March Mamas 2012 Baby Group (Closed Group)

OMG, I found something that works for the teething screams. I have a bowl with ice water in it and I'm rotating out pacifiers in the ice water. She sucks on them, squeals when they start to warm up, and I switch the warm one out for a cool one.

I still have to be right next to her but at least she's not moaning in discomfort... ahh... such a beautiful (lack of) sound!

13 minutes on and it's still working... I feel like I won the lottery, lol.

Mouse- that sounds like a great (albeit exhausting) solution! Poor little G. It's awful that she's in so much pain. Good news is that once the first tooth breaks through, the others are usually easy by comparison.

Bluebird- I wonder if jeans will ever fit me the same again -- shred or not.

Dessert porn-- chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream and homemade chocolate chip cookies. Nom! I'll need to do some more Bodypump tomorrow to balance the scales. No wonder, I'm not really losing any weight. :haha:

Yay for finding something that works city!!!
The big latch on??? Love the sound of that!!
Mitch did M enjoy sensory??
N fed for an hour 5.30-6.30 last night then quick feed at 11.30 and he's chattering away in his cot whilst I look like someone's inflated my boobs :) thank you STTN fairy...now get back to lozza's house!!!! X

waula...yeah for the sttn fairy....but rubbish for boobs:haha:. suppose cant have both...great sleep by N though x

Sensory was fun....M was napping pushchair when i left house...had put her in tgere 20 mins before thinking her nap would finish before we got there. Nosy little monkey woke halfway there...short nap=little grumpy cries when we arrived. She got over it and stayed awake....seemed to like it...different to what i imagine. Was sitting next to instructor so she was watching her sing and sign...much better than my rubbish attempts.

Right M back down for short morning nap...shower for me...meeting Lozza today:happydance:....we are going to buy lots of coconut m&ms and toast you all:kiss:

Ergh the "oh no poo poo" alarm clock woke me up again this morning! :dohh: just spent the last 20 mins bouncing F. Who needs a workout??? So raiding the Xmas savings today for a jumperoo!

Have a nice time Mitch and Lozza! :)

A slept from 7pm 'til 5am!!!!!!!! After a couple of weeks of severe sleep deprivation that caused us both to sob :)haha:) it was a bloomin welcome relief! She may have managed more but OH got up for the loo and then she started to stir!! Pah, tie a knot in it man!!!!!

Have a fab day Lozza and Mitch and M and Z!! Not at all jealous - enjoy those coconut m&m's!!!

Ooh interested in what everyone has...need to invest in one soon...going to a wedding in 3 weeks and said we would provide our own. I never know what these hotel ones are like....want something a bit paddes not their wooden ones

FT...hows G feeling post jabs? All ok? x oh and good luck at work today

Highchair wise I think I'm going for the ikea antilopp (not sure on the spelling). Apparently although it's cheap it's really good. I heard A horror story about maggots in the creases of fabric ones that weren't cleaned properly, urgh, so that's put me off! Apparently you can out the ikea one in the shower if necessary!

Awful night again here, think it was a bit of wind & hunger. I went out for dinner with a couple of friends last night and left Z with my parents, but unfortunately I couldn't find the bottle is bought down with me so couldn't leave them any food :dohh: and I'd failed to feed him to sleep before I left, oops! I got a call after almost 2 hours saying he was hysterical. Fortunately we were in te pub at the end of the road so i was home in under 2 mins, he calmed down pretty quick but would feed, stop and smile at me while still sobbing a bit, poor little thing! Anyway he was then really hard ro wind, and probably didn't feed that well so he woke at 1, 3, 4.30 and 6 having gone to sleep about half 10. He's just had another hour now but Mitch, you'll recognise me by the huge bags under my eyes!!

Emera - sorry you were woken by a poo!
Nic - wow!! What an amazing night!

Am seriously hoping M has a word with Z today and sorts him out (and hopefully she won't listen to anything Z might have to say for Mitch's sake! :haha:)

Oh, and Mouse LOL at the cricket video. I actually quite like watching cricket! I think the Americans struggle to understand how we can play a game for 5 days and still end in a draw, but the shorter versions are really tense, and village cricket in the sun with a beer is lovely!

Oh no lozza...a coffee needed for you i think. I will get M to have words. I apologise in advance if M is a bit whingy....the last two days she has been whingy and kicking off slightly when tired during day and putting up a little fight....hmmmm. I will bring the colief for you....unsure if you feel its worth a try but cant hurt i.guess. I dont need so you may as well.have it...if you decide not to.bother then.thats fine

lozza  maggots in the creases??????! right....its the antilop for me too. enjoy your meet up lads!!!! pics for FT too don't forget!!!!! xx

i have got the ikea one too, its £15 and seems great so far. The tray is removeable so the baby can sit up at the table, is easy to clean and have no grooves in it where food can get stuck. its not padded but you can buy an extra padded cushion thing for support (im too tight and just use a normal cushion)

yay for sttn

and yay for finding a solution mousey. poor lo teething!

gonna try R on his first formula bottle when he wakes up... decided i would start ff this week again (although it will be a bit half hearted to start with so i can ease myself gently into it)

please cheer for my cousin rowing this morning! (olympics obviously!)

Those cheap ikea highchairs are brilliant!! Just make sure you always supervise, ALWAYS, because after a certain age they are easy for them to climb out and stand up in them. scary stuff!
Don't, just don't spend out on a big fancy one with padding etc. I was given one which was brand new, and whilst I've never had maggots (eww, seriously??) Its been a complete biatch and a real time suck to clean! Terrible design! I plan to use it with F until she can sit in a booster seat, that do what I've wanted to do to it for over a year and burn it!!
The other ones that are brilliant are the phil and teds ones that attach to the table top. Expensive, but also a great space saver and very portable! :).

Jumperoo ordered!

I got a high chair from kiddicare this week. £50 down to £18. T loves it. Not had to clean it yet though!

Yay for good sleeping, t did 7-4 which was lush although I assumed he'd wake up at 1ish so couldn't sleep at first!

edit.... Emera, what jumperoo did you get?

Citi, we've got a water filled teether which you can put in the fridge to keep cool.... Could you try one of them?

I ordered the same jumperoo as Mitch the Bright Start critters one from Mothercare, on offer. With the 20% off then another 10% off the whole order if its over £100 (i ordered a buggy board too) it worked out a reasonable price! I quite liked the look of the mothercare own one too, but couldn't really justify the extra £15.

Oh, and this is the highchair i was given. Even for free its evil and was designed by Satan's minions!! I won't deny its quite comfy for them though, but there are way better alternatives that won't make you want to cry trying to keep them clean!
