one week old.... i think it reminded me of the horrible birth, but mainly how quickly that first precious week has gone.

cupcake - well done you on the first outdoor change! if im honest we have hardly left the house, im still a bit tender and i cant get him feeding little enough to go anywhere

glow - loved your birth story hun, once again - jacob is adorable :hugs: its great the student stayed too. G&A did nothing for me... but meptid was great, took the edge off... even if i was sick.

emera - your weight loss is going fab!

skadi - :hugs: i cant stop eating either :nope: :haha:

missy - i have pate in the fridge... im just waiting until i can have an uninterrupted glass of wine with it!!

josiejo - welcome :hugs:

ok.... im soooooooo sorry if i missed anything.... catching up after 2 days is HARD :haha:

so lots of us had rubbish nights last night eh? George would NOT settle at ALL until about 3am :nope: so tired.

also seem to be feeding every hour.... do you ladies think sometimes its for comfort rather than food??

how many of you are using a dummy? im tempted... but unsure.

he is such a great, chilled out baby... if only i could get the excessive feeding under control!!!

Took Jessica to the park this morning with middle sister Amy to get some fresh air as she was a little grouchy. Slept the whole time we were out. I needed to get out of the house as I am becoming obessed with thinking there's something wrong with Jessica. I'm not sure if it's hormones, side effects from the steroids or the early signs of PND.

I wish to God now my mother had never mentioned anything about her head being wonky. Anyway once the older two are back at school I'll be taking Jess to see our doctor, just for some piece of mind.

The weather's on the turn. Typical. No more drying cute baby clothes on the line.

FT. Wow, that was a proper catch up!

Well I couldn't leave D with mum in the end, so I took her with us and it was raining and she screamed for 90 mins. Oh. And we forgot the changing bag so it was poonami when we got home, which probably explains the crying. I feel like a terrible mum, but she is currently falling asleep on my breast.

Bah. Need to recover.

C3po, I hope the dr can offer you some advice both for Jessica and yourself. Peace of mind sounds like it would go a long way. :hugs:

MsC, glad things were a bit better with you dh. Hope the Dr can rule out one thing or another :hugs:

Loo you're not a terrible mum. I remember one time when amy was a baby she had an episode of explosive poo and the stuff I had in the change bag for her she'd grown out of 3 months before!

Then there was the time she had a wee accident in town when she was about 4 years old and I had no spare change of clothes so I had to dry her trousers under the hand drier in the public loos. I then went and bought her some cheap trousers from Peacocks because I was worried she'd smell of pee.

She doesn't remember any of it. Oh and don't get me started on the time we were in the park and she said she needed a wee (so I took her behind a tree) that really turned out to be a poo!

I just want to say that I'm so glad I bought the snoogle when I was pregnant to sleep on. It's the perfect height when wrapped around me to plop her down on so Ihave my hands free to use my phone, snack... Whatever!
