March Mamas 2012 Baby Group (Closed Group)

waula - G was blowing raspberries NON STOP about 2 weeks ago........ but now? none. Babies are weird :haha:

mouse - ah im so jealous. I looked into the cost of a nanny here but its double a childminder / nursery..... but i am SO much more comfortable with the idea of a nanny and 1-2-1 care. some thinking (and maths) needs to be done.....

LOVING ALL THESE MEDALS! GO TEAM GB!

Nanny would be lovely...i agree FT and sounds wonderful Mousey - lovely too that it's your sis...
Our current plan is to move to the family farm and look for a job over there when we need me to work so it might be full time mummy hood for a little while longer...and poss more babies!!! Eek. But I'm very happy about it...
Relegated Vicky Pendlwton? Thigh barge more like...

loo - we did hear back from the letter and they said they might consider moving in september depending on the health results. bit vague really. we have just yesterday out an offer in on a different house and now waiting to hear back. not expecting to get it though as it is extremely cheeky!

as for feeding - we had troubles moving over to combi-feeding but all sorted now (i think!)

emera - sounds like a tough night. hope F is better soon (perhaps it will just clear up on its own?)

well doen to those doing the shred. im being honest. i just can't be bothered!

poor pup mousey its horrible when they are in a cone/lampshade. the arrangement with your sister sounds perfect!

when are you going to put the offer in nic? did you say previously it was going to be a cheeky one? i can't remember.

well done twins on being good babies for your mama wt!

shame the photos were expensive waula - perhaps the grandparents could buy some?! (and you could copy them??)

i just had a delivery of Plum baby food. online their weaning pack is £10 and includes pouches and baby porridge (its cheaper than in the shops) there is a bit of a glitch as the pack is £10, they then take £4 off special offer but then there is £3 delivery. I ordered 2 to make the most of the delivery charge.

just tried baby on parsnip, pea and pear - he liked it!

i know homemade is best but its nice to add in a few more exotic meals plus it made the gluten free baby porrdge much cheaper! yay

Cupcake, how exciting about the offer... Fingers crossed for you!

Our pediatrician confirmed yesterday that we're to wait until 6 months before starting any solids. G is still really reactive to the usual suspects. Poor baby.

On the plus side, I'm at my lowest weight since 2005. Though I dream about eating the foods I can't have.

Sheesh today has been busy. Work is interfering with my BnBing. :haha:

Mouse- Hiring your sister is an excellent idea, and I love the rationale for giving her a bonus at the end of a year to ensure she hasn't squandered it all. It's a win-win.

Speaking of childcare... When I think of all the things that cost less than my monthly childcare bill, I get a little dizzy. Childcare costs more than my mortgage! And I live in an area where childcare costs are reasonably low by comparison. I shudder to think what I'd be paying if I lived where Mouse lives.

Mitch- I can't believe your poor photo luck! That is so awful. :hugs:

FT- I love that you list your actual food menu alongside your food porn wannabe menu. :haha: Your drive and determination has been very impressive! I have started working out regularly. (YAY for Bodypump!) But I still find that I cheat way too often on the food side of things. :dohh:

Waula- We've got raspberries here too. Except that K is not very good at them, so it's sort of a raspberry/spit combo thing. Super messy, but it keeps him entertained for long stretches of time.

Missy- I love the Musical Macbeth video.

Glad to hear that Papa C is doing a little better. Hopefully E is working her magic to charm everyone's moods. :hugs:

Cuppie- I've been using some of the Ella's Kitchen pouches for the same reason -- they have some exotic mixes. I love making homemade stuff for the boys, but as an example, I am never going to bother making them baby food with pumpkin or rutabaga in it. Not that pumpkin is exotic, per se, but it is a pain in the but to cook with if you're lazy like me.

AFM.... today is DS1's first day of the new school year. It always makes me a little sad because it means he's getting older. I can't believe he's in the 7th grade! It has just hit me that next year I will have two toddlers and a teenager all in the same house. Good Lord help me.

Cheating Aussie !!! Sorry wouldluv but its true...she barged Pendleton who then inadvertently went outside the line cos of it....cheat!!!!! She was well and truly beaten in second one though. Woooop for Chris Hoy though. Havent seen an interview with Pendleton yet...not sure how she was feeling / gutted?? Sure i will see later

Loo:haha:.....'it turns out i.am really lazy'....made me piss my pants!!!!

Mouse...great news about the sister/nanny situation. We obviously have my sil but she will habe other kids too....bit worried that its not going to be easy to drop her off in mornings. Its only 15 mins away (no traffic) but out of the way for routes to work.hmmmmm

Cant believe its back.to.work.in 5 months ...

Time to shred. Oh dear god... Oh and I don't have weights so I've improvised...1kg of sugar and 1kg sultanas.

Mouse- When G is older, you can hold this over her head in many ways. You deserve a medal (or at least a fun new wardrobe to accommodate your new found svelteness) for getting her through this.

Gasp. Wowsers. Drip drip drip. That's going to hurt. X

Lawrence okoye is a BEAST. Is that what we're going to look like after all thus shredding?! I'm going to get weights. There's a hole in the bag of sugar apparently. Gritty everywhere. Yuk.

He's Maahoosive!!
Bad times with the sugar leak! I thought I'd use tins of beans! Saying that I'm now frightened, hoping my postie is being slack and it takes ages to arrive! My SIL is going to do it too when it arrives though as she has it already! Yay for the distance shed club! :)

Well done waula...i thought 20 mins would be fine hmmm i was wrong. Are we meant to.do this everyday?? I was dripping after and had to.wash my hair...minging. I have taken to.washing it every other day after having M. Oh and has everyone elses hair loss stopped/slowed? I still shed but it MAY have slowed....a bit.

Hairdressers this weekend and think.i.am going for a fringe again...and about 1-2 inches off length. Though a bit worried about baldy/thinning patches:haha:

Mouse - that's great having your sister to help! My friends going back to work when her LO is 5 months, full time (she's a surgeon) and has hired a nanny to come daily rather than live in. I dared ask the cost... £28k a year! That makes nursery fees look tiny (although still almost the same as our mortgage!)

Wt - toddlers and a teenager?!! Fun times ahead!

Talking of fun, sounds like you're all loving the shred I am cheering you on from here, much like the olympics. Great to see so many equestrian medals, and that we're in with a chance of 2 more individuals! Keep missing the athletics & cycling as I'm always trying to get Z down!

Doesn't look like Z likes mil. Been passed to her twice today and wailed both times!! It's not strangers in general as he smiles at anyone. I wonder if it's cos she starts kissing him ex straight away rather than just sitting him there and giving him time to study her and process her. Might suggest that tomorrow, it's a bit embarrassing really! Looks like DH won't be able to palm Z off all day Sunday while I'm at the olympics! :haha:

Oh, and took a whole 20 minutes before she said he was teething :dohh: Just because he put a toy in his mouth, she told him she'll get the bonjela for him  I am keeping quiet, she's said the same thing for the last 6 weeks and still no tooth or sign of one. Oh, and apparently his cold is because he's teething (rather than because my friends daughter coughed over him last week)

No food porn here, a relatively healthy stir fry, although I had 3 samosas as a mid afternoon snack :haha:

oooh exciting Mitch - love going to the hairdressers...love someone washing my hair...but not so keen on the chat! I always seesaw between fringe and no fringe but have annoyingly wavy hair so love a fringe for about a week then get annoyed with the "mushroom head" look that it becomes!!!
DH just been to hockey training and he does NOT look well - he's currently stretching out in the garden half naked as he couldn't trust himself not to vom in the house
makes me think the shred wasn't that bad after all!!! poor neighbours!

tins of beans? of course thats what you should use!!!! :dohh:

N fed for literally 5mins before passing out at 7...not sure thats going to keep him going is it!!! :nope: i find its such a fine balance at night time for him to have a lovely bath but then not pass out before a good feed...

i was just looking at the shred online and there is a blog, hate to say it but the lady doing it GAINED 6lbs!! lol. probably muscle build up but decided i don't want to join in, lol.

i could do with the toning though..... jelly belly not good.

got no plans for tomorrow other than walking the dog and doing the ironing...boring

Mitch, I'm jealous that your hair is starting to stay in your scalp. Mine comes out in horrible clumps.

Waula, lol! So FT wasn't exaggerating? And sorry about the sugar, but how funny. You try to do the right thing...

WT, you could have your own reality show! And yay you for working out regularly... yet more evidence of your secret identity as Wonder Woman. The most I do these days is a random walk around the block or squatting while wearing the baby in the Bjorn.

Lozza, ooh... are you a little teeny tiny bit glad Z reacted that way? I would be.

I think your Olympics coverage must be so much better than ours. It's all completely edited and you're just as likely to see a talking head commentator as an actual sporting event. For the women's vaulting finals, they featured one vault at a time between commercial breaks! So irritating and it really takes the mystique away. After the third commercial break I was ready to just go look up spoilers online. Greedy old NBC!

Waula, t only ever feeds for 5 minutes, usually less. Today most of his feeds have been 2 minute jobs.

Wt woooooooooooooo for the DD!

Loo, you are cracking me up today. I agree Waula you should have eaten the sugar. I went shopping with my mum and got so tired we had to stop at starbucks for a caramel macciato (which I put extra sugar and cinnamon in). City, I tried on a pair of skinny jeans in a 14 today and they fit! Also the first time since 2005!

ft. I do have photos, they are on my laptop. Will have to get them tomorrow. There are some dumb ones ha ha.

Also mega raspberries here. Mixed with dribbling means a sore chin!

Oh... T made a fist today and punched me on the nose!

Good to hear an update from Msc

Oh and no, I'm still Balding dramatically... Like city.

City your coverage is definitely awful compared to ours. BBC has no commercials and each event has its own channel!

I may have forgotten to do the shed today... Again
